The numbers you cite for Bourque and Mencl are way off. Mencl got a 2 year $3m deal. Reportedly Bourque got the same. The amount you cite for Mencl is likely what we gave Wood. I would not trust those on3 values.

The premise is the same. psu is in trouble if they can't pay what other schools are paying for premium talent....at QB or any other position.

The BOT sealed Penn State's future with NIL way back in 2011. They were naive to believe their negligent actions would not impact the future of the football program.

There were times that Franklin said in press conferences he wanted Cliff to be more aggressive in the run game. I think Cliff was more natural in the pass game with the ability to stretch plays. He is an underrated PSU qb by our fanbase, who could not wait for Allar to start.

I agree that Clifford was probably a better QB than a lot of PSU fans give him credit for.

But the issue was that HCJF forced him to be a "run first" guy - which he definitely did not.

I agree with that to an extent, but the fanbase did not appreciate Cliff during his tenure. It was only after the debacle of Allar did we appreciate Cliff for what he was. Where Franklin did Cliff wrong was forcing him to run. He was more of a pocket passer that could run if needed, not a run first type qb that Franklin himself stated publicly he wanted Cliff to be.

We disagree on Franklin asking him to be aggressive in the run game, but we likely agree on the most important aspect of Cliff - he was a darn good qb. My personal opinion is that Cliff gets the 2024 team to the natty beating ND and quite possibly OSU in the regular season.
