You just said our best player isn’t going to make the offense better. Seek help

Man go on with that **** somewhere, been busy, hurried, mis- worded it.. Washington is not good enough offensively to carry this team to a Final Four, i do not care if he is the best player, what his numbers is or anything like that, he is not Zion Williamson like some make him out to be.. He has to play within a team concept, like another poster said all hands on deck..

I kinda doubt he misses a tourney game BUT if he did miss the game abilene game it basically means we win by 15 instead 25. So no biggie . Seton hall or Wofford would be tough without him but I have been given no reason by rational people to think he will miss time. If and when that happens I will worry. Why worry about something that as at best is under 50% likely ( him missing more then 1 game if any) .

Are you serious ? Did you not see how Duke was without Zion ? And they have Barrett, Reddish and Jones. They still would not make it out of the Sweet 16 without Zion.

Barrett gets alot better during the post season, Kentucky does not have a player like that to fall back on if Washington goes out..

What you just wrote is also true of Randle in '14, Knight in '11, Towns in '15. Not sure what your point is. They all had to play within the concept of the team in order to advance.

That said, he is the our best player on a very good UK team, just like the other guys were. If we make the Final Four, it will be because he led us there.

Duke loses in the Sweet Sixteen or Elite Eight without Zion.

UK would lose in the 2nd round or Sweet Sixteen without PJ.

Not quite the difference you're attempting to make it out to be.

Can not trade two's with three's and expect to win, i knew that would come back and bite that team. Just like i have a feeling that inconsistency will be the end of this team, this group has not played a full 40 minute game all season.. If we run into North Carolina, better be prepared to score in the 70's to 80's to win, good offense always beAts good defense when it comes to basketball.. Just hope the team is ready is all i am saying..

We only lost that game by 7 points and that was despite the fact that we jacked up 32 three pointers. We very well could have played our game and scored in the paint instead of trying to trade three pointers with a team that was actually making them. We allowed West Virginia to play the game the way they wanted to play. That is why we lost. Yes, had we made more of those threes we would have won. Being a more complete team definitely helps, but that doesn't exclude us from being able to win. However, we very well should have won that game had we simply stuck to the darn plan that got us there to begin with, which was work the ball inside and get to the basket.

We currently average almost 80 points a game (77)… so, yes, I imagine that we might have to hit at least our average to beat North Carolina in the Elite 8.

Washington is not on the level of a Towns or Randle. They gotta play perfect team ball and Cal has to really coach in this tournament to advance, especially in the later rounds where the going gets tough and having a Towns or Randle to fall back on is a luxury.. Teams will really be keying in on Washington and Herro..

Can and should? We would beat Abilene Christian without 3 of our starters playing. That game will be over by the 10 min mark of the 1st half regardless of who plays.

Yes, hence the can and should. However, we have seen the 2 seed fall to the 15 a handful of times and just last year watched a 1 fall to a 16. So, I am not going to say it isn’t possible. It certainly is. It shouldn’t happen, but it has happened to other teams and I definitely hope we don’t get bitten by that bug. I like your confidence though.

We gotta run Wofford off the 3 line hard, if we allow them to make a couple from the start, it will be a closer game than we like. They are capable of getting hot and nailing 10 straight if a team is not careful defending them..

After 24 hours, multiple threads, and a lot of speculation it appears that no one really knows anything.

Only thing we know for sure is that some ppl are freaking the f out! Let’s not flip out til we hear the actual news butttttt I can see why folks are going nuts cuz we’ve had zero luck when it comes to injuries.

While you have said some nutty stuff in this thread I agree with this. I sorta think we end up playing Seton Hall though as they are hot as hell.

Perhaps you're looking at Towns/Randle backwards (NBA guys who are averaging 21+ppg and who led UK to the Final Four) instead of what they were going into the tournament.

On that level, PJ's impact on college ball is every bit as substantial as the ones Randle and Towns had going into their respective tournaments.

We aren't talking NBA potential here. We're talking college-level impact, and Washington's impact on this team is just as substantial as those guys were on their teams.

I don't know what happened to PJ, but we seem to have the softest players and/or the worst medical staff.

Missing Washington for any amount of time is huge and a set back. Throws everything off

I hope he produces like they did in the tournament.

Not quite the difference you're attempting to make it out to be.

Duke could easily lose in the second round without Zion. They almost lost to Wake Forest at home.

This thread is pure insanity. People trying to piece little "clues" together or research certain posters. Insanity.

What the hell are you even arguing? First you say, “If Washington is the only chance we have at a Final Four, where [sic] screwed before the tournament even begins, healthy or not..”Then you suddenly begin to argue that, “he is not gonna make the 3 point shooting and offense better…” You then immediately switch arguments to go with, “We definitely don't have a chance without Washington, Reid Travis is good and all, but him and Washington has to be on the floor together..” So which is it? Your crazy arguments make no sense and are all over the place.

The plan is to fake this, Cal wanted this to happen to get the other top teams guard down. It was planned on Christmas break, so this is Cal's plan. PJ will play but he'll act like he isn't 100% Cal will let this ride until he feels UK is in trouble.

If this works Cal becomes the greatest ever, if not he will second guess himself

That was my point. The poster said if we where depending on Washington to win a title we where in trouble. I pointed out how Duke struggled without Zion even though they still had a lot of talent without him. I was making the point that PJ has to play for UK to have any shot.

I understand it's stupid to announce but I can at least give my opinion you don't always have to look for a post to tear someone down to show how smart you are.
