-Ridiculous we don't have the Louisville/Indy rotating IU game. Those we're a blast.

-The Knight doc was good other than the noted sports writer moral high horse ********. They left a ton of **** out though, really surprised the Connie Chung stuff didn't make it in there. Can you imagine him saying that in 2018? What a bitter old bully.

-Good team coming in Saturday, let's tighten up that rotation and run these fools. Get back to having some fun.

-November was bleh, about 3-4 days of nice fall weather and a lot of freezing temps, snowy mix, clouds and darkness. As it is every single year. F*ck that month and good riddance. December is much better, at least December has f*cking integrity.

-Good fresh omelet pan is hard to beat.

If I could go full Alex Jones for a minute...

The owners of college basketball have a vision of what they want the game to look like, and the one image is of a white guy lying on his back and yelling "LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" after having just taken a charge. Their favorite game this year was when Brad Davison took five charges against NC State.

*You’re right, BKH, and it's because the coaches get entirely too much say in the rules. The majority of them want to micromanage the **** out of every possession. And most of them can’t get great athletes so they want to negate the advantage of the teams that can. Slow it down, hack it up, take charges, etc... Virginia and Wisconsin are the the poster boys for this cancer.

*In my memories, Mashburn never missed a shot in his career.

:25 seconds on the shot clock and Cal is standing at half court pointing to the spot he wants each guy.

Just let them play ya fat wop.

-The Wisconsin thing was terrible and it's rightly getting a ton of criticism.

Why does nobody in a position of power seem to care that the game doesn’t look like that anymore?

Because there is not one uniform governing body for college basketball. There is a rules committee obviously but then each conference is on its own little island when it comes to how the game is called.

It’s getting better. The mud wrestling dry hump hack fest reached a crescendo when UL won the fake title in 2013. I remember watching them play Witchita St in the Final Four and Steve Kerr was on the broadcast. After LUUUUUUUKE ripped Ron Baker’s arm off while Baker tried to call a to Kerr was dumbfounded and went off on college officiating.

The way Nova, Michigan and hate to say it, Carolina, play is good for college ball.

Pitino was an offensive genius for a 10 year run between 87-97. All of those teams were a pure joy to watch. He is a complete dirtbag, but man...I'll never forget his time at UK.

Comparing the Cal era vs. the Pitino era...it's statistically almost a dead heat.

Pitino - 8 full seasons, .814 winning percentage, 1 NC, 1 Runner-Up, 3 total Final Fours, 5 SEC Tournament Championships

Cal - 9 full seasons, .810 winning percentage, 1 NC, 1 Runner-Up, 4 total Final Fours, 6 SEC Tournament Championships

They mentioned it. Showed women marching on campus in protest, but just noted how untouchable Knight was on that campus.

As good as Cal's '10, '12 and '15 teams were, I've never seen UK basketball as consistently good/entertaining as it was from '93 to '97. Not to mention the fact that college basketball as a whole was a significantly better product back then. I still love the sport, but it's a shadow of what it was.

* This 30 for 30 on Bob Knight is fantastic, but this director/narrator is going full modern journalist by how much he's making himself part of the story. I know you did good, diligent work, but pump the brakes just a tad.

It's amazing how self-unaware sportswriters are. Nobody cares about how invested you were in this piece, Grantland Rice. We don't read/watch stories about sports because of the nerds who put them together. We read/watch them because of the dudes playing. I'm sure it's neat for you to see your name in print alongside all these famous athletes, but it ain't about you, Pointdexter. Nobody cares about your personal life. We all have kids, Kyle. Shut up.

Modern sportswriters are the worst.

Speaking of, I highly recommend the Jeff Goodman podcast with Adam Morrison. The Wiltjer story was crazy.

-Today G told his teacher, hussy wearing a UL shirt, that Cardinals eat their own Pee. She told me and I responded, "yeah we don't like Cardinals in our house."
********. Never happened. Why not say, "G is so woke he asked his teacher how she could support a university that used hookers to lure recruits after looking the other way when their married, Catholic coach knocked up an assistant coach's wife in a restaurant and then paid for her abortion."? You know you want to.

Let's go to the store buddy, pick out anything you want.
This part I can believe.

^Actually the opposite. I don't get your first statement but I didn't say, "lets go get whatever you want." Just said, "we don't like Cardinals in our house." Followed by a bit of an awkward silence where I think she was expecting me to tell him not to say that. Sorry toots.

Last weekend Poppop had been teaching him, "Cardinals eat their own poop and drink toilet water."

In retrospect, that frontcourt of MASH (his name should aways be capitalized and you should pour some sort of liquid on the floor in homage every time that prince of a man is mentioned, imo), pre-headcase Roderick Rhodes, and pre-injury Rodney Dent was *STRONG*.

You had Riddick, Prickett, and (lol) Martinez off the bench, too. And Sweet Walter McCarty was redshirting and scarfing down three pizzas a day to put on weight to boot, just in case.

Out back you had a little bit of freshman Tony Delk on the bench for some string music when Travis Ford needed a rest. And the immensely average but tough Dale Brown at the two.

Good times, man. Good times.

Does Anthony Davis top Jamal Mashburn as most beloved modern day Wildcat?

Objectively, Anthony Davis did literally everything you can do in one season. But Mashburn, man, rescued this program in the midst of disaster, was cooler than John Wall for his time, and then ended up being some philanthropic business man when his NBA career ended.

That's tough. The teenager in me leans Mashburn. He was literally as cool and awesome as it got.

-sitting at clean sweep...waiting on the "super interior" for Dad's truck(borrowed whilst mine was getting a "new" engine)...50 bucks and 45 mins for thorough car wash. Its a racket...need to open a car wash. Poor manager ased if i wanted a thorough cleaning...i asked him if they usually just did a half-assed job. Im salty.

-dudleys tonight with mrs rudd for our anniversary dinner. Havent been in a long time...looking forward. Don't do big gifts for each other anymore...i got poultry scissors and she got vionic slippers.

-bought a car(suv) last week. I recommend toyota on nicholasville. I texted the GM and asked for an out the door price and had it back in 5 minutes. Show up drive/confirm its the one mama wants/wrote a check. Painless. More than fair on the trade in.

-never cease to be amazed by louiville fans complete lack of self-awareness and delusions of grandeur. Im almost embarrassed for them.

I didn't know we were allowed to teach him cool stuff like that. Can't wait til I see him next. [winking]

The funniest thing to me about little kids and that stuff is how often they use these bad words/phrases/things in the correct context. Cracks me up. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE HE LEARNED THAT -parent

I'm getting better, but MAN that's hard for a non kid ball. The worst is when I drop a bomb, then instinctively/immediately say '****' b/c I know I messed up, for the classic double bomb. :flushed:

I would like to hear a G F-bomb before that's erased though, if you can arrange it.

This. Watching that video reminded me how much I lived-and-died with every game back then, especially against IU and UofL. Even the CBS graphics hit the old nostalgia button. God I miss that game. Now, I care, but meh. AAU, one-and-done, the Internet, look-at-me officiating, etc. have ruined the game.

Wife's Altima dropped the CVT transmission last weekend. Called the service manager and he told me to bring it in and he would take care of me in a couple days. Picked it up from the dealer with newly installed transmission last night. Wrote a check for $3800 and change. Painful.
