Look forward to having the early games to watch. Do not look forward to the absurd hyperbole used to hype the hell out of every one of those teams. "They are 2,936 time Canadian D3 national champions!!" 😆

Look I know bbn travels well but coming off a 9-16 season and st Pete’s loss even the most diehard rich fans have to think twice before paying this ticket price

It'll still be packed probably. Even with people thinking twice.

I would not go if they paid me $100 per game and all expenses paid, and that’s not a lie. There’s no bigger true blue fan than me, but sometimes you have to make a statement. I know some will go, but I know MANY that laugh at the notion of going to that with all that’s went down.

lol, "all that's gone on" like we're U of L or something. Poor baby.

It's definitely too expensive for the average fan, but they won't have any trouble selling spots.

Wait.. if king rooms are $399 a night.. and tickets are total of $400.. how the hell does the price get over $6,200? There's at least $2,500 unaccounted for... and brefast vouchers don't cover that.

Yeah assuming this doesn't include drinks, food, and airfare.. this is a 5-figure trip.

Just read on the Baja Mar Hyatt Covid protocol that if you test positive when departing for home, you have to stay 10-14 days or until you test negative. The Baja Mar will give $150 worth of food a day for free but you have to pay for the room which is $350-$500/day. That scares the CRAP out of me!!!!

I have been on this trip the last 2 times UK went when it was at the Atlantis and had a great time. it wasn't this expensive. But the little gym they played in last time was the size of a elementary gym. You could walk on the floor underneath the baskets while they warmed up and everyone was cool.

However, with the high price and the fear I have of testing positive and having to stay longer making the cost more than $15 Grand, I'll sit this one out.

Bahamas' covid restrictions are no joke. You leave the resort and you have to wear a mask indoors.. and some places don't even let you open the door without one. Many of the locals are walking around, outside, with masks... I was actually one of the only people outside who wasn't. And this was only a few weeks ago.

The only other thing I see is airport transfers and “tailgate party”. Prices are based on double occupancy. Basketball tickets- $400 x 2, rooms are $2793. X 2. 6 nights, not all inclusive = a no for me.

The best part about this insanely expensive trip is that Calipari probably won’t even coach, he hasn’t the past two trips.

Yeah their "extras" don't amount to much. Cab fare, breakfast.

I see, so the rooms aren't really just $399/night, it's closer to $1,000/night. Problem is that, the Baha Mar is super expensive, and you pay for your own drinks and food. The game tickets aren't so bad.. its that the hotel for 6 nights is nearly $6,000.

Just go play in Florida somewhere and let people book the hotel they want.. cheap or expensive.

Seems really expensive, especially compared to my budget for the last time I went (with the historically good and fun team showing off) .... first glimpse of Ulis, Towns et al. What a trip.

After reading more it seems you could in theory just but $100 tickets and stay wherever you want. The packages are the "extravagant" options.

Has anyone looked into staying at cheaper hotel / resort and going to a game or two? Considering it. Price is crazy., but not even sure that’s realistic.

Am I correct in that the last time UK went they paid for the opposing team’s stays?

That's a laugher. And it's August in the Bahamas. Hottest, most humid time of year to go down there. And then there's that thing called hurricane season.

They will be very lucky to have anyone show up at those prices.

This isn't entirely accurate. Here is the full info: https://bahamar.com/travel-with-confidence/

Free lodging is provided if you test positive once in the country or a charter flight back to the US is provided.

Holy **** with the product Cal has been producing how do they expect some of us to spend that kind of $$$$?
Aside from yet another attempt to jab Cal in a thread completely unrelated to bashing Cal, if he had the 2012 team going, I highly doubt many people would still pony up that much for a trip to the Bahamas in August.

This alone (mask requirements) will keep 80% of UK fans from going, even if suddenly the trip was only $1500.

Makes sense for them though. If they do have a Covid outbreak and stuff shuts down. The island is toast. I mean. Tourism IS their economy. So, if their tourism gets shut down. Bye bye Bahamas.
