Tuesday Randoms:
- This southeast Ohio family massacre is so interesting. Cops have discovered a marijuana-growing operation along with a cock-fighting ring. Pure Appalachia.
- Hit up Jungle Jims Saturday courtesy of a gift card from Christmas. Man, the obese sure love that place. Much different than the talented clientele I see weekly at Kroger/Fresh Thyme. Not a grocery guy in the least, but that place is pretty amazing- for beer selection alone. Picked up a Gino's East frozen pizza that was really good (among a **** ton of other things).
- I'd love UNC to get whacked but I've said from the beginning that their ruined reputation is punishment enough for me. They're a fraud and everyone knows it now.
- I watched a handful of episodes of "Veep" a few years back and found it to be all right. Am I missing out? Seems like a cult hit.
- Those Sand Snakes, tho. :fire:
- Seems pretty obvious to me that Bolden is waiting to see what Lee does. I don't understand how anyone could see it any other way at this point.
- In a preposterous sports world there is nothing more preposterous than college football recruiting. The idea of "commitments" and such is pretty ridiculous, to the point where following it at all pisses me off. "I am completely committed to Kentucky! But much love to Card nation and my latest scholarship offer! Excited for my visit!"
- UK 2017 recruiting appears this way to me at this point:
PG-
Cal is as close to ALL-IN as can be with Trae Young. I would be shocked if he goes elsewhere. Also think his pitch as a Ulis/Knight hybrid makes since. He's a savvier playmaker than Knight and a more explosive scorer than Ulis. Obviously, would be hard to be as good as either.
Wings-
Knox- UK's in the mix but sounds like Duke will be tough to beat, smooth pure 3-man
Trent Jr.- pure shooter, but again, sounds like a Duke lean
Diallo- Cal's been on this dude for awhile and he has blown up; Duke trying to get in but sounds like a Calipari kid; UConn has been on him a longtime; Archie Goodwin-type 2G with freaky athleticism and ability to get to the tin; would be a great complement to Young
Petty- has struggled a bit, but loves Kentucky and is a 6'7" wing with great athleticism and a decent shot
Porter, Jr.- elite talent; freak athlete; terrific shooter; perfect college combo forward; we land this package with Young, everything can just build around those two; Kansas and Washington appear to be competition
Washington- blowing up and likes UK a lot, we probably lead
Vanderbilt- kind of a MKG/Jones hybrid; one of those forwards who can guard multiple positions, clean the glass and lead the break; UK right-there
Bigs-
Richards- sounds like close to a lock; big, athletic with upside
Bamba- absolute freak with 7'8" wingspan; already a defensive centerpiece and outstanding rebounder with developing offensive repertoire; going to be a fist-fight with Duke
Carter- UK, Duke and Harvard with Duke the team to beat; polished low-block scorer

ESPN's Final Class of 2016 Rankings are here. Notes:
* This is a LOADED class and UK has three of the Top 9, four of the Top 14 and five of the Top 24. Plus, Bolden is sitting at #16.
* Starting to think Monk will be our best freshmen. Much more polished game than I first thought.
* Wonder if Quentin Goodin will end up being one of those Xavier steals. Thoughts from people familiar with KY HS basketball?
* This class is so good that you have absolute STUDs like Ferguson (#11), Isaac (#12) and Andrew Jones (#30) on down the line a bit.
* Harvard with FOUR- count'em- FOUR Top 100 recruits. Wonder if this will become a trend- good-not-great recruits going the Ivy route. Seems more than ever, these black kids are valuing education or at least, the prestige of the school's reputation. I honestly think Duke benefits a lot from this, as well.
