He also has had some of the highest ranked best athletes join him at Kentucky since 2012 and has underachieved with them. Definitely has been a great success but take the bad with the good. He's underachieved with the talent level he's had. The UCONN game where he blew it was just beyond terrible.
Is that so? Im ready to debate this. Like I've always said Tubby is a way bettyer coach than Cal. Tubby issue was he could never recruit players. But once he got them here they committed to play there hearts out. Make Cal the recruiter and Tubby the coach we'd have 4 or 5 championships in Cal Era. I don't think anybody could say Tubby was a bad coach. His style of ball right now would be very good with a legitimate team this year
Highest ranked athletes is only part of the puzzle. Do you really think it's an anomaly that the only one and done teams to win the title have been 2012 and 2015? If you measure success only by the amount of times Cal has failed then of course it will look bad. That's flawed reasoning.
You missed my point. I'll make it simple for you buddy. Put Cal's recruits into a team with a x and o coach you'd have several championships. I've never heard no UK fan say wow Cal coached a hell of a game to date.

Flawed reasoning is not using common sense and seeing the number of times he's layed eggs from a coaching/leadership standpoint since 2012.... and yea the UCONN game...WOW. probably one of the most embarrassing losses ever imagined. You're doing it again. You're noting a few notable losses and blanketing it across the entire tenure of one of the most successful coaches in modern basketball history.
Guess what, every coach except one loses their final game of the season. Why do most coaches lose? Because they were outmanned/out-coached. That doesn't suddenly invalidate the 99% of other games that got them there and/or resulted in great achievements (SEC titles etc.).

Cal is not beyond criticism, but your beyond pessimistic view is pathetic. His success is incredible, and it shouldn't be so readily dismissed.

I wasn’t aiming for a “comeback?” I was simply stating a fact. Which is true.
Criticize certain aspects of the game or players performance? Sure ... but to go on a menstural tirade bringing up duke and underachieving blah blah blah is asinine. We know all of this. We know we got destroyed by duke. We know we’ve had heartbreakers in the last few years.
