Bro, this probably the third time this distinction has had to be made.

AGAIN, it's the difference between,"WAS", and, "IS (currently)".

This is not difficult to understand
So was as used like this?
‘I didn't say either player was better.’
And in the same post
‘Paige was always better.’
Where you use was in both?

Or when you use ‘is’

‘If I had a gun to my head, I'd say PB is better.’

So you have a ‘was’ better and an ‘is’ better.
but according to you, neither has been typed by you…… well until you tell us why you typed it.
I am not sure what motivates people to go to a team they don’t follow and troll like you do. Do you troll like this on your favorite teams board?
I will say your ‘read better’ direction has helped me point out your errors. Will you get more subtle or will it always be this easy?

OK, I can see where in, "I didn't say either player was better", the "was" can be confusing.

But if you follow the context, it was in response to Evil having posted, "CC > Paige". So perhaps sloppy wording there. But it's pretty much implied through context, that we were speaking of the comparison between the two players, at present.

Yes, if I had a gun to my head, I would say PB is better. But that's the closest thing I've said to saying PB is currently the better player.

It's all in this thread. Nice try again, I guess. Smh.

And I am a Hawkeye fan, you idiot

One player to watch is Olivia Miles, for the Lynx.

She looked like easily one of the best players in the league tonight.

The Mercury's defense was awful, as Miles was able to drive and pass through it like a hot knife on butter. But good Lord, she was a surgeon.

Would love to see what she looks like playing against the Valkyrie's D.

The Lynx are loaded whenever Phee comes back

There isn’t much confusion. This reading thing is paying dividends.
To summarize, you have typed both
Was better and is better. Whether it was a response to another poster or not or whether the moons were aligned or dogs and cats were living as one…………… you typed was better and just because the hypothetical gun was to your head, is better.
Since you feel skilled enough to teach the rest of us how to read better you can move on to typing better, be accurate and stop being dishonest in your posts. When you double down on it like you have you just appear to be a liar. Kind of like when you claim to be an Iowa fan.

Read better, bro.

All of this has been answered and clarified a couple times now.

I will not be wasting the time to do it again. And again, what's been laid out can still be found in the thread. So have fun with yourself.

And why the truck would you think I'm not an Iowa fan? You're really beginning to embarrass yourself. And I ask that you not make that claim again

I've watched the W enough to have been a profitable bettor at it all but three of years of it's existence.

What does this have to with anything regarding coaching, defensive adjustments, or anything basketball related? Hell, I've bet A'Ja and Plum overs on pts per game and I'm doing just fine.

If it wasn't so comically entertaining watching you troll everyone, you'd have been on ignore a long time ago.
I could not take it and put on "ignore" long ago. He/she is nauseating IMO.

So other than reading exactly what you typed, verbatim

‘Was better’ ‘is better’
‘Never said either is better’

what is there? Other than you are a liar. Keep bringing up other players to deflect away from this. It’s documented and it wasn’t even challenging.
Keep on with your ‘but I already addressed the fact that I typed exactly what I said I didn’t type because someone else typed something’
Keep trying though, order yourself a participation trophy for your shelf.

What he's trying to say is you said "was always" and "is" for the same reference point, and then tried to argue they mean two different things after the fact........when others would argue you could've done a better job of just clarifying that to begin with, but you intentionally chose not to.

"Was always" and "is" basically mean the same thing, and if you truly wanted to differentiate between the two.....for context, which you're on the record as saying you don't ever believe is necessary, and like a moronic troll will again try to reiterate why you don't believe context is necessary...............then again, you should've clarified the difference between saying "was always better" and "is better" in your initial post (which you didn't do), so that other people besides myself 😀 understand what the f*** you're trying to bullsh** them about.

Hope that helps for the future.....

😁

P.S. Just admit you made a grammatical mistake and write better next time, Nebraska fan.

Caitlin Clark is a negative defender and she’s getting isolated. It doesn’t help Kelsey Mitchell is also a bad defender.
They don’t just isolate Clark because she’s a bad defender…they do it to get favorable match ups and to get Clark in foul trouble. White’s defensive system lends itself to that easily, so teams exploit it. Portland did the same thing to Raven, who’s supposed to be a defensive wizard.

The conspiracy theorists will not let it die … Don’t pay attention to what they say. White is evil; they hate each other; White is doing everything in her power to limit Clark; Clark can’t wait to leave Indy, blah blah blah ….
Anybody who’s played sports knows the body language of a player that is not happy with a coach…CC displays that body language clearly. She may not dislike her as a person, but I would bet a pretty good amount of money she isn’t wild about her as a coach.

No, you are mixing two different distinctions that have had to be made. All of this has already been broken down and this is the last time I will be doing it.

First, to get out of the way my thoughts on context, which you are trying to catch me on. I'm on record saying context does not matter when it comes to the record book, and especially 26 year books. For example, people's opinions about strength of schedule mean jack squat. But I'm sure you already knew all that. So, nice try.

The first distinction that had to be made was when someone thought they were clever and were going to catch me in having said, "I never said PB IS better", by quoting my having previously said, "Paige WAS always better."

I can see how someone might not initially realize the distinction. But I can also see how anyone that's actually a careful reader, and doesn't have their panties all up in bunch, trying to catch Ole Eyes in a contradiction, would easily enough pick up on the distinction, given the context of the rest of the 2nd quote's paragraph, that is clearly discussing the years prior Paige's injury.

The 2nd distinction that had to be made, was when some clever no-life tried to catch me in a contradiction, where I had used "was", instead of more appropriately having used "is".

To that, I have already admitted to sloppy wording. And have shown it to have been in response to you having posted "CC > Paige". The greater than symbol is representative only of the present. Therefore, with that context, it could have easily enough been implied that I also was speaking of the comparison between the two players, at present.

When people stop nitpicking semantics and trying to ambush contradictions, is when I might start to wonder if the thoughts in my posts might be somewhat off-base.

And I'm going to give you a pass on calling me a Nebraska fan, even though your previously having been warned, based on the context of that previous warning having been in this thread, and it being obvious that you are only doing it now to be a jackass. But please stop

His “read better” admonishment depends on the circumstance. You are supposed to take what he says “verbatim”, until he gets exposed as in this case, and then he switches to “context”. Then he rambles on, moving the goalpost and deflecting.

He really is an Iowa fan, though.

Doesn't CC know Steph White hates her and is trying to rein her in?

My understanding is that Clark was angry that White refused to challenge some foul calls against her. There were about 3 fouls called on Clark where video shows she didn't even touch the other player. Honestly, this sort of heated exchange between star player and head coach isn't that unusual. It's just amplified because it's Caitlin Clark and every move she makes is analyzed and scrutinized. Fans are literally recording her on the bench with their phones every second of every game, in most cases because they're hoping to catch her doing something they can criticize her for on social media. No other player has to deal with that level of scrutiny.

As for the fouls, Raven Johnson was considered one of the best defenders in college basketball for the past four years and she had never fouled out of a game. She fouled out in 10 minutes against Portland. 10 minutes. In 50 years of watching basketball I've never seen a player foul out in 10 minutes of playing time. Clark was whistled for 5 fouls in 22 minutes. That's 11 fouls in 32 minutes called on Indy's point guards. That seemingly blurs the line between "point of emphasis" and "agenda".

Sorry, but its not a "conspiracy theory" to watch her body language and its not that hard to see she's not happy with some of what's going on. Explain to us how taking her "off the ball" more often, (taking the ball out of her hands), and then the idiocy of watching Boston, or even worse Hines_allen bring the ball up the floor, (drastically slowing the game), and watching her turn the ball over on 3 of 4 trips makes any sense whatsoever.
