So your point is that since she replaced the role previously held by Britney Griner (a 10x all star, and wnba champion) Reese is not a floor raiser?

Surprised there wasn’t a drop off there, instead she came in and was league DPOTY on a team that had the top 3 leaders in steals.
Brittney Griner 2025 ≠ Brittney Griner 2013-2024

She averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds for the Dream in 2025. It didn’t take much for Reese to replace her production.

When was she selling tickets for Dallas?

And why do you think that is some blemish on her resume?
Uhhh, because maybe she doesn't understand the recruiting process??:) Look up her ticket sales history.
Aw heck, here you go. Saved you some time.

"Cox has spent time at various WNBA franchises, including the Phoenix Mercury, Connecticut Sun and most recently the Dallas Wings. She was the Wings COO and led day-to-day operations and oversaw ticket sales, partnerships and marketing, among other things, for the past three years."

Just reviewed Cox’s resume. Your description of her professional experience is wildly inaccurate.
Not hardly. Why defend her incapabilities? I imagine her ticket sales were through the roof. Outside of the "Big Three", what "Einsteinian" selections has she made?

Cox has held positions as VP, President, COO, and GM with different WNBA teams. If you think her background primarily involves ticket sales you’re an idiot.

Oh yeah???????? :)

"She was the Wings COO and led day-to-day operations and oversaw ticket sales..." Oh, I didn't use the word "Primarily" either. (y) BTW, what's your favorite music?

Plain and simple. The players didn't want Clark in the league to begin with. Add to that, some in the media, who lack courage and fairness in their coverage so as not to create division among their viewers. And when the records began to fall at the hands of Clark, they really couldn't take it anymore, and things got physical. They didn't like the idea of someone new coming into the faux "Professional League" it claims to be, thereby exposing what they did as simply good, and maybe even mediocre. Through it all, Clark has been the "salmon swimming upstream", facing all the bulls*t the players and the league have thrown at her, with aid and assistance from select media outlets. Each time, she has emerged with class, dignity, and giving praise and credit toward her peers, many whom would not have done so to her.
The players didn't want CC in the league? How can you even come up with something like that?

What "records"? We're they not physical with CC from day one?

WNBA players don't like the idea of someone new coming into the league?

No, what the league does is not mediocre. Are women's sports, in general, a worse product than men's sports? Of course. But the WNBA is the best women's basketball the world has to offer. Nothing mediocre about it. And nothing that is below CC.

This is the crap from fans that gives CC a bad name

#1: The "Old Guard" detested her, knowing their records would be in jeopardy.
#2: The records that it took many moons for the "Old Guard" to finally accomplish. The physicality accelerated as the numbers for Clark didn't lie.
#3: Oh, the did/do like new players coming in as long as they fall in line. It's a "Process", remember? ;)
#4: Referred to the level of play. "Old Guard" seasoned vets, even All-Stars, smoking the easiest of layups and hoisting airball 3 pointers. Be careful what you say about women's sports in general. That sounds misogynistic, as you said, "...in general." Underlined that for your convenience. See above.

And I said, "in general", in an attempt to be fair.

Sports are a physical activity. Actually, they showcase physical greatness. Men have more of it than women do. I have no problem saying that

Well, I guess we know now what that "lower leg" issue was all season. Hopefully that means no Unrivaled for her this year.

sports also showcase skills some legendary sports figures weren’t exactly great athletes

Women don’t play above the rim like men do but I enjoy the women’s game for what it is and there are both great athletes and skilled athletes in the wnba

I’m actually more of a wrestling fan….. I wrestled and didn’t play basketball ….. so I’m not basketball expert but to call the women’s game an inferior product isn’t fair…… I would agree the wnba as a league needs to improve it’s officiating and maybe coaching but from a competitive standpoint there’s some pretty damned good games

And women’s wrestling is every bit as competitive as men’s is….. everything is relative as far as the difference in physical capabilities of men and women athletes but I differ with the notion it’s an inferior product if you just enjoy competition IMO……. but I raised 5 female athletes so I might be biased

I am glad Duncan is gone at ESPN.

Former ESPN anchor Elle Duncan called the discourse surrounding the WNBA "toxic as hell" and claimed that Black women are the target.

"It feels like open season to dunk on Black women because we do not have protection. Because no one cares. Because we are low-hanging fruit," Duncan said of the WNBA discourse during a discussion with Front Office Sports on Tuesday.

"It is very easy to dunk on us since we are, I would say, outside of transgender people, the most marginalized of the marginalized groups."

Not inferior.

Just not the men's game. But my point was it is nowhere near mediocre. Absolutely, world class women's basketball. I've watched the W for 30 years.

As for athletics in general. Pro men are incredibly skilled too. It's the physical athleticism that separates, and allows men to play most sports at their highest levels.

Not just sports. When it comes to anything that involves size, strength, speed, etc, I prefer men. When it comes to anything that involves emotional intelligence, I prefer women. I think that's completely fair to say

#1: Subject to debate. :)
#2: Agree with the first sentence. However, in the second sentence, you create a narrative that women can not perform at their highest level due to physical constraints. If women are physically inferior, as you say, then how does that limit their ability to perform at a level comparable to, or exceeding the level of performance by peers, who are under the same "Constraints?".
#3: Emotional Intelligence doesn't win games. You can be emotionally intelligent and level, and still lose games. After seeing some of the "Physicality" and emotional outbursts toward other players and the fans, how can you say the W players are emotionally intelligent anyway? :unsure:You're also generalizing and creating a subjective narrative where, in you're words, "when it comes to anything..." men are brutes, and women are emotionally intelligent. :D

When it comes to emotional stability however, the W is in the top 10% percent of lunacy. 👀:)

3. I never said anything about emotional intelligence, when it comes to basketball, or the WNBA. Read better.

I also think the comments about Reese not leading Chicago to a playoff is a little unfair. She shows up that year, not even their highest draft pick, and is their only all star. Chicago trades away Mabrey and their best scorer is Chennedy Carter, a woman basically blackballed from the league. Year 2, they have no one and Reese is their only all star. Year 3, she's out of Chicago and Chicago has 0 all stars.
Playoffs? How about just not finishing last? For all the talk about Chicago’s front office being a joke, they made the playoffs five years in a row prior to Reese’s arrival. And yes, they lost Copper, but Chennedy Carter replaced her production. The Sky got progressively worse during Reese’s time there. Their 2025 record was the franchise’s worst winning percentage since their inaugural season 20 years ago. And this year, without Reese, they improved their record by 6 wins even though several of their key offseason acquisitions missed most of the season with injuries.
Meanwhile, Clark lands in a great spot with the 2023 1st overall pick and Kelsey Mitchell. Not saying Clark didn't make a big impact on the Fever, but I don't think anyone was walking into Chicago and making a big impact. They flat out stunk.
Let’s not pretend Chicago didn’t have any talent. In exchange for Marina Mabrey they received Rachel Banham, who was a former #4 overall pick, and Moriah Jefferson, who was a former #2 overall pick. They also had a pair of #3 overall picks in Cardoso and Diamond DeShields. Chennedy Carter and Elizabeth Williams both were #4 overall picks. The Sky had talent. They just didn’t have discipline or leadership.

After 2 years of trading away playmakers they go out and get Rickea, Azura, Carrington, Diggins, Cloud, and Sheldon. They still miss the playoffs but at least they won 6 more games. Must be Angel’s fault.
