Moos is just covering his own ***. In modern college athletics an AD is going to succeed or fail, (and get fired) based on how well the football coach he hired does. And so far Frost hasn’t delivered. So Moos has to deflate expectations.
Which sucks for the Moos. he was bought for the sole purpose to hire Frost. The Hoiberg hire should have just been the icing on the cake. If Moos wants to hang around and not retire (I'd be shocked if he doesn't in the next year or 2) I think he'll get away with hiring another coach if he chooses to. Having said that we've got Frost on contract for 7 more years so the only way the AD can get a new football coach is if Frost decides to quit, which knowing how prideful and arrogant he can be I highly doubt he will ever do. My guess is Moos will quietly exit before the football season in 2021.Which sucks for the Moos. he was bought for the sole purpose to hire Frost. My guess is you don’t know what you are talking about. If Moos wants to hang around and not retire (I'd be shocked if he doesn't in the next year or 2) I think he'll get away with hiring another coach if he chooses to. Because they believed youwhy does this have to be the case?
Frank Solich was under contract and didn't quit
Bill Callahan was under contract and didn't quit
Bo Pelini was under contract and didn't quit
Mike Riley was under contract and didn't quit
all had significantly higher winning percentages during their NU tenure when compared to 2018-2019
You're kidding, right? Every coach who gets fired has time left on his contract and every coach who leaves for a better job has time left on his contract.we've got Frost on contract for 7 more years so the only way the AD can get a new football coach is if Frost decides to quit.
It is what it is at this point and right now it’s about taking baby steps. So making a bowl game for the first time in 3 years with the brutal schedule we have, is a indeed a monumental success.Wow. Not even Iowa fans would consider 6 wins a success regardless of circumstances. These views along with the 2 more years talk are another step at setting the bar at Iowa.

Football just takes longer since there are so many more kids to deal with. We were a dumpster when he took over.
Thats already taken, to fill teams empty trophy cases, please, go back to your team, this is boringdo you think the university will mint 6 win commemorative coins so we can all relive this monumental success for generations to come?
maybe the bookstore will print shirts:

Love this logic, that coach retires within three years, yet getting an ncaa record setting homer national champion coach, one that likely stays til his retirement, we shoulda passed.Love this logic.
Lets invert your comments and see want sentence it makes..."We were a dumpster when he took over because football just takes longer since there are so many more kids to deal with"
So Frost gets time because "Football just takes longer since there are so many more kids to deal with"...but the previous guy, who had a better record, is to blame and get fired after 3 years...

On what planet is Scott Frost a national champion coach?Love this logic, that coach retires within three years, yet getting an ncaa record setting homer national champion coach, one that likely stays til his retirement, we shoulda passed.
Earth. 5th down ain't real RalphieOn what planet is Scott Frost a national champion coach?
Is reading hard for you? Imagine if someone just said it?On what planet is Scott Frost a national champion coach?
The lengths people will go to make excuses for this program are amazing.Love this logic.
Lets invert your comments and see what sentence it makes..."We were a dumpster when he took over because football just takes longer since there are so many more kids to deal with"
So Frost gets time because "Football just takes longer since there are so many more kids to deal with"...but the previous guy, who had a better record, is to blame and gets fired after 3 years...
So if it was a dumpster when he took over, is it a full blown dumpster fire now?
Same planet you're a Nebraska fan.On what planet is Scott Frost a national champion coach?
Or maybe re-read your post, and tell us if you really believe what you typed is discernible English.....Is reading hard for you? Imagine if someone just said it?
Now, if I'd said national championship coach, the onus changes, but hey, no ones stopping you from assuming things not said not meant, especially such a basic thing.
Shouldn't someone win a national championship as a coach before they get labeled a "national championship coach"?Same planet you're a Nebraska fan.
Coming from you, just asking a non insulting husker question, though it is to me,about me, there may be hope for you yet.Or maybe re-read your post, and tell us if you really believe what you typed is discernible English.....
I said he was a home bred national champion coach.Shouldn't someone win a national championship as a coach before they get labeled a "national championship coach"?
Hey, no worries, they got danny langford. Too bad he doesnt have Luke to coachThe abhorrence from the cu fan who hates Frost is strong.
I like basketballs chances better than football. Look at the 2016, 2017, and 2018 recruiting classes. Very few hits or even players on roster. Those classes should be our upper classmen and they are a messWith every passing admin and coaching staff I become less invested and more apathetic in the fact we arent a blip on the radar in the college football world. Basketball I can understand him saying Fred needs another year or 2. But football? C'mon man
Hence, you're also not a Nebraska fan like you claim, bonehead. Sal is dead, go big red.Shouldn't someone win a national championship as a coach before they get labeled a "national championship coach"?
I like Fred, I think he will get it done here. People need to give him more than a month to put a team togetherI like basketballs chances better than football. So, you're a sunshine pumper that can't answer the question.Hence, you're also not a Nebraska fan like you claim, bonehead. Sal is dead, go big red.
"Love this logic, that coach retires within three years, yet getting an ncaa record setting homer national champion coach, one that likely stays til his retirement, we shoulda passed."I said he was a home bred national champion coach.
I think you're trying too hard to be a word nazi here.
Onus on champion, not coach. Don't they teach you such subtleties where you're from?
6 of our 22 projected starters are from the 2018 class.I like basketballs chances better than football. Look at the 2016, 2017, and 2018 recruiting classes. Very few hits or even players on roster. Those classes should be our upper classmen and they are a mess
Martinez, Honas, Williams, Taylor-Britt, Clark, and tanner? But look at the attrition no wr, no rb, lost a couple safeties. Still not a full class. U can’t argue especially the 2017 class was empty. Coaches are definitely under some pressure to develop underclassmen.6 of our 22 projected starters are from the 2018 class.
How many starters does the average class produce? 6 seems about right, if not a little high.Martinez, Honas, Williams, Taylor-Britt, Clark, and tanner? But look at the attrition no wr, no rb, lost a couple safeties. Still not a full class. U can’t argue especially the 2017 class was empty. Agree. Fred has been successful at this level. Scott, not so much...I like Fred, I think he will get it done here. People need to give him more than a month to put a team together
So, if you cant figure it out, I suggest you take you poor intentions elsewheres. Troll is troll."Love this logic, that coach retires within three years, yet getting an ncaa record setting homer national champion coach, one that likely stays til his retirement, we shoulda passed."
This is your post in question. I italicized the phrase we are discussing..
Didn't realize there was a difference between a "national champion coach" and a "national championship coach".
I'd refer to him as a "national champion player", since, you know, that's what he was when he won one.
No word Nazism involved here. Not sure you need to act like an arrogant *** when you're not speaking (metaphorically) very clear. You'll notice that the folks attacking me aren't even disputing my argument. That should be a clue.
English is English. So, if you cant figure it out, I suggest you take you poor intentions elsewheres. Troll is troll.
Aspirations of playing for nattys is all it is, aspirations. tOSU out recruits us by a large margin and they are who we need to get through once we prove we can win the west. Wisconsin is not going to hand the rest to us. MN, Iowa and Purdue will continue to be formidable. Let's be realistic and have a goal of beating Wisconsin and Iowa first and getting to Indy before having pipe dreams of being in a national title game. Can we get a ruling if by 2 years he really means 2 years
don’t want to get caught out again thinking that when Frost said we would compete for the divisional title in year 2 and then watch out in year 3 this is what he actually meant when it now is clear to all that what he really meant was anything but we will compete for the divisional title in year 2 and watch out for year 3
are we talking human years here or will it turn out that Moos was really talking dog years and in reality it will be good decade plus.
