Pretty sure Virginia just brougjt up a law that goes against that. I dont have a problem passing laws that clarify laws already in place. Especially when it involves giving the most vulnerable of us a better chance.
We already have good healthcare for all. Nobody really wants to make it affordable outside of lip service

I’m glad you are covered and have had no problems with medical bills. I’ve known people financially devastated by medical bills. Lower middle class people that deserved better.
This is a nation of laws not a religious state. Repubs want the benefits of gov't but they don't want to pay for it.

I am not advocating people not pay their debts. You were the one who brought up people being financially devastated by medical bills.
When you need medicine to live, you pay for it. When you need procedures to live, you pay for it. Do you think hospitals do procedures without securing funding?

You can negotiate with hospitals too. People should be educated on their options. That is something the govt could do.

Your initial post said nothing about filing bankruptcy. To follow that moronic idea...a person would have to pay legal and filing fees to eliminate the debt (if they even qualify), nonqualifying assets get liquidated AND get your credit ruined for 10 years. That makes everything you borrow for the next DECADE, extremely costly. Makes any insurance you have, for the next DECADE, extremely costly. That sounds like"nothing" to you? Holy ****. We need to teach people financial literacy in this country.

Hard to believe a liberal would complain about the astronomical costs of healthcare because your lord and saviour barrack obama saved healthcare via the AFFORDABLE health care bill. I mean if you liked your doctor you got to keep them and as so many of your lib brethern have pointed out your insurance has not gone up at all.
Some of us are intelligent enough to hold several different thoughts in our head and examine them for consistency and possible hypocrisy and relate them back to many other subjects that may arise during any given discussion.
