This class, FWIW, is tracking to be lower part of the top 25 (current rankings reflect "volume", with PSU having significantly more of their class already "committed")
CJF's recruiting was the same way - a large portion of it committing early, and was usually and often "top 5", until the rest of the programs started to fill out their classes. Everyone ends up with +/- 25 kids - so what matters is the average per kid. CJF would usually have average quality in the 12-18 range, but top 5 early on before things filled out nationwide. Current class is in 25-30 ish range on average quality, but top 15 due to more early commits - it will matriculate down as others fill out their classes.
That all said, high school recruiting is much much less important than it used to be.
