I think Kiffin is too flakey for Trev and NUI think Tressell has been out of the game a bit too long, but I really like Kiffin.

How about Gundy?80%? A name that has been out there, but not talked about much? This checks all the boxes; canāt wait to welcome Coach Kiffin to Lincoln.
If you want to be ridiculed, yes. Also, I'd want to make sure I didn't burn my source ... because someone - hell, everyone - is going to demand to know who your source is.Honest question for the board - if you really did hear a solid rumor, pretty certain to be accurate, would you come on this board and state it?

I'd DM it to you only and let you get ridiculed.Honest question for the board - if you really did hear a solid rumor, pretty certain to be accurate, would you come on this board and state it?
Nice try but we don't have DM on this board, at least not that I am aware of and I would not share the rumor/information on this board. That's just me.I'd DM it to you only and let you get ridiculed.
MJ is not an Offensive Coordinatorif BOB stays involved with the offense -- could easily see MJ being promoted to OC with it being the next step in taking over a program
Sorry I meant Fickell.. had a couple of theseI think Tressell has been out of the game a bit too long, but I really like Kiffin.
Some really informed guys donāt post here anymore for the crap they took posting things that turned out to be factualHonest question for the board - if you really did hear a solid rumor, pretty certain to be accurate, would you come on this board and state it?
Honestly, at this point I donāt think I even care that much who takes the job, because there arenāt any āwowā hires out there.
My only hope is that whomever it is, hires an elite DC and an elite offensive line coach.
No. The cleti doesnāt allow it anywayHonest question for the board - if you really did hear a solid rumor, pretty certain to be accurate, would you come on this board and state it?
My favorite is when the knuckle draggers hold their hands over their ears while screaming ādo you have a link for thatā. Hahaha. Makes me giggle every timeIf you want to be ridiculed, yes. Yep, wake me up too! I'm kinda fizzled out after the Pelini, Riley, Frost years! Ringing true to me, the Saban quote from 1969, "They're killing me Whitey, they're killing me" Haha! With BOB, I think he would know the key is building both lines better! I don't have a lot of yrs left, so lets get it done!Generally speaking, I care more about a higher floor than a higher ceiling with this HC hire. I think BOB provides a higher floor than many of the names mentioned, so that part is good.
But Iām not going to get excited or argue for any particular candidate. Wake me up when the announcement is made so that I can start rationalizing the decision.
When we had dominate a nasty OL/DL our coaches looked for these traits first not body types to fit the position. I realize we ran a different type offense back when we were known for our lines but those lines could pass protect when the had to.I too think getting a good recruiter of vicious Linemen have to be priority #1 who is also a great linemen coaching ability. Heh, I suppose it's mission impossible but I can only hope & pray.
Like these guys? When we had dominate a nasty OL/DL our coaches looked for these traits first not body types to fit the position. I realize we ran a different type offense back when we were known for our lines but those lines could pass protect when the had to.
Somewhere along the line we got coaches who thought we needed OT's that stood 6' 6" or 6' 7" and weighed 320 pounds and our guards needed to be 6' 4" or 6' 5" and weigh 325 pounds. I wouldn't mind seeing our tackles stand 6' 4" or 6' 5" and our guards stand 6' 2" or 6' 3" as long as they could move and had that nasty streak.
Just give me lines that can move the point of attack and impose their will on their opponent, I don't care about body types I just want kids who are nasty and who can move.
The link police!!!My favorite is when the knuckle draggers hold their hands over their ears while screaming ādo you have a link for thatā. Hahaha. Makes me giggle every time

You would think we could get him on a nicer plane than this ..Reddit thinks O'Brien flew to Lincoln the night before the Tennessee game? Yeah I'm sure Saban allowed that.
BOB is an NFL guy. He was in the NFL before Penn St. Left after two years for the first NFL gig offered. He would always be a candidate every year for the NFL jobs that open up. We donāt need that kind of uncertainty.
I could see him being a candidate for the New England job after Belichick retires.BOB is an NFL guy. He was in the NFL before Penn St. Left after two years for the first NFL gig offered. He would always be a candidate every year for the NFL jobs that open up. We donāt need that kind of uncertainty.

That's actually an interesting idea. I have had the opinion that we should get a coach to help turn us around whether that be Matt Rhule, LL, or BOB. With the idea that max they would be here 5-7 years. In that time he can teach MJ the ropes and give him some experience.if BOB stays involved with the offense -- could easily see MJ being promoted to OC with it being the next step in taking over a program
Because he's a proven top of the line recruiter??Why is there this weird insane NEED to have MJ stay if a new HC comes in?

Because if a new coach is hired it is up to him to bring in (or keep) who he thinks is the best.
If the new guy thinks MJ is the best...great! If not... Break out your torches and pitchforks - the guy clearly doesn't understand value when it's sitting right in his lap!
