Lolol.." What she's Good at". Yep, we saw it right there. Grabbing boards and getting her shot stuffed by the other team or the rim.
No doubt. Two of those were her picking the ball up off the floor after she got her shi-- stuffed by Jones.if that counts as 4 rebounds, that's just dumb.
I have zero confidence she has a true shot given the wnba woke politics and haters, JMOAgree, but my point here is that we still have 4 games left before they vote on MVP. Just saying that the writers and broadcasters will be looking at the players' entire "Body of work."
We weren’t talking about MVP. We were talking about POWER RANKINGS after her first 30 days where I quoted she was a top 5-10 player. This is idiotic. You’re violating your own critical. It’s a full year and shes more than made up for it. And her slow start is measured on the CC standard. Totality of the year and what she’s accomplished even with a “slow start” is even more impressive. MVP.
Or how about if Caitlin's teammates break from character and convert a good percentage of Caitlin's dimes and Caitlin has 20+ assists? If Clark continues bau AND has a game like tonight in one of the games against the Lynx, I think she could make a pretty compelling argument.
This is the thing that is insane. Her bar is so much higher than any other player in league history. But an injury and restricted minutes doesn’t cause a player to go from the top one or two in the league to 11th. The biggest thing that hurts Clark are unrealistic expectations by her fans and her haters. She’s doing things no other player in the history or the league has done and people shrug their shoulders and talk about her turnovers or she’s not shooting a high enough percentage.
I'd also be very surprised if AJa doesn't win it. Not saying she's not worthy of winning it, and I do think Mitchell and Clark are going to take votes from each other.I have zero confidence she has a true shot given the wnba woke politics and haters, JMO
What if everyone ever shoots 100%?Or how about if Caitlin's teammates break from character and convert a good percentage of Caitlin's dimes and Caitlin has 20+ assists?
I'm guessing we're all thinking for Caitlin and the team it's due.
Yep. Clarks SIXTH 30+ point , 10+assist game in less then 2 1/2 seasons worth of games. The rest of the ENTIRE WNBA has done that FOUR times in thirty years. This is the thing that is insane. Her bar is so much higher than any other player in league history.
This week she literally did a thing that no player in the history of the league had ever done. 30+pts and 10+ assists in the same game had never been accomplished more than once by a player other than her. She did it twice in the same week. And it isn’t like last week when they had 4 games, they only had 2 games this week. But all some people can talk about is some turnovers and missed shots. People rave about Aja Wilson, who is great. But, her FG% is less than 7% better than Clark’s this season. And that is as a post player compared to a guard. Many post players in the league are shooting better than her including Boston, Cardoso, Hamby, Shepard, and Howard who all average more than 10 shots per game. Yet, I don’t hear anyone complaining about Aja’s shooting or the fact that she takes more shots than anyone else in the league.
We’ll see where that puts her on the player of the week convo. Reese set the single game rebounding record on Monday this week, which would normally give her the award. But how do you argue with someone that averaged 35.5 points, 11 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals per game in a week?
Another thing to consider. Her turnovers have gone down each of the past three seasons. And she’s going to set career highs for FG% and 3pt%. Aside from the complaining about the refs, those are the two biggest complaints about her. And she’s getting better at them. Give her a couple more healthy seasons, and off seasons, of development and watch out. If her FG% was at 50% she’d be averaging about 24 points this season, even keeping the minutes restrictions she had for much of the season.
No one has such an expectation. Making some more bunnies would be nice though. Hull alone missed two or three point blank uncontested shots at the rim last night. What if everyone ever shoots 100%?
Yeah but it doesn’t count because it was against a bad team that was missing a couple of starters.Yep. Clarks SIXTH 30+ point , 10+assist game in less then 2 1/2 seasons worth of games. The rest of the ENTIRE WNBA has done that FOUR times in thirty years.
NO KIDDING!!!What if everyone ever shoots 100%?
It was sarcasm. No one has such an expectation. Making some more bunnies would be nice though. Hull alone missed two or three point blank uncontested shots at the rim last night.
I’m getting to the point where it’s top 5.Imagine thinking at any point in time that CC isn't a top 10 player in this league. I laugh
If the entire league opened up for a draft, Caitlin would be one of the first 3 players taken. IMO.Good thing MVP isn't based on 1-on-1 matchups.
I think everyone's vote should be strictly based on the following... If you were building your WNBA championship team THIS year, who would you pick first? Not who would win 1-on-1, not the best player on the best team, not who you'd build your franchise around for the next decade...
Not saying that makes Caitlin a LOCK over Aja, but it's gotta be one of those two.
KM is playing really well and the two of them are really clicking, but would anyone pick KM #1 to build that championship team?
Yeah, in 82 games..
A LOT of NBA players have done that, so not really a record.
That’s actually more comparable than comparing 40 to 82.I thought it was funny af bc of all the people saying Clark owns the men’s ncaa record too.
My wife and I were there. She was as pissed as if one of our own kids got assaulted. It is something to see "the show " in person. My wife and I spent a few days in Indy last year to catch a Fever game, and were fortunate to be there right after her first "injury break". She was great, and that was the "brawl" game with the Sun, with Clark and Sophie vs Mabry and Sheldon. Pretty rowdy crowd, especially after all that.
Right, but to me it was just a stupid petty joke. That’s actually more comparable than comparing 40 to 82.
If Wemby sprained his ankle in the preseason, and works through that injury, his numbers are down, during the first 30 games, are you saying he would NOT be a top 5 player in the league?? SGA?Ya she’s having a great season now. Not in the first 30 days.
Come on, people.
Spraining his ankle is different than coming off a season ending injury. She was also shooting 35%. We didn’t know if she would return to the same player she was at the end of 2024.If Wemby sprained his ankle in the preseason, and works through that injury, his numbers are down, during the first 30 games, are you saying he would NOT be a top 5 player in the league?? I ask as someone who would give the MVP to Aja. I just think your injury argument is kind of silly
From my view Angel was being boxed out as she jumped and that push was next to nothing. Should not be a T.Clearly, Angel is no angel. Scoreboard is a T, what a joke those in charge of this league are.
Ok…Wemby coming off a season ending injury…Spraining his ankle is different than coming off a season ending injury. She was also shooting 35%. We didn’t know if she would return to the same player she was at the end of 2024.
I pulled a quote from May 30 where I said she was top 5-10 player in the league at the time. Apparently that’s not good enough for some of you.
Not knowing what we know now, it was a justifiable ranking.
I didn’t see your quote, for the record.Spraining his ankle is different than coming off a season ending injury. She was also shooting 35%. We didn’t know if she would return to the same player she was at the end of 2024.

All this started was bc BroD said I didn’t think she was to 10 earlier in the season. It was a power ranking. I thought she was 5-10, and to be fair there were 5-10 players that started much better than Clark. She didn’t really get back into her current form for another 2 weeks.I didn’t see your quote, for the record.
That's an interesting question about a redraft. It depends upon what the redraft is for. A single season to try to win a championship? Or is it an expansion-style draft where you're building the future of your franchise?I’m getting to the point where it’s top 5.
If the entire league opened up for a draft, Caitlin would be one of the first 3 players taken. IMO.

I meant to restart the league. I should have clarified. That's an interesting question about a redraft. It depends upon what the redraft is for. A single season to try to win a championship? Or is it an expansion-style draft where you're building the future of your franchise?
The Clark naysayers say that Aja is easily #1 in a redraft. And I agree if you're drafting for a single season. But if you're drafting for the next 10 years is that the case? Aja is 30 years old and playing in her 9th season. We've seen the peak of her and at some point she will come back down to earth. It is likely that she declines from being annual MVP-caliber within the next 3-4 years. Probably still all-star until 35 though. So you're looking at a half-decade of high performance barring injury.
Clark is 24 and in her 3rd season. She's got 2-4 years of getting better athletically before women typically peak at around 26-28. From there she will need to slow the athletic decline while improving her skills and court savvy. Barring injuries you're looking at all-star to MVP caliber play for a decade.
So, who do you take? A player with a few more years as an MVP candidate, and an additional few more years as an all-star? Or a player with around a decade ahead of her as an MVP candidate?
It would be like saying do you take Jordan in 1995? Or do you take Shaq? You can't really go wrong with either player. Both brought multiple titles to their teams after that year.
She would be 2 behind Aja.I’m getting to the point where it’s top 5.
If the entire league opened up for a draft, Caitlin would be one of the first 3 players taken. IMO.
I'd also be very surprised if AJa doesn't win it. Not saying she's not worthy of winning it, and I do think Mitchell and Clark are going to take votes from each other.
