He changes a lot for our team. I think Cal sees it now
DA still got lost a few times and didn’t recover quick enough on some shooters. But offensively he draws defenders and opens the floor.
I'm a huge Allen supporter but I thought he gave up quite a few 3s. Could have been me focusing on him though.
And even though Cal said he doesn’t run plays for shooters, that’s not true. He was running Allen off several screens to try to get open.
He struggles at times on defense no question however iMO no more than most the other guys.
Whar he brings offensively more than makes up for it and his rebounding has been a nice surprise last couple games had 5 I think in both

He is slow to close out on 3-pointers, but so are others. He is a solid contributor.

I don’t think Allen got beat any worse than anyone else
He has been better than Boston two games in a row now. He deserves to start period.
I don’t mind him coming off the bench as long as the starters play with energy and execute. I think it takes just a bit of pressure off DA. He got plenty of minutes.
I don’t think it was his fault. We let pippen get into the lane and he kicked out for open shooters.
I think this was a more than decent performance to follow up a heroic performance.

All Vandy’s open threes made were not just on Allen. Cal’s teams have always had trouble guarding the three when the guards can’t contain their man. Vandy played the way I wish we could play: Pippin broke down his man, got in the lane and kicked it out to an open wing shooter who knocked it down.
That big stocky Vandy kid was abusing Boston.
Already tired of hearing about his defense. He’s on par with just about all the other guys on the roster in that area.
What do you mean he gave up 11 points? He fought through screens and at least had a hand in the shooter’s face. But, yes, our whole team could do better guarding the three.
Anyway, we’re a much better team with Allen in there. And Sarr and Askew and sometimes Mintz. The rest of the guys struggle to make shots.
Askew missed several kick outs on drives where Allen was wide open.
My next question is when Clarke is healthy and playing again how much time is Allen going to actually see? He will have to showcase his 2- 5 star NBA guys in Boston and Clarke!
They need to set more screens for Allen to get the ball. Best shooter on this team. Good game for him tonight.
Anyone notice Boston did not play much in that 2nd half ?
We ran a lot of down screens for him and a lot of stuff on the baseline. We have to keep doing that. It opens up everything. It’s no mistake Sarr has played so well the past two games with Dontaie on the floor
As for Boston, you can’t play him in close games. He gives you nothing offensively and is the worst defensive player on the team. Reserve minutes might help him refocus

Meh. He played 32 minutes tonight. Boston played 27. Who is in the game at the beginning really isn’t as important as how much they’re playing.
He was late on a couple close outs and didn't play perfect but his positives outweighs the negatives. Plus, he's only going to get better as he gets more comfortable on the court and at game speed. This was only his 2nd game with any real run vs. D1 competition.
Exactly. It's not like the guys he's competing with for PT are Dennis Rodman on defense. And at least he can shoot.
I mean he played 32 minutes which was the second mot on the team behind Mintz. I can't see Clarke coming back taking that much from him. Maybe he drops to 24 mins or so where most guys are playing right now, but if he's on he probably still gets a lot because we need the scoring.

Boston is a worse defender than Allen and doesn’t give you anything close to same pop offensively. Allen is a scorer and opens up the floor. It’s a no brainer
Should've seen it game 1. Absurd we had this kind of player riding the bench so Boston and Clarke could get theirs.
Screw Cal. I don’t see him criticizing Boston for a damn thing he does or doesn’t do. It just burns his *** that he was wrong and the fans were right on Allen.
