This already is Cal's 2nd best team IMO

I’m still taking ‘15 and ‘12.....maybe even ‘10 but they had the glaring weakness of random ice cold nights.

But you can make the argument this is the most balanced team of the Cal era. Balance often wins in March Bc over a stretch of 6 games, you’re going to be forced to play multiple styles and at some point your go to guy will have an off night or be in foul trouble and the question becomes if you can pick the slack up somewhere else.

Better than 2015? Better guards than the Harrison twins, Booker, Ulis, and Hawkins?

I'm usually a big fan of your enthusiasm, @caneintally , but in this case...

I don't think this team is as good as 2012 or 2015, but 2010 is certainly up for debate. The 2010 team was amazing but had a major weakness in that the team lacked a really good shooter.

The only real weakness this current team has is a reliable shot blocker but EJ and NR have been stepping up more, so I don't consider it near as strong a weakness.

Need to wait until the end of the year to see how this team performs in the NCAA - no silly losses to K STATE or a UAB.

What is really starting to emerge is the defensive efficiency and the stellar rebounding. Combine that with PJ Washington going into super hero mode, this team is starting to separate itself from the pack. Love your enthusiasm, cane!

This team is better than 2015's first 5

An. Harrison < A. Hagan's
Aa. Harrison < T. Herron
T. Lyles = K. Johnson
WCS < P. J. Washington
KAT > R. Travis

2014-15 Bench:
Ulis
Booker
Hawkins
M. Lee
D. Johnson
D. Willis
A. Poythress (before injury)

2018-19 Bench:
I. Quickly
N. Richards
J. Baker
E.J. Montgomery

That 2014-15 is the most talented roster from top to bottom ever. They just hit a great offensive juggernaut, paired with awful officiating and an off night for Cal, or they would have gone undefeated.

That's Cal's best team even without a title.

I think it's firmly planted at 4th right now. Very tough to pass 2010, 2012, and 2015. I think this team would have to win out to make a case to be 3rd.

This is UKs 3rd/4th best team at best and possibly only the 5th best team.

1. 2015
2. 2012
3. 2010
4. 2017
5. 2019

IMO in order for this team to be ranked better than 5th best team they need to finish the season with 7 or less losses and a Final Four or finish the season with 6 or less losses and an Elite Eight.

Well consider the source...

That being said I do think (as of now) it is one of Cal’s best teams BUT it’s way to early
To coin them Cals second best team ever considering the 38-1 team, the John wall team (yes i know they lost in the EE) and the title team

I do like the way this team is trending toward March. One of the hottest end of season teams we have had. That could spell greatness very soon.

They were good out the gate. That team was robbed. Definite final four group.
They definitely were but they had their struggles like most teams have during the course of the season. The blowout loss to Florida comes to mind and losing to a terrible UT team but they should have cut the nets down that year. We were the best team in the country come tourney time. The roofer got us. He won’t be doing anymore of our games after that Thank God

2015, 2012, and then either this team or 2010. Lot of ball left. Remains to be seen
That is completely fair as it is debatable. But if someone says the 2010 team they are thinking about them as NBA players and not what they were in college. That team had a fatal flaw- couldn't shoot. I am alright if you want to argue this team vs 38-1 and obviously the 2012 team was the best of the last 10 years but this team is so damn good.IMO the Fox/monk team is better then the Wall team by tourney time as well.

I seen him ref the IU game the other night and was so thankful I didn't have to see his pansy *** on the sidelines during our games again.

Considering the 2012 and 2015 teams, not to mention the inaugural 2009-2010 year, this is a trash take. No offense OP.

Yeah again I am good with that thinking . I do think if we win the title then no one could debate it any more .

None taken but as you see many are in my line of thinking ( thinking this team is top 2-4 ) . As I said I can buy right now that 12 or 15 were better but the 9-10 team is thought of so highly because the NBA players they became. They played a poor schedule and did win a crap ton of games but no team with a horrible fatal flaw ( like Duke this year mind you as well) can be an ultra elite team. And I think this year's team is becoming that. We have such great balance and depth and talent. 8-9 NBA players.

Their ceiling is 3rd best and that's not a slight in the least. The 2012 and 2015 teams were just outstanding.

Possibly 3rd best right now (maybe) but if they win the title they move to at least 2nd best for me. Titles mean the most and a title makes them all that more special

The only way they finish higher than 4 is if they win the national title. That propels them all the way to number two

IDK.. I'm not sure I think a title means a team is automatically better than the rest. I find it harder and harder to rank '20, '12, '15.

10 and 15 didn't win titles, but I think the overall field was stronger those years. I think those teams were more talented. And I think they didn't have luck on their side, which you need to win the title.

I haven’t seen even one person agree with you that it’s top 2. 3 maybe though depending on how things play out from here on. Could definitely pass that team. Nothing short of a national championship will put them ahead of 2015.

2010 team had a pretty easy path to the championship if you ask me they choked plain and simple
