Prob bc when Aja had Clark 1 on 1 with the game on the line, Aja came out looking like gold and Clark did not. What im saying is that the automatic choice for Aja needs to be scrutinized. Why Aja over Cc?

She sure did!I hope she had wonderful time![]()
What?Prob bc when Aja had Clark 1 on 1 with the game on the line, Aja came out looking like gold and Clark did not.
You watched that sequence and came out of it thinking Clark was better than A’ja?What?
Are you being serious?
The more I look at it the more
I think CC as MVP is more than justified.
Imagine crowning someone Queen of the WNBA when they were fresh off a season ending injury and shooting 35%.Imagine thinking at any point in time that CC isn't a top 10 player in this league. I laugh

Or would pass more.I miss the days when people said the Fever would be better without Mitchell.
So we would rather base votes off hypotheticals than something that has happened in reality?Good thing MVP isn't based on 1-on-1 matchups.
I think everyone's vote should be strictly based on the following... If you were building your WNBA championship team THIS year, who would you pick first? Not who would win 1-on-1, not the best player on the best team, not who you'd build your franchise around for the next decade...
Not saying that makes Caitlin a LOCK over Aja, but it's gotta be one of those two.
KM is playing really well and the two of them are really clicking, but would anyone pick KM #1 to build that championship team?
Sounds like you're the one who is getting all sensitive there sandyImagine crowning someone Queen of the WNBA when they were fresh off a season ending injury and shooting 35%.
look, I like Clark. I watch all her games. I just think some of y’all over glaze her and then get all sensitive when people don’t fall in line and agree.
Her first month was Top 10-15 player-worthy. Maybe 5-10 at best. But saying she was top 3 in her first month is just over the top.
What im saying is that the automatic choice for Aja needs to be scrutinized. Why Aja over Cc?

A’ja has better stats, and A’ja shut her down with a crucial game on the line.
nice.
Ok, you’re correct, I think she’s the best player in this league. Does she sell out arenas on the road? Does she cause teams to change to bigger venues at home so they can make more money? Does she drive 80 percent of her team’s offense? Who’s most valuable to not only their team, but MVP of this league?1) Aja is one of the best offensive players in the game.
2) CC is one of the best offensive players in the game.
3) Aja is one of the best defensive players in the game.
4) CC is a below average defensive player in the game
5) CC's #s against the 3 best teams she faces: 17 PPG, 44% FG, 26% 3, 7.5 APG, 5.2 TOPG
6) Aja's #s against the 3 best teams she faces: 24.1 PPG, 11 RPG, 48% FG
7) This season Aja has a higher FG%, higher 3PT%, higher FT%, higher eFG%, higher PER, higher W/S.
CC's slow start to this season is obviously a reason for some of these #s, but it is a season long award, not just a random period of time.
It is funny, because they sure call that on Boston most of the time.....Really wish basketball officials would figure out a way to NOT reward offensive players for just lowering their shoulders and creating ALL the contact.
That call on Hall was ridiculous
One of the criteria for the award, and please correct me if I'm in error, is how valuable the player is to the team and how a team performs. Clark aces that test. However, the naysayers will always disagree by pointing out the turnovers. But a player who generates the amount of points that she does, has to receive heavy consideration. The Fever have a winning record, and Clark is responsible for helping to generate those wins in a large way. Not saying she'll win, but what she does when she's healthy, and being allowed to play with pace and orchestrate the offense, she's right there with the frontrunners.Good thing MVP isn't based on 1-on-1 matchups.

And another all time record. ONLY WNBA player with 800+ points and 300+ assists in any season.Clark well on her way to another 25pt double double. Crazy

Was thinking the same thing. She'll be seeing that 22 in her sleep again tonight...HVL having flashbacks of the elite eight
Excellent point(s).Ok, you’re correct, I think she’s the best player in this league. Does she sell out arenas on the road? She's really put herself legitimately in the conversation..I think CC is the league MVP
Shirley you are joking, right?.
A LOT of NBA players have done that, so not really a record.
I agree with the announcer saying it will be good for her to work with the staff during the break, both on conditioning, and getting in the flow of their offense. She could help them 6 or 7 minutes a game against some of the bigger teams in the playoffs.Russell has looked good this game.
I was proud of you. But now, it's 2 steps forward, and 1 step back. Comparing the W to the NBA?????.

I thought it was funny af bc of all the people saying Clark owns the men’s ncaa record too.I was proud of you. But now, it's 2 steps forward, and 1 step back. Comparing the W to the NBA?????

It is something to see "the show " in person. My wife and I spent a few days in Indy last year to catch a Fever game, and were fortunate to be there right after her first "injury break". She was great, and that was the "brawl" game with the Sun, with Clark and Sophie vs Mabry and Sheldon. Pretty rowdy crowd, especially after all that.My ex-wife who I share four daughters with is at the game….. she has stage 4 incurable cancer and is a big Fever fan
Her Brother took her to tonight’s game……. I couldn’t be happier for her to watch their performance tonight in person….. Caitlin’s a positive force in so many ways that usually go unnoticed
Btw Reese beat Clark to 8 techs.
I’ll claim this one about bringing her up first.
?? Is that how the MVP is chosen, in a game of one on one, and whose the more physically imposing athlete? Who knew? I guess Chocolate Thunder Dawkins should have one a couple of MVP's....You watched that sequence and came out of it thinking Clark was better than A’ja?
NEEEEIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN!Good timing for her....won't have to play MN this weekend and can get packing for Germany.
JFC, why does it always seem to come to someone being an ***!.
A LOT of NBA players have done that, so not really a record.
FIRST player in the HISTORY of the WNBA with 800+ points and 300+ assists in ANY season. Glaze away.....Imagine crowning someone Queen of the WNBA when they were fresh off a season ending injury and shooting 35%.

the original question wasn’t about MVP it was about “Why Aja over Clark” and what better reason than a head to head in the spotlight??? Is that how the MVP is chosen, in a game of one on one, and whose the more physically imposing athlete? Who knew? I guess Chocolate Thunder Dawkins should have one a couple of MVP's....
Ya she’s having a great season now. Not in the first 30 days.FIRST player in the HISTORY of the WNBA with 800+ points and 300+ assists in ANY season. Glaze away.....
AND missing games with her back and then being on a minutes restrictions for a couple of weeks.Incredible to think she did that while playing so shiddy for a month! Wow!
