I went to the hotel directly and the room is $399/night for two people. That's $1400 each. Four tix is 4 x $100 = $400. Airfare is under $350. That's under $2200 per person. What am I missing?

Just read on the Baja Mar Hyatt Covid protocol that if you test positive when departing for home, you have to stay 10-14 days or until you test negative. The Baja Mar will give $150 worth of food a day for free but you have to pay for the room which is $350-$500/day. That scares the CRAP out of me!!!!

I have been on this trip the last 2 times UK went when it was at the Atlantis and had a great time. it wasn't this expensive. But the little gym they played in last time was the size of a elementary gym. You could walk on the floor underneath the baskets while they warmed up and everyone was cool.

However, with the high price and the fear I have of testing positive and having to stay longer making the cost more than $15 Grand, I'll sit this one out.
Won't cost 15K. Can get a room anywhere you like, don't have to buy the VIP package. Also the Bahamas Travel Visa insurance would cover your room costs in case you test positive. Just FYI. I would think this trip could be done more economically than when the trip was at Atlantis because fans can stay anywhere of their choosing. Could get a cheaper hotel option or an Airbnb and just purchase tickets.

That's pretty darn cool of you Ron. I know it's still a tough financial deal for folks. But as downthehatch & Jfranklin513 pointed out above, there are ways to make it more doable and your offer would certainly help that even more.

And all the humble brags in this thread of oh I stayed here I stayed there. I’m sure you did and you planned it not around 4 exhibition college basketball games not even in arena. Planning a vacay with an SO v droppin 15k off rip for a basketball tourney is just different. And I’ve been on 3 vacations in the last year (Miami, Vegas, LA, and 4 if you include Nashville)

Due to the many many emails I have received I have booked 12 additional tickets. All free of charge to make sure we share our love of BB together! Email or PM me to get your tickets free of charge! GBB!

In all seriousness, would be a good trip for me and you to do...like not this year but another. Girls don't want to watch those games...take them with and ditch them until after games, lol.

Just like games at Rupp, too much money to pay, no name teams, plus its hot as hell walking to the gym. I'll just stay at the house and watch on my 60 inch Plasma HDTV and keep saying "we" and "us" when referring to the beloved "Cats."

Which gym?
The gym in the Bahamas all these trips are played in. College teams all play at the same arena and stay at the same resort on these trips. The court gets wet and stays wet during the games. And the refs allow way too much rough play. I spend the whole time worrying players are gonna get hurt. I wrote the UNC AD a while back asking him to stop the Bahamas trips entirely. There are better places to take these trips.

They dont though. In 2014 Kentucky played at Kendall Isaacs Gymnasium, in 2018 they played in a ballroom at the Atlantis where the Battle for Atlantis is held, and this summer they're playing in a ballroom at Baha Mar where Baha Mar Hoops is held.

I believe China owns this resort. It was financed by China as part of its efforts to buy influence in the Caribbean. China also gifted a $35 Million dollar stadium to the Bahamas to secure economic inroads and political support. A bowl game is played every year at the stadium, and it’s located close to this resort where UKAA has decided to play.

Right, a
Holy **** with the product Cal has been producing how do they expect some of us to spend that kind of $$$$?
2 seed with many projecting a FF and even title run. Won 26 games. National POY. Who would want to watch that kind of team and "product"?

Well, me for one!! I'll be there in the Bahamas. Trying to work the London game in too. I guess you can sit here and whine about it though? Each gotta do what we gotta do.
