Does the w go out of their way to find a way to distract from CC every single time she has a record breaking game? Jeebus people.
In a way I would say yes.

They have been clear from their inception that they are an "activist league" and as such doesn't much care what their growing audience thinks about their social agenda.

I wouldn't say it happens often but players can request stadium security remove fans who are being disrespectful. CC requested a fan get kicked out of a playoff game against Connecticut her Rookie year. Westbrook got a fan kicked out of a game in Utah. There were a couple incidents in the MLB last year.
Not disagreeing with that, but was the "disrespect " just his shirt? It looked like Cloud went after him before he reacted. That's not what happened with Clark her rookie year.

I'd suggest there is such a thing as a "mediocre" NBA players, just like there are in every other professional sport.

But I do agree the whole thing is a circus.
It's the very definition of the phrase "two things can be true at once."
1) By NBA standards, it can be argued he was a marginal (or "mediocre") talent, 11 years of getting paid notwithstanding.
2) By general basketball standards it can be argued he's far superior to 99+ percent of Earthlings who ever played the game at any level.

11 years in the NBA, worth over $40M. Sounds like a failure to me. Too bad he didn't do anything meaningful with his life.

What about WNBA standards?

Nobody has to like his methods, but he's proving a point we've all talked about anyways for years.

I wasn't gonna post the above, but you didn't drop the topic, so......

The problem with the WNBA isn't transgender athletes.

It's hypocrisy. And it's been a huge f***ing problem pretty much since the league's inception, and only got worse as the sport grew more and more niche and insular.

Guys like Enes Kanter, who is absolutely 100% playing the troll, wouldn't seek this kind of attention if the WNBA was run like a serious organization................

You know this.
Well said Evil. Kanter and White are the side show, but the WNBA is Barnum and Bailey and they brought this circus to town......

Again, how many trans players are currently playing? And I believe you've said there has been 1 but that's also a little unclear. You're all about the whatism's going on. There are currently zero playing. The only people that seem bothered about basically a non issue ( zero players) are guys like you that aren't playing.
First of all Look up Layshia Claredon who played in the league from 2013 to 2024. Non binary, transgender-adjacent born a woman and had "top surgery" and identified as a male starting in 2020. Several articles also say that they believe there have been other non binary or trans players but none of them came out as Claredon did in 2020.

The fact that there are zero playing (if that's true, isn't the point i'm making and never has been). Its that every governing body of every sport and the IOC, and the NCAA has all come out CLEARLY, and drawn the line in the sand, to protect women from having to play against biological men. So why can the WNBA not follow suit. WHY?

As for the "nobody whose playing Cares", is it really your statement that none of the players in the W would like some assurance that there will be no biological males playing in their league? Really? I guess there's one way to find out just how inclusive the league is. Let Kantor (as big of a clown show this is), enter the draft, and have a team draft him, and see how that goes over.

Bonner leaving the Mercury...seeking a playoff team to try and get a ring.
Assuming she doesn't have the clout in the league that she thinks she does, there shouldn't be a single one among the playoff contending teams that picks her up before the season ends.

The only one that would be truly desperate enough is Washington and that's because they currently have zero chance against whoever they get paired with (not that Bonner is really gonna swing things at this point).

Minnesota, Golden State, and even Vegas and Atlanta are just fine with where they're at and won't just hand her a roster spot so that she can ride the coattails of whatever success they may have this year.

She thinks the sisterhood will back her play...........I guess we'll see if one of the playoff teams decides to meet our already low expectations of their character.

(And watch, the Indiana front office will pick her up just to manufacture more drama despite everyone assuming there isn't a chance in hell they would be the ones to actually bring her back)

With all this turmoil that started with one player who, OFF COURT, stated her opinion, it just reinforces for me that players, and now coaches too, shouldn't be dragging their politics onto the playing surface before or during a game.

That is all.
Unfortunately, the league identified ITSELF as an agenda-driven league, compounded by the fact that Supreme Court Justice Katanji Brown Jackson would not/could not define what a woman was. The league has opened it's own "Pandora's Box" by advocating for Social Justice Issues. By doing so, they have "Mailed" invitations to those with dissenting views.

The WNBA is often viewed as an agenda-driven league, particularly in its advocacy for social justice and player empowerment. The league has made significant efforts to address issues such as racial equality, gender rights, and mental health awareness, positioning itself as a platform for activism. This focus has garnered both support and criticism, with some arguing that it detracts from the sport itself.

It's a serious issue that needs serious attention and policy solutions by serious people. This clown Kanter and Royce White declaring for the WNBA draft is just attention-seeking nonsense by idiots who most people couldn't pick out of a lineup. And just to be clear, I have zero faith in Englebert stepping up and doing anything because she's been a complete flop as a commish.

The fan called Clark the C word and he was allowed to stay….but wear the wrong shirt, and you’re gone. Fans are allowed to troll players, it’s up to the players to ignore it. By all accounts, Enes did not use profanity or say anything close to the C word.

So doesn’t it make more sense to deal with the issue before there is one rather than after the fact when it’s too late? Either allow it or don’t, pretty easy solution to the problem. And why do we have WNBA players saying the trans issue is the most important thing they need to get taken care of at this point? The players/coaches that are for it are the ones pushing the agenda.

That doesn't make anything I said in my post untrue. He was a mediocre player at best. He tried getting into the WWE. He craves attention. And IMO he's a total clown. Even if I agree with Sophie's position on this, he's doing that argument zero favors through his ridiculous actions of trying to declare for the WNBA draft. Just attention seeking and stupid.
He’s forcing the WNBA’s hand, which no one else seems to be doing, so not all that ridiculous.

Then why say he’s a washed up NBA player…what does that have to do with anything?
Because IMO it's directly related to his craving for attention. He was a bust as an NBA player relative to where he was drafted, so he didn't get attention as an NBA player. Then he tried to join the WWE, that didn't work. Now he's inserting himself into the Sophie Cunningham drama because he wants the attention.

I never said they weren't. I just said nobody talks or cares about the mediocre players in the NBA, and this guy needs attention.

1. Attack the person, not the idea.
2. Washed-up NBA player isn't exactly an insult. So he was one of the top 500 basketball players in the world for 11 years and make Million$, but his career is now over? Wow, that's bad.

So your “he wasn’t a great player so he needs attention” is a much better take (eye roll).

Who knows. Kanter clearly loves attention and I don't think it's a stretch to say getting thrown out might have been his goal all along. So I wouldn't be shocked if he was trying to provoke a reaction.

On the other hand Cloud is very outspoken in her own right and a bit of a hot head.

Dave Portnoy is a more controversial figure than Kanter and he's sat courtside for at least one Fever game against Angel Reese and there wasn't any incident. I guess I have a hard time believing Enes was twiddling his thumbs and Cloud flipped out unprovoked

Well at least there was a connection to my logic. Lol.

I say he craves attention, he was a mediocre NBA player at best and didn't get attention there, so he finds other ways to get attention, hence his attempts at the WWE and inserting himself into the Sophie Cunningham situation.

You say well even as a mediocre player that still makes him better than most of the planet.

Ummm, ok? Lol.

It's ok for us to disagree on this by the way.

I really don't know. The only thing I've seen is that Kanter was applauding Sophie making a three, and then Cloud went into her tirade, screaming at Kantor" she's never going to sleep with you" as one of the cleaner things she said.

Okay. As I said, I don't know much about the guy. Many here think he's only doing this and other things to get attention. I would say that makes him a pretty big A-- hat. Yes? So the guys been awarded 15 international humanitarian awards (some by some pretty prestigious entities). Was this all just so he could gather attention for himself?
