PJ is auditioning for a job as are the rest of the 1-n-d prospects. There is no way PJ passes on this, the showcase for him to make money at the next level. I fully expect all of our guys to take it up a notch and no little nagging injury will stop that.

Good point. This isn't like years when we had Wall or Kat, where guys could get drafted in the lottery whether they played in the tournament or not.

This entire team needs to play, and play well, to get drafted as high as possible. If Hagans wants to not only go to the NBA, but stay there and make some money, he needs to step it up, and the same can pretty much be said for everyone else. There is still work left to do for all these guys, they aren't Cousins or Fox.

The 15th pick is guaranteed 4.3 million
The 30th pick is guaranteed 2.5 million
But in the 2nd round, nothing is guaranteed, even if it's very likely to score a contract. Players still need to play well, or it could be league minimum of $800k and not much of a career

Well we sure as hell have a better shot with him playing than not. Look i get it , you do not believe in this UK team and feel that with or without PJ we are not winning it all. But to say if we are relying on him to get there is just dumb. He is our best player, so any fool with a brain would know our chances go down greatly if he is out. We can get by AC and maybe our second round game, but after that, no PJ and the Cats are done. Same thing with pretty much any team. Take the heart and soul away from it, they are not winning.

Does anyone know what time the media conference is today? I’m tired of the speculation. I want something clear cut even though Cal will say something along the lines of “I don’t talk to the doctors. He has a boot on for precautionary reasons and he isn’t on the lineup chart. We’ll have to take it day to day and see how he feels. I won’t rush any of my players to play if they’re not comfortable”

Hopefully we can and should beat Abilene Christian without him. They have a seven footer who averages 4.3 minutes per game and then after that they have no one over 6 foot 8.
Matchups make basketball games. Cal was interviewed this week on the SEC Channel by Andy Kennedy and Antoine Walker. I imagine a lot of posters saw it on TV. Cal’s concern is that Abilene shoots 25 three-point shots a game and hits 40% of them. You can fall behind a team like this if you don’t defend well and give them good looks. Cal said perimeter defense and getting to long rebounds after the missed three-point shots will be keys to this game for us. He sounded like he was not pleased with our perimeter defense against UT, and that isn’t surprising. Cal also complained that Washington has sat a lot of minutes with foul trouble recently.

Washington may be our best player, but we could beat Abilene without PJ if the lineup change improves our perimeter defense. Maybe Hagans, Quickley, Herro, Keldon, Travis. Would rather have PJ in there, but this might be the time to give him extra rest if he isn’t 100% physically.

Well we practice in hour in Jacksonville in front of the public and media....we will see aoon enough.

I think he has a minor injury and they are being cautious to make sure he can play from the 2nd game on...Im honestly not too worried

Come out with it

It’s a tendon. Not a break. Hurt on the last second tip-in attempt vs. UT. Most likely out next two games. Possibly longer.

Please do not crucify me if this turns out to be untrue. I am simply passing along a text I got from someone who knows a team manager. I am praying that it’s untrue.

Weird considering the rumors to this point were he tweaked it during the Alabama game. So at least one person (likely multiple) are FOS.

We will know if a few minutes once practice gets going.... I feel like it's always something the past 8 years in regards to injuries at the WRONG TIME!

You do know PJ is the highest percentage three point shooter on this team correct? He would’ve nailed the three point shot that would’ve won the game against Tennessee if not for that bogus charge call on Johnson. You must not watch the Cats too often. The only team that stands a realistic shot of knocking us out before the Final Four (assuming Washington plays) is UNC. After that, it’s basically a coin flip.
Guess you forget Seton Hall already beat us.

Uk’s IG page put up a quick practice clip but it’s so blurry you can’t make out the players.

Someone on the other thread mentioned something about a tendon injury in his toe (tear?), and that's been floating around on Twitter too.

Not gonna crucify you man. I appreciate you passing along info. Everybody has an inside scoop here and there. Hell, I knew Alex Poythress was coming back for his Sophomore year before his Freshman year was even over. Somehow, someway, I met one of Alex’s best friends from high school while I was in Panama City on Spring Break. He told me that Alex valued education more than basketball and that he would surely return to school. Of course, I took that guys word with a grain of salt but low and behold, it turned out to be true. One of my friends from high school started out as the team manager for the football team and worked his way to the basketball team. He ended up being one of the managers for the 2014-15 team. I had some inside scoops on that team as well. I feel like we can survive the first two rounds without him. After that, I’m not sure. I hope you and your source is wrong as well.

I just saw one person on Twitter mention something along these lines this morning that TJ may have said he got a text that passed along this type of info. Not sure if it's been confirmed that TJ has updated anything today. Figured there would be a lot more mentions of this if he truly had said something along these lines today.

With Hippa laws and so forth, how is this information(and there's been 10 different stories from a stress fracture to a torn tendon) even being allowed to get out?..Just asking
