Ha! I found a good clip of it, it's the first play.
This seems to be a different but actually better angle than what the broadcast showed. It's sooooo ridiculous.
The league is bending over backwards to promote her as the face of the league. And I think we know why. She can’t hold a candle to cc
Wait a second. She slapped the basket stanchion. That is supposed to be an automatic technical foul. And then a ball bounced off her foot and caused a delay in the game during a dead ball. That is also supposed to be an automatic technical foul(assessed to the team not the player).
She’s got a lot of skill, but the refs need to call her on the carrying of the ball. This isn’t a case of taking an extra gather step. Or taking a few gather steps before both hands are on the ball to stop the dribble like CC does rather often. Both of which I’m not a fan of being allowed in the game today. She’s literally putting her hand under the bottom of the ball and then continuing to dribble.
It's the same as when CC (and others) change pivot feet multiple times on the perimeter when they pick up their dribble...they just don't call violations like they could unless it has a significant impact on the play.
Why did a certain someone get T'd up for it, and others didn't?
The kicked ball was the result of a reckless action by throwing the ball away.
By rule:
Failure to resume play promptly after a timeout or a stoppage. Tossing the ball away in anger/disgust created the delay. Should have been called.
Cause: Temper tantrum. Poor sportsmanship. Unprofessional behavior due to frustration of one's own play, and not getting "bail" calls from officials.
Opinion: Looks to me like it was intentional.

But................................Did she point at the scoreboard? No.
Herky T will probably claim that pointing at the scoreboard is an automatic technical.
We saw it last year with Paige, and even more this year with Miles. And yes we know why.....
If a violation such as this leads to a made basket, is that enough to be considered a significant impact on the play? I don’t care who committed the violation, call the game fairly by the rules.
The video of her pinning the ball on her hip for a full count and then turning the ball over in her hand before dribbling, is really the worst case I think I've seen of an obvious carry. Of course , nothing to see here....
Ole legend (in his own mind) can't seem to answer why cc gets a T for that and no one else does.
Yep, I’d like to see some of what Clark gets away with called a travel too. Allowing all of this stuff is ruining the game.
Can you respond to your own post? Oh what the hell. Oh and cc get a T for ACCIDENTALLY bumping into a ref. They are so ready to call stuff on her it's obvious. Except to legend. But yet people can plow her, gouge her eyes, knee her in the groin, push down on her neck and that's fine. No one really gets punished if they do it to cc
I was just going to post this as well….. Yea there will be some awkward relationships between her and her Caitlin hating teammates….. she’s an Illinois kid so Chicago is home but that organization overall is definitely a mess right now
How many years are required in the W to qualify for a pension? Hopefully Kate can hang on long enough to qualify.
With the Cubs, White Sox, and Fire all having good years, the Sky are going to be an afterthought in that market for a while. This signing might bring in a few Iowa grads in the area at least.
Per the new CBA, it kicks in as a lump sum if she makes it to 5 years in the league:
- 5–7 years: $30,000
- 8–11 years: $50,000
- 12+ years: $100,000 (former MVPs also qualify for this top tier regardless of service time)
time as a DP doesn’t count towards WNBA seniority as far as a pension unless they get signed to the active roster
I’m kind of curious why Chicago added her to the developmental deal at this point in the season….. they really don’t have anything to play for….. they must believe in her future potential
I’d guess she’s destined for coaching eventually
