They did, they structured it so that it’s only ever technically a 5 year contract (in perpetuity) vs. say paying a 10y buyout like Cal’s. It’s actually a decent deal for a “lifetime” contract.Kansas gives Bill Self a lifetime contract.
Wouldn’t you think they would dodge this mistake after what happened to us.
Don’t you find it sad to always be touting something fake? Helms banners. A “championship” built from analytics or poll results instead of on-court achievements. I get it. It’s embarrassing to have so few real championships. But you can’t just make them up.

I'm not sure our roster is depleted yet. We played this year without a point guard and no depth. Now we are bringing in Bobby Pettiford, are the favorites for TyTy Washington and have 4 post players in this class to back up McCormack
I think it gives KU a 5 year option to back out. If we don't, then it rolls another 5. Just actually saying what you are, but a different way.
If KU has 6 titles then UK has 12. Even better.

I consider there to be three Blue Bloods (us, UNC, and KU).
KU, if for no other reason than the greatest coaches at UK and UNC grew up and played at KU.
Duke, IU, UCLA, Villanova are on a distant second tier.
