Quick story since I'm doing nothing but watching boring golf at the moment, in 2017 my wife and I needed to change directions in one part of our financial planning. Even though she is married to a very knowledgeable person in this area and I have made her rich with not one financial regret in 25 years of marriage, she wouldn't listen to me. So I made an appointment with someone I also have a high level of trust. She did all the talking about the issue and he gave the exact same advice I was giving. The day after the meeting, we made the change. I still chuckle over it.
Point is, good advice and consultation on any topic is invaluable. But it is sometimes hard to apply the advice.
