I'm usually nervous for all tournament games; oddly, not so much for that one. I KNEW there wasn't a team out there who could beat that UK team twice in one season.

I just wonder how much of Cal's fire and drive to change (that he didn't show during the season or even after until last night) can be linked to that article saying an NBA Analyst was questioning if Cal's dated offensive scheme was holding BJ Boston back. We all know Cal loves being praised by NBA analysts and scouts. He thinks the draft is the greatest night in Kentucky basketball. Maybe that article made him realize, its not just local media, and us "Basketball Bennies" but now NBA people are blaming his system for guys not performing.
The constant screaming from him is a little bit embarrassing and I believe it distracts the players on the court

And as far as Whitney goes maybe Am I incorrect . Did KW not start with a larger lineup and Cal not chose to go smaller until after the quitter quit ? So while yes they obviously played different positions unless my memory is wrong then yes , KW starting was what kept IQ on the bench , because Cal went with a taller lineup . Maybe I'm wrong .

Thats fine I'm not saying you didn't but we did win 30 games in 2019 with the 28th ranked offensive rating. There was no need to change. Now because its clear the transfer portal is going to be the move its time to change. I'm just here saying we aren't going to be this bad next year if we get those guys.
Powell is a 44% 3 point shooter. Yes he's better than Allen but we need more shooters. If you get Powell and Frederick you'd be able to put a great modern offense on the floor. Yes that would be huge. It has nothing to do with blue tinted vision. I'm not trying to argue but it seems like you're trying to push your own narrative. Powell is the second ranked transfer on the market for a reason. I'm guessing you're angry with Cal which is fine but I've found many of the people on here who want Cal gone are going to scream that regardless of what happens so I doubt me telling you that getting the best transfers on the market will change around everything will help.
Did we have superior talent last season? Did we win the SEC by 3 games with superior talent?

Yes Powell is a GREAT fit in Auburns wide open, out score your opponent type mentality offense , its a polar opposite from Cals approach . If Powell is good why wasnt he wearing blue to begin with ? We both know why , hes not Cals kinda guy .
PS I dont know who Frederick is , dont necessarily care . He isnt a top 5-10 type NBA talent and we are not winning without them . We havent been winning WITH them . How is our record VS ranked Comp the past 5 years ? 50% thats what . Its not hate , its not Cal per se , I'll shut up when we start winning Most , just MOST , of the games we should win . But we seem to have adapted to where even looking like dog crap in Nov and Dec is acceptable .. hey its just Cals approach . Its bad , just not many will accept it
I would like to keep the conversation going. Its a good topic and we all have our opinions. I don't want the thread shut down. No need to name call and all of that. We all love Kentucky basketball and we just want to see them win again. However that needs to happen needs to happen.....I don't think we should fire Cal or any of that over one terrible season but if this happens next year or within the next 2-3 years then he should probably be canned.

Well he wasn't a top recruit and we are a national brand that recruits as such. A low ranked kid right under our nose may go unnoticed. I think he is good enough to play anywhere though. Obviously we missed the first time but guys go unnoticed everywhere. He would have been good enough to play here but we didn't recruit him. Now we can get him after missing the first time. I think the transfer portal will be the new movement kind of like the OAD.

I’d say this off-season is the most important in the programs history. The next month will tell us a lot. I am encouraged so far but we’ll see

Its not negative to say that Cal was hungrier at Memphis when he had a limited resume versus now that hes the highest paid coach in the NCAA. As a matter of fact that's how he got the UK job in the first place. He has become complacent over the past 5 years.
