Anybody who watched that offensive performance yesterday and isn't very concerned about our offense is delusional. That said, I'm HOPING that South Alabama is a much better team this year than projected. It IS the 2nd year under a new coaching staff and it appears that they have some pretty good talent so I'm expecting them to perform much better than last year. That said, it appeared to me that AM struggled tremendously in his reads yesterday and our receivers failed to find windows in the zone to get open. It was obvious that our O line struggled to open holes in the run game. I hate to say it, BUT having a sphomore walk on starting at guard concerned me as did having a freshman at center. They need to grow up in a hurry. Frost's offense has to be able to pose a threat in the run game to be successful.
This. Good to see some rational posts. GBR.

So that’s the best you got then huh? Man I’m concerned that we are Letting you fight the war on the main board... the reputation of husker nation is a serious thing, I mean like super serious... we need warriors on the front lines of the rivals national chat forum... we can’t afford any off days in there.

Oh, so very true. It sure looks like we've got a long, long ways to go.

seems to me if he isn't hurt, that extra weight might have slowed him down, doesnt look the same.

I’m going to ignore and avoid all the stupid talk about Adrian Martinez over this week. This is my one post/rant. He’s not overrated, he’s not a bad QB or any of that. He had ONE OFF GAME, PERIOD. Even the top NFL QBs have off games, even QBs on Bama, Clemson or OU have off games. Martinez didn’t have one great game and then **** the bed equaling overrated. He had a great freshman year and then had ONE off game to start the season this year....an off game during week 1. Like Scott Frost said during an interview after the game “Im not worried one bit about Martinez. I know what type of player Martinez is and how good of a QB he is. He had an off game and he will be fine.”

The offense made some mistakes and they WILL get it fix it. The offense having a off game is fine...that’s one area we don’t have to worry about much. Frost has always been an offensive ACE. But seeing that defense play like it did. Now that’s something we all want to see. The offense will have its ship correct by the time we play Colorado. I just hope the defense keeps it up.

Yes, I was shocked to see our defense win the game for us. I could hardly believe it!

Was fun watching them offer all the excitement though. Sacks, fumbles, pick six, tackles for loss... We havent seen a ton of that here recently..

He was locking on to guys and missed open guys who were open down the read tree. Just a really bad day for AM. I hate to say it, but it looked like he's regressed from last year but then a walk on soph and freshman O line starters could make a QB uncomfortable and rushed in his decision making. As I stated in defense of Tanner Lee, when a QB gets hit a bunch it really messes with their decision making and AM was under pressure quite a bit yesterday. IF he had all day to pass and guys running open like OSU's QB does, he would have looked great. Our young starters need to grow up in a hurry. They concern me greatly.
In the very first series NU scored on I noticed right away he looked different. He looked very tight, very serious, didn't seem to have the swagger and having fun like last year. Maybe, just maybe Frost and Verduzco putting so much emphasis on him making it "his team", and being a leader and allowing him to be voted captain is making him a nervous wreck.

Or, someone said this was the first game his whole family attended, maybe he tried too hard not to make mistakes. Or maybe he wasn't feeling well. Or maybe he is having girl problems (we all know that kills concentration). So hopefully he hasn't regressed, maybe something was just working on him yesterday and it is in the rear view mirror now.

The only girl problem the starting QB for the Huskers ever has is trying to decide which one gets to go out with him..... I've seen how they hang on a back up offensive lineman. Yikes. We should have all had such problems.

Or it could be that he's a really good player who just had a crappy game. I love what Martinez brings to the table, but he's hardly an established star. I don't want to see him play poorly, but I don't find it all that shocking. If it becomes a pattern - which I don't think will happen - that's a different story.

He's had a HUGE amount of expectation heaped on him by his coaches, the media, fans and now even to some degree TO. Tremendous pressure. Likewise Jurgens was compared to Rimmington by Frost......I about fell over when I heard that one. They might be trying to build confidence but man. Might be time to step back in time and let the media have "he's moving around well"..Laughing

There is something wrong with you.
I think it's the other way around. Just like the majority of the fan base on this board claiming Mike Riley was the second coming.. or that NO WAY is Eichorst running the program, or claiming Adrian is Heisman material. I think you're all stupid and can't think for yourselves. There isn't anything wrong with me at all. It's all of you. You're the bell curve of dumb dumbs who can't see what is actually going on much less connect a couple of dots together.

Nikkidix is as much of an idiot this year as he was last year. Once a dumbass always a dumbass.

hilarious he used 'bell curve' incorrectly after he's very plainly shown he doesn't understand even basic statistics when discussing recruits decommitting

the basic premise is still correct.. OT or not doesn't matter.
Well the last two times Nebraska had the ball in that game, they drove 98 yards for a TD and then drove 80 yards for a TD and a 2-point conversion. If the discussion is about QB play, seems like whether or not the loss was in OT matters quite a bit.

The majority of this board thinks Martinez is Heisman material? When did you take that straw poll?

Just because I disagree with some obnoxious gasbag who thinks Martinez will never be a good player, it doesn't mean I think he's going to win a Heisman.

Well I think he stunk it up pretty badly Saturday and I still think in Frost's offense he has Heisman potential...just not this year probably.
He doesn't have to worry about the heisman hype anymore. He can relax and play QB now
truth.

The guy was a true freshman last year and had a historic true freshman year. So... what is your point again?
