That tells me you’re basically on the floor like a child throwing a fit. Very productive.Yeah it does, it says that many of us don’t even care who we hire at this point as long as Cal is GONE!

How do the boosters view all this ? I know the fans need to put the pressure on but if the boosters are starting to feel like most of us fans then that is when they start pressuring the people that matter! In response to both of your posts.
Yes, Cal can still be removed, but it will take an NIT this year and a bad season next year. That's probably going to happen.
Cal will leave on his own if he thinks this is coming. His brand in the only thing that's important to him. He'll land in the NBA.
If the fans apply mad pressure, which they are about to, his hand becomes even more forced. Changing will not happen with John Calipari. You have to think you're doing wrong to change, he doesn't. Cal is doing exactly what he wanted to do.
1. Be the go to guy for NBA players
2. Cement a legacy as the guy who coaches OAD's
3. Make a **** ton of money doing it
This is how his story was meant to be written. Cal stopped caring about wins and losses a long time ago, he cares about his personal crusade to be the NBA players coach, regardless of outcomes.
It turned into being about relationships with Cal after 2010. He was able to win because he landed top 3 players. That's over, but his point is still to have these relationships. It's just about his lifestyle.
I hate it, Cal suckered a lot of people with this crap.

It’s an “impossible task” for the reason already discussed: Cal’s contract. We’re on the hook to pay him around 10 million per year through the year 2029. You’re nuts if you think UK can just eat such an insane obligation while also paying a new coach. We’re rich, but not THAT rich.I don't understand why so many of you pretend this is some impossible task.
Huh? We don’t have any players playing from last season?More “real” than Cal’s ability to coach. He’s out of excuses. There’s ZERO excuse for how this year has gone. We’d be 3-1 with any other coach with the roster we have. Most of our players have got worse since last year.
I've said it 100 times, I'd hire Beard tomorrow without a second thought. I'd go through the process of reaching out tot he obvious coaches and gauge interests. Nobody can pay what UK can, and nobody will. This is the Oval Office of college basketball.

Unless and until the issue of Cal’s contract is dealt with, the option of hiring a new coach is off the table.
Did anyone point out that UK had just lost to an 0-2 team that didn't even have complete practices due to covid-19 protocols? Or did they just let him create his own narrative like they always do? Where was Tipton?Cal complained about the schedule again tonight after the game, as if we had played Duke rather than the worst team in the ACC.
I worry about Beard handling everything that UK requires off the court and while we know recruiting would take a hit regardless who we get, whoever comes in is going to have to recruit beyond a state or region.
Chris Beard. The guy can take a squad full of transfers and mold them into a good team at a non power school. Can you imagine what he could do with better players?I think Bozo is dead. Who else?
This isn’t rocket science boys. The fact that no one has a reasonable answer to this straightforward question speaks volumes.
How about you name one worse? UK has been beaten three straight by traditional nobodies and looked bad doing it. I feel sorry for Morehead State.Name 5
Well as can be expected ole stupid shows up and starts yet another dumb posJust checking in to see if it’s time.
Cal has lost his fire for sure, Beard would be a huge upgrade as far as in game coaching.Chris Beard. The guy can take a squad full of transfers and mold them into a good team at a non power school. Can you imagine what he could do with better players?
Stupid is your middle name JuniorWell as can be expected ole stupid shows up and starts yet another dumb pos
Gee....would a good young coach want the best job in college basketball?Who ya gonna hire there bub?
behind the scenes I just wonder what the UK prez and Barnhart of thinking.
This can't be what they signed up for and I'm not talking about the losing at the moment.
Cal will leave once his ego is bruised enough by embarrassment. Whether that embarrassment stems from recruiting, team results, fan anger or apathy, or a good helping of each, that is when he will leave and not before.Well, that’s a nice thought, but I think you’re nuts if you truly believe Carl’s gonna walk away from the crazy money still owed on that contract just “to do the right thing.” People don’t walk away from a guaranteed $70-$80 million. Would you?
The only way I could see Cal leaving is if an NBA team offered him a comparable amount. But I don’t see that happening, as Cal is no longer the hot commodity he was several years ago.
LIke it or not, UK and Cal are probably stuck together for years to come, even if the two sides don’t really want it that way. That contract binds us together, it makes it impossible for us to fire him, and he’s still owed too much to walk away.
Fair enough but if you think the reaction is over 3 games, you've been pulling a Rip Van Winkle for a few years.Rick Pitino was running whores in the dorms and kept his job. We want to fire Cal for a three game skid. Makes sense.
Cal needs to change. He is not stupid. Either he figures it out or he doesn’t. If he doesn’t, him leaving works itself out. If he does, I like our chances. I will take his winning percentage over just about every active coach out there. Not every coach out there can come in and have your team winning titles in three years, so be careful what you wish for. A brand new coach can take years to field the type of team that many on here long for.
I don’t think firing is the solution. Cal is a winner. He didn’t get where he is without adapting.
We have another Jackson sidelined with an injury. Let’s get him back before we completely write this team off.
Fair enough but if you think the reaction is over 3 games, you've been pulling a Rip Van Winkle for a few years.
Well, Beard will be at Kansas and we can compete against him then. That’s exactly what’s coming. Hope some of you are right and he’s a bad choice. I don’t see it.I have been impressed with what I have seen from Oats. Beard is not the answer Morg. Too soon for him. There would be plenty of applications if Cal left which I hope he does.

No, I know it is larger than the last three games, but we didn't see half of the threads on the board about Cal being gone at the end of last year. They have increased tremendously with the last few games.
Correct. I’m just tired of ugly basketball almost every year until March. It’s become unenjoyable and unwatchable.Fair enough but if you think the reaction is over 3 games, you've been pulling a Rip Van Winkle for a few years.
The boosters I know never liked Cal to begin with.
Let me rephrase.@morgousky - this is weird statement. How many “bosters” do you know. You stated “never like Cal to begin with.” No way. I dont pretend to know tons of boosters, but I have talked to someone who was integral in the hiring of Cal. Trust me, the booster base was clamoring for Cal, and it wasn’t a secret. They overwhelmingly loved him and wanted him here before BCG. Maybe the one or two you know didn’t fit into that mantra? Crazy talk.
Beard would be a fantastic choice. I would be beside myself. Back to team concepts, Kentucky first, a hungry young proven coach, and one of the best in the game right now.
He's at TT, so we've yet to see what this guy is capable of. If we want him, you better get him before Kansas does.
We could only hope. Anyone watching this hot mess and doesn’t see major losing season is not being honest with themselves. Cal is just a pathetic x/o’s coach really bad and he’s being completely exposed.Won’t have to. He’ll bolt to the Knicks in the spring after a losing season.
