I'd guess fickel or Marcus Freeman.I'm shocked he's leaving Notre Dame. I guess this opens the door for Campbell to Notre Dame right?

Where does that leave Peetz? Can’t wait to see what staff goes with him.
I'm not hearing his name. Not saying it won't happen, but I'd bet on Freeman tbh. Everyone loves him. If he got it, he'd go from Hazells DC to ND head coach in 5 years.Or Matt Campbell?
Nice hire. Well organised, usually puts a good product on the field. I doubt they could have done better. But man, that schedule will be a lot different than what he’s been use to at ND
If it's about the money, then he can put up with three years at Baton RougeNice hire. Well organised, usually puts a good product on the field. I doubt they could have done better. But man, that schedule will be a lot different than what he’s been use to at ND
Mike Riley was a splash hire. Turds splash when hitting the waterThis is a splash hire
I’m thinking substantial hair lossIf it's about the money, then he can put up with three years at Baton Rouge
Still plenty of quality coaches out there. The main surprise moves are elite coaches jumping from one elite school to another, so this has very little effect on who we thought was available in the first place.Damn this 2021 coaching carousel is wild, probably had to hold on to Frost out of necessity. We could have very well been left out in the cold with all the movement going on.
Let's half owsells ahn beeg ol reevah dawnse!!!Ha. I can't believe the Irish dude would leave his cushy Irish gig in South Bend.
If that's true that's ridiculous. Saban and Dabo don't even deserve that kind of money.Rumored 10 years, $150 million. Good god.
Good luck to the man, but I don't see him challenging for the alpha spot in the SEC....he's probably somewhere between the 3rd-best and the 5th-best coach in his own division and he's never seen anything in terms of consistent competition like he's slated to see in the SEC West. You got to be kidding. Kelly is a pretty good coach. Now that he won't be restricted by ND's entrance requirements and he will be able to cheat like the rest of the SEC I think he will do alright.
At home crying in his bowl of lucky charms.Where's that one domer dunce that hangs around here?
Lol. At this rate Alabama gonna throw out 50 million a year to Saban and everybody gonna be likeThis once again shows fiscal conservatism doesn't work in this day and age of college football and those schools who refuse to pay up will continually get left behind. The schools that want to compete are the ones spending the big bucks.
I don't think that's the end all of his compensation though. The reports are he was making around 7mil a yr. Total compensation. Contract, shoe, radio media deals etc....ND was only paying Kelly $2.5 million.
Well then I will humbly submit my application. I literally pulled out ALL the stops...Notre Dame considers it a privilege that they allow you to coach their team - I can see why it might run him the wrong way. Aside from actually winning a National title he has had as much or more success than anyone coaching
Still plenty of "quality" coaches? Who? I guess you cold say there are several tiers, Elite, quality and the rest. For sure, there aren't many in that Elite category.Still plenty of quality coaches out there. The Amish will make you run at Fickell. They don’t like to share though.
Fickell, Campbell, Mullen, and Aranda were considered the top tier throughout the season and are still out there. You could maybe throw Herman or Brady in that group as well. Literally nothing would have changed for our choices just because a few top coaches switched from one elite school to another. Also we would have had the jump on a coach while Oklahoma and Notre Dame have been left out in the cold. Nothing's changed really.Still plenty of "quality" coaches? I can't imagine the turmoil on this board alone if Nebraska was looking for a HC in all this mess. The mods couldn't keep up and the "I heard" posts would be coming relentlessly. The interesting thing is all we can do is sit back, get some popcorn and watch the fun begin.
