That's a very fair take.
They also beat Rutgers worse than they beat Montana State- same score differential, but Rutgers gave up 750 yards of offense and put up 10 points. Montana State gave up 506 yards and put up 13 points. Montana State is in the Big Sky conference. And the RU game was away for Oregon.
While yesterday‘s game was a complete embarrassment, I will say that Montana State and Northwestern did not have to play Oregon after their loss to Indiana. This was an angry team that was going to absolutely pound someone yesterday.

You all know I try not to overreact- but yesterday was worse than the score.

Greg folded up the playbook before the end of the half. His only goal was to keep his defense off the field.
And that was the most embarrassing thing. He just stopped coaching and shut down all will to fight.
Find me any other team who is down by 30+ at the half and just never throws the ball again.
I lost all respect for coach on this one. I would rather lose 80-3 and be throwing the ball 50+ times to at least try than what he did yesterday.
It was so bad that Oregon knew he gave up and called a TO with 12 seconds in the half to try to run through us again. BTW- very ****** move by them.
If you are going to complain about Oregon calling the timeout in the first half, you should be grateful that they called the dogs off in the 3rd quarter. They could have easily hung 80+ points and 1000+ yards if they wanted to.

I’ve offered plenty of solutions. Young up and comer offensive mind who knows the modern college game.

you just don’t agree. All good
Offensive mind, would love a coach that could recruit a true dual threat QB, under 50 years of age, at least 5 year HC experience. Come on KZ make it happen

Is this correct?
Yes ! Here’s some sickening facts from this “run”

last Rutgers win vs ranked team was number 23 USF in Nov 2009

so it’s been 15! Years

Average margin of defeat is 30!

Out of the 40 game losing streak only 3! Times did Rutgers even finish it as a one score game !

absolutely mind boggling . Enough excuses . Get somebody else with a pulse

Is a career record of 29-31 considered successful? Plus i don't think he's ever coached at the college level so no one knows if he can recruit or not.
I see where you're going with this but I'd pass

pass on McDaniel? Me too! I was just replying to someone else who suggested it

With 12 seconds to go and a punt coming up???
They took it plenty easy on us in the second half, they didn’t even try to score again when they got their second TD early in the 3rd. They finished the game on our 10 yard line with 2 mins to go and go have easily run the ball in and instead just went into the victory formation.

Given the schedule and pandemic, what % of those were Flood/Ash/interims? Going to guess a large one.

People here are building statues and declaring state holidays for a coach who’s 97-104 and is considered the only coach in the country who can allegedly recruit Jersey kids to stay home.

Not with 12 seconds to go and you're up 40.
Stop it’s not bush league. Greg’s team can’t stop anyone.

How about when Greg has a defense line dive at the legs of the offense line when they are in victory formation at the end of games?

He’s going to get someone hurt . That’s bush league and very dangerous. One of the many reasons his Tampa Bay players quit on him.

Greg is a bush league bully but he’s too busy getting his *** kicked every week to play his bush league tactics .

So the answer to the problem is to hire another .500 career coach?

Who did you saw me say to hire again?
***EDIT: HELLO NO!!!! McDANIELS WOULDVE LAST A YEAR IN NJ.***

That ship has sailed for me. The one coach who I kept saying that Rutgers should’ve hired in 2000, 2012, 2020 is not available. But of course KC Keeler is a bum to most here and Schiano’s consistency is a hell of a lot better than Keeler’s 4 trips to D3 finals or winning the FCS championship twice.

Another coach I thought would’ve turned Rutgers around in 2012 and 2020 is Mike Leach but he’s too gimmicky and his offense wouldn’t survive in the Northeast… even if it did survive the snowstorms in Eastern Washington.

In regard to his defense trying to jump a kneel down- if a game is within 1 score, the other team really should expect the other team to try to get the ball. A lot of OL I know are surprised it isn't done more often.

As for why the move at 12 seconds is bush league - you are up 42-3 going into half- your defense just stopped the other team. Unless there was previous bad blood, 99% of coaches just let it run out and take the team to the locker room. Calling a TO for a less than 10% chance to block it or return it for a TD or a lessor chance to run a single play that goes 70 yds for a TD just isn't something coaches do.

It would not be bush league if they had the ball with 12 seconds in the half and went for a TD but their move was a purposeful slap in the face. Yeah- our team sort of deserved it but it should be sitting hard on all of them.

He thinks a no name coach will win here. Just wants to hate with no solutions like his media pals.
Well in coaching you are either making a name for yourself or destroying your name and legacy. I will take a no name coach that ilia making a name rather then one who is destroying their legacy
