All you need to know about Kansas basketball:

They hang GIANT BANNERS 'awarded' by a California bread company 30 years after the fact, for championships never played, to hide the fact that they have accomplished so little on the court.

theyre not even that big

How do you feel about the contract? Most UK fans aren't in favor of Cal's. As in any profession, people rise, but eventually fall.

I'll ride & die with Coach Self. As for the NCAA stuff who the F knows what they are gonna do. How they handled the North Carolina infractions & how they won't even look into the Duke Zion recruitment shows how corrupt they are.

It was done simply to help in recruiting until the investigation passes. To indicate to kids that Self isn't going anywhere.
KU's recruiting is gonna continue to suffer till the ncaa stuff comes down. But yea, its one less thing he has to combat.

There’s a slim chance that if, and that’s a BIG if, the NCAA grows a pair that they actually hammer the Cheathawks worse for keeping a known cheater. You I know.....wishful thinking.

If I’m Cal and I’m reading this, I’m going back to my grey area recruiting from Memphis. The mistake that was made at Memphis and UMASS is the school admitted it. Also, if any school ever admits fault from here on our they deserve whatever punishment comes their way.

The Emory package would have been a cake walk in this type environment.

Good for KU. When schools start to fight the NCAA, everyone benefits.
Nothing major will happen to schools under investigation.

You were told this 2 years ago.

If you think you have one of the 5 best coaches, why would you fire him over NCAA sanctions? He will get a coaching job again in the future while you are stuck with an inferior coach. That predicament seems minor compared to the risk of having to pay 1 or a series of inferior coaches.

The NCAA is the schools.

NCAA Board of Governors

The schools would be suing themselves if they sue the NCAA. Mark Emmert is their puppet. Everybody yells at him while the schools sit back, relax, and get away with this dog and pony show.

Well deserved. He took a poop team to R2. And last year he pulled off something that hasn’t happened and won’t ever: swept all the Final rankings

How about leading and getting the rules changed to something sensible?
I'm all for changing rules to improve things. This is budget than that. This is selective enforcement of established rules. We lost a ton of revenue 30 years ago over the hammering we took. If these schools skate, the NCAA needs to be blown up and reformed as another entity.

What happened to us?
Let’s see we have a huge lifetime contract to a coach that’s a notch or two below average in coaching & and that can’t get the players he used to and that just led us to 9.

9 wins total not titles btw

The members of the NCAA Board of Governors are representatives from schools with three external invites. If the leaders of the next group are representatives from schools what will change? Who else will the schools allow to lead an organization like the NCAA except themselves? Congress, the land of clowns, are the only ones who could really change this and that grilling of Emmert a couple of years was a monumental joke. Emmert got on his private jet and cracked the most expensive scotch he owns and celebrated after that dog and pony show.

For sure, gotta make the tournament to be humiliated by 34 points by a team multiple seeds lower, good point.
We were WAY over seeded IMO. WAY.
This Kansas team was very average. Granted, KU beat Uk early, but your squad improved over the season. Our squad pretty much stayed the same.

If we played today, I think Kentucky wins.
And USC was no joke and they proved it. Those kids can play.

Good point and completely true.
BUT...the KU program currently stands only 4 wins behind UK on the All-time list. If the Jayhawks are tossing out lifetime contracts then, one would expect they have very little fear of sanctions from the NCAA.
Some on this board seem to be assuredly certain that KU will never pass UK because the NCAA will force them to vacate several wins. Apparently, KU thinks otherwise.

Wow big middle finger to ncaa
The ncaa is not going to do anything to any of these schools that bring in huge amounts of money for the ncaa. They will just burn small schools like Idaho, Eastern Illinois, and Georgia State for going to see a player to many times or some crap like that, but they are not going to touch big schools like Kansas, LSU, or Arizona, no matter what they do. Louisville was the sacrifical lamb. They burnt them so Emmert could say, see we punish big schools too. They will not do anything to Kansas, LSU, or Arizona. Just wait and see. I will believe they get punished when I see it and not one minute before. Don't believe it, Just look an North Carolina.

UK, Duke, UNC, and Kansas were all god awful in this extremely bizarre year. I think we can all agree to just scrub it from our memories and move on.

See you early next year when we pass you on the all times win list.

I’m not usually aggressive on a Board upon which I am a respectful contributing KU fan. But COME ON! Not a blue blood!?
Pass us? With your depleted roster? HAHHAHAHAHA, stay mad. A blue blood with 3 titles, 15 FFS, 3-9 in title games?!????

Embarrassing.
