As I recall, we DID go after Wright in that 07 coaching search that instead ended up with us hiring friggin Billy Gillispie. But he was not interested.

I think Wright is just total Villanova through and through, and not interested in any other college job.

We did contact Wright but he wasn't interested. He has a good thing at Villanova with a ton of local talent to pick from. Looking down his roster he has 11 players from the Philadelphia or surrounding area and doesn't have to travel across country for recruiting. Seems to be more of an Eastern type to being with and probably not a good fit.

I flew from NY to Boise sat in the 2nd row behind the bench. Did the same to Atlanta. I am not sure what money has to do with opinions or being a fan, but I’m far from broke and I think your whole line of thinking is totally idiotic. Don’t lump in most fans because you are entirely wrong. We have had a tremendous run the last 9 years and I wouldn’t trade our coach for any other. I don’t think he’s perfect, but the good far outweighs the bad.

Jay Wright would not survive here. He is a great coach and has had success over the last few years but he has coached many years without a lot to show for it. How many Big East championships did he win when it was The Big East.
