I know the 38-1 team but the SEC was not very good then. Now we are the best conference or tied for it . Obviously 2012 is the best but this team is just so damn deep and balanced and we have better guards then the 38-1 team did.

2015, 2012, and then either this team or 2010.
Agreed. That Monk Fox team was awesome come March.Really this. I'd include 2017 in that mix as well with 2010 and this year's team.

No. Just no.
Well consider the source...
That being said I do think (as of now) it is one of Cal’s best teams BUT it’s way to early
To coin them Cals second best team ever considering the 38-1 team, the John wall team (yes i know they lost in the EE) and the title team
They definitely were but they had their struggles like most teams have during the course of the season. The blowout loss to Florida comes to mind and losing to a terrible UT team but they should have cut the nets down that year. We were the best team in the country come tourney time. The roofer got us. He won’t be doing anymore of our games after that Thank GodThey were good out the gate. That team was robbed. Definite final four group.
They win the title they go to second place1. '12,
2. '15
3. '17
4. '10
5. '19
Obviously this team could move up...maybe to 3rd.
That is completely fair as it is debatable. But if someone says the 2010 team they are thinking about them as NBA players and not what they were in college. That team had a fatal flaw- couldn't shoot. I am alright if you want to argue this team vs 38-1 and obviously the 2012 team was the best of the last 10 years but this team is so damn good.IMO the Fox/monk team is better then the Wall team by tourney time as well.2015, 2012, and then either this team or 2010. Lot of ball left. Remains to be seen

Yeah again I am good with that thinking . I do think if we win the title then no one could debate it any more .I don't think this team is as good as 2012 or 2015, but 2010 is certainly up for debate. The 2010 team was amazing but had a major weakness in that the team lacked a really good shooter.
The only real weakness this current team has is a reliable shot blocker but EJ and NR have been stepping up more, so I don't consider it near as strong a weakness.
None taken but as you see many are in my line of thinking ( thinking this team is top 2-4 ) . As I said I can buy right now that 12 or 15 were better but the 9-10 team is thought of so highly because the NBA players they became. They played a poor schedule and did win a crap ton of games but no team with a horrible fatal flaw ( like Duke this year mind you as well) can be an ultra elite team. And I think this year's team is becoming that. We have such great balance and depth and talent. 8-9 NBA players.Considering the 2012 and 2015 teams, not to mention the inaugural 2009-2010 year, this is a trash take. No offense OP.
Their ceiling is 3rd best and that's not a slight in the least. The 2012 and 2015 teams were just outstanding.
I think it's firmly planted at 4th right now. Very tough to pass 2010, 2012, and 2015. I think this team would have to win out to make a case to be 3rd.
The only way they finish higher than 4 is if they win the national title. That propels them all the way to number two

IDK.. I'm not sure I think a title means a team is automatically better than the rest. I find it harder and harder to rank '20, '12, '15.
10 and 15 didn't win titles, but I think the overall field was stronger those years. I think those teams were more talented. And I think they didn't have luck on their side, which you need to win the title.
