Is Cal getting out coached in this game ? I think he is.
The team is playing scared. No excuse for this.
I don't want to think that we've been had, but Cal is supposed to be above-average with most teams.
He's a hall of fame coach for crying out loud. You can't make these guys play like its 2012 again over night....but I do think its pitiful to be losing like this. We played well against Kansas at certain times, we just got to figure out how to do that all the time.

We have a lot of talent but they just do not know how to execute plays and that is all on Cal.
He's awful. So tired of the excuses. Just bad basketball year after year after year. And it's getting progressively worse. Someone needs to step up and plant some for sale signs on his lawn ASAP.

stop with this go to stupid question. UK had 8 titles with 5 different coaches so it’s obvious there are plenty of other coaches who can and would win at UK.this is the mistake cal has made He tried to elevate himself and the players above the greatest program in Cbb. That was a bad move

At this point anyone else with a pulse. It makes me sick even looking at him anymore.
There are a out 50 better coaches out there. Heck Most mid majors have better game coaches

We’ll see how the season plays out. They’re on the verge of digging themselves quite a hole however. The SEC is not terrible this year.

More “real” than Cal’s ability to coach. He’s out of excuses. There’s ZERO excuse for how this year has gone. We’d be 3-1 with any other coach with the roster we have. Most of our players have got worse since last year.
And to think I used to believe this guy was a modern day Rupp...

He’s got a “lifetime“ contract that guarantees him around $10 million per year through the year 2029.
So, NO, we absolutely cannot fire him even if we wanted to, as nobody could pay that buyout. That crazy extension Mitch gave him made him unfireable for a looong time to come. Cal now has all the leverage and UK by the balls.
It’s a valid question. If Cal is gone tomorrow, who you gonna hire? Better make sure it’s an upgrade.
Lose this game and I think it’s the beginning of the end of the Cal era.

I also think it's true that this board is vastly overrating Calipari in 2020. Most coaches don't end up as good as they could have been. Many take the pride plunge and that's what I think happened to Cal. Just too prideful, he oversimplified the game to a point where the teams are soft and under prepared, and he just isn't willing to make necessary changes.
I hate it. I wish for a quick turnaround in some way.

UK fans, more so than anyone, knows bad basketball when they see it.

in a vaccuum, he deserves to be fired for this season's performance. This is not a vacuum, however he needs to come out and say after the game that this is not what kentucky basketball is and he apologizes for the product on the floor.

This isn’t rocket science boys. The fact that no one has a reasonable answer to this straightforward question speaks volumes.
I would hire Nate Oates in a second. Style is uptempo, plays hard. Hell anyone will recruit well at Kentucky if they work at it and are hungry. Cal is done. Admit it. This ain’t Kentucky basketball.

Let's admit one thing, there is a reason Cal goes out and get's these over hyped 5 star players, the guy can not coach or develop lower rated players. I have been done with his antics and his BS for some time.. this game is the end of the line for me..This is not the Kentucky I have watched since 1967..He has turned this program in his own personal **** show, He can leave anytime he wants as far as I am concerned. .
no it’s a stupid question. This isn’t cal 2010 this is cal 2020 on cruise control and there are at least 30 coaches who would do a better job at this point. Was Bcg an upgrade over tubby? Hell no and tubby was the same burned out and stubborn to change he was run out by the fan base and tubby never had a season like this. This season is basically over from a success standpoint. Now it’s playing just to make the tournament which is unlikely with this loss blow out.
I think most are fed up, and this year is looking like the tipping point. I’m honestly okay with it. We need a different mindset of coach and players.
If I read or hear that ANY of these players are going be one and done, I will throw up.
