There is a long history of athletes in many sports (wrestling, football, soccer, others) passing the concussion test in spite of having a concussion. Diakomihalis passed the concussion test in spite of having a concussion. Tagavailoa passed a concussion test after laying on the field in the fencing response position. To say he definitively did not have a concussion because he passed the test is to ignore that reality.Lee said in his interview afterwards that he didn't have a concussion, plus he obviously passed the concussion test or he wouldn't have been cleared. What are you saying, he was lying and they let him continue after failing the test? I'm not arguing with you, just curious as to what your stance is here?!
As for his statements, there is any even longer history of athletes lying/covering up symptoms to keep competing. What about Spencer Lee's past history would suggest to you that he would say he was concussed?
I have no idea whether he suffered a concussion, but then neither do you. Nor does Corby for that matter. Only Spencer Lee knows. And any statements by anyone else in either direction are speculation, even when they are stated as certainties. But some people just get drunk on the idea of being an "insider".
I sincerely hope that Corby is right and that Lee is 100% healthy and comes home wearing a gold medal.
