With every passing admin and coaching staff I become less invested and more apathetic in the fact we arent a blip on the radar in the college football world. Basketball I can understand him saying Fred needs another year or 2. But football? C'mon manI am so sick of this hype machine in Lincoln. They keep building up our hopes only to let us down.
What should he have done differently in his tenure thus far?Bill Moos is becoming the PT Barnum of ADs
Nebraska has really had it bad since about 2013. Just got worse as it went along. Restoring the roster to a quality roster is a feat.So Nebraska BB has never done anything ever - 2 more years needed. Nebraska football had a 3 year terrible stint prior to Frost coming - 4 years needed. Makes perfect sense.

If we win 6 this year and 7 next is that ‘turned around’? Would you fire him?I’m ok with Moos’ candor. Not sure what else he’s supposed to say. Regardless of what we all think, his job would likely require him to fire Frost if he can’t turn things around in 4 years”.
.
There it is. Took a little longer than usual, but I knew you’d come through. Can we get a ruling if by 2 years he really means 2 years

If you think this is “hype”. I’m not sure you know what that word means.
Stop paying attention to it. It’s like the elementary school election for president when a candidate promises Pepsi in all drinking fountains if elected.
My personal read is Moos is being honest with the basketball program and is being ultra conservative with the football team.If we win 6 this year and 7 next is that ‘turned around’? Would you fire him?

Let’s start with the offense
show me another team in the nation with (at least) 9 returning starters on offense (which includes a 3 year starter @ QB, the complete starting o-line back, and their starting running back all back and tell me they shouldn’t be better. If depth is an issue on offense your telling me no one since last year has developed enough to contribute. Then that would truly be on coaching.
defense - 6 starters back. Completely new D line but our 2nd string is completely back and we have talented guys like Green, Rodgers, and Robinson who all should be ready to step up. Again, if not, that’s on development and that’s on coaching. LBs should improve with Jucos and the freshman class of last year and this year. If not, coaching. Britt and
Williams maybe two of the best Safety duos in the B1G if not the nation. Dismuke is also back and was a starter last year. And guys like farmer and Gates should make depth a non-issue. Corner is a little concerning but if Bootle slides back in, Newsome & Clark have good upside. There is enough talent @ CB to do well. Felt like I’m alone here but I though Chin really improved last year at the end. I’m not worried about the defense. It will be better
schedule
We will be the favorites in our first 7. All Non-conf games at home. If we go 7-0 & went 1-4 in our last 5, I’d be happy with 8-4 going to a bowl. I honestly think 9-3 is where we should be though. I think 6 or 7 wins would mean we lost to a team or two we should have beaten and that’s not a sign of things going into the right direction
Yep. I’ll keep supporting but I will believe it when I see it. Saw a lot of coaching ... ummm...game management type of concerns these past couple of years. Cuba Gooding Junior...”Show me the money!!!!”I am so sick of this hype machine in Lincoln. They keep building up our hopes only to let us down.
My thinking is similar to Minnesota this past season... if we can win some early on, build some momentum, start believing in ourselves, we might win a few of those tough ones at the back half of the season. If we do that, I agree we can get to 9 wins... That’s what I would like to see. This comment is Moos covering his own ***. He

Spot on the biggest thing with the players is they need to have early success, eventually the law of average will even out and we’ll start winning those close gamesMy thinking is similar to Minnesota this past season... if we can win some early on, build some momentum, start believing in ourselves, we might win a few of those tough ones at the back half of the season. I'd vote for them if they could make it mountain dewStop paying attention to it. It’s like the elementary school election for president when a candidate promises Pepsi in all drinking fountains if elected.
Im sorry I just dont see us beating all 4 of Purdue Illinois SDSU and Cincy. I'd be thrilled if we go 2-2 in that stretch. SDSU took Minnesota to the wire and Fickell is a great coach who has that program humming. Ive been saying 4 to 6 wins next year given our obvious liabilities at head coach and qb. I sure as heck hope we go 9-3 and will gladly eat crow but I just dont see it.This comment is Moos covering his own ***. He

Let’s face it, with the current state of our program, every year’s schedule is stupidly difficult.and a stupidly difficult schedule
It’ll be a monumental success if Nebraska wins 6
You should know, you're always dogging our teamCan we get a ruling if by 2 years he really means 2 years
don’t want to get caught out again thinking that when Frost said we would compete for the divisional title in year 2 and then watch out in year 3 this is what he actually meant when it now is clear to all that what he really meant was anything but we will compete for the divisional title in year 2 and watch out for year 3

Division title or the season is a failure, just like every season imo.Wow. Not even Iowa fans would consider 6 wins a success regardless of circumstances. These views along with the 2 more years talk are another step at setting the bar at Iowa.

Agree, people tend to underestimate how important confidence and momentum are in sports. MN was a team last year that I think could have just as easily been a 7 win team. They were able to squeak out some of the close games at the beginning and used that momentum and confidence to go on a roll and have a good year. If Nebraska can get 6 or 7 wins those first 7 games, build some confidence I think we could win 3 of those last 5 and get to 9 or 10 wins this year. Iowa and MN I think both takes steps back this year. They both are very very winnable games, although some seem to treat them as if these are Ohio St level teams. Ohio St is the ONLY team I think we have no chance to beat this year.My thinking is similar to Minnesota this past season... if we can win some early on, build some momentum, start believing in ourselves, we might win a few of those tough ones at the back half of the season.
