Lee said in his interview afterwards that he didn't have a concussion, plus he obviously passed the concussion test or he wouldn't have been cleared. What are you saying, he was lying and they let him continue after failing the test? I'm not arguing with you, just curious as to what your stance is here?!
There is a long history of athletes in many sports (wrestling, football, soccer, others) passing the concussion test in spite of having a concussion. Diakomihalis passed the concussion test in spite of having a concussion. Tagavailoa passed a concussion test after laying on the field in the fencing response position. To say he definitively did not have a concussion because he passed the test is to ignore that reality.

As for his statements, there is any even longer history of athletes lying/covering up symptoms to keep competing. What about Spencer Lee's past history would suggest to you that he would say he was concussed?

I have no idea whether he suffered a concussion, but then neither do you. Nor does Corby for that matter. Only Spencer Lee knows. And any statements by anyone else in either direction are speculation, even when they are stated as certainties. But some people just get drunk on the idea of being an "insider".

I sincerely hope that Corby is right and that Lee is 100% healthy and comes home wearing a gold medal.

I do. Far more than most of the worthless pukes on this board. Used to get some really good info from him, until stupid interactions like this. So thankful we’ve got posters like you around so we have no insiders anymore!

Fair enough. Like I said, wasn't arguing with you, but was curious on your stance. While Corby may not be an "insider" for Iowa, he does know a lot more about what is going on in the wrestling world than most of us. Just sayin

so my takeaway is USA wrestling needs to consult this board whenever there is a possible concussion. We'll thoroughly examine it for the next 48 hours, which is only slightly longer than some challenge reviews.
Penn St fans seem to know all about concussions 🤷. Some of those same people say Kasak has neck issues 🤷

I was being a dick way before that 🤷.Ask anyone who knows me and they will tell you I have no problem speaking my mind face to face. I'm not a big guy or claim to be a badass but I will always give my opinion. Also I don't even know who you are so it would be difficult to speak with you face to face. I post under my real name I don't hide

In reality, Spencer didn't likely know the extent of his head injury at the time of the interview. Concussions are weird and can be difficult to diagnose, especially for the athlete. The staggering and nearly collapsing certainly didn't look like someone who was perfectly fine, that's for sure.
Hopefully he takes it easy for a bit and makes sure he's as healthy as possible before he starts back up. Wouldn't want it to become a reoccurring thing as we've seen from a lot of wrestlers over the years.

My daughter suffered a concussion and suffered for a year . They're nothing to mess with . As for athletes, they can't diagnose concussions. That's for the medical staff.

And he said that they did and told him he's fine. Everyone wants to ignore the facts that Spencer and the medical staff said he was fine. Not every head bump is a concussion like the message board DRs think.

Is anyone actually saying he definitely had a concussion 🤷? I see a bunch of he didn't look 100% kind of comments. You're having a strawman argument. At least you keep it short instead of the tomes that MSU writes.

Not exactly sure how “medical staff cleared me during the match, but they F’d up and I’m concussed as ****” plays out to the masses.

Wow your spin is delusional. Wrestle just made a statement that symptoms can come on later thats it. He isn't wrong.

To be fair to Corby, he got bullied off the old board for saying Spencer was healthy against Ramos. So he might just think Spencer is a demigod.

Of course , however some of us are not medical board doctors , some actually treat these conditions. Athletes are not good at self assessment.

True. Symptoms don't always immediately happen, but I do remember the Doctor Who brought the wife the issues with NFL football players and concussion saying that every time you get your bell run, you see a flash you feel dizzy after hit you have suffered a concussion.
There are various degrees of course.
