UCL - I didn't care for TPB, but revisited it some time later when I couldn't find anything else to watch. It gets a lot better, and it seems like it's in your wheel house.

Wouldn't be surprised if it didn't help inspire Sunny in Philadelphia.

It probably didn't, so it's good that you won't be surprised when it's confirmed you are correct.

Good for Jake Arrieta. Would have been horseshit to see some Reds 4A no-name bench jockey squeeze one thru the 5 1/2 hole to break that thing up.

A perfecto against Randy Johnson. A no-no in the playoffs against Roy Halladay. Another against reigning Cy Young winner Arrieta. Any other ball kicks I'm missing??

James Hardens beard is absolutely disgusting.

Kentuckys pension system = can you imagine relying on Matt Bevin and his merry band of idiots in Frankfort for your financial well being?? . 401k > underfunded pension.

So Conor Mcgregor isn't really retiring???! OH THANK HEAVENS!

This weekend is full of Jew holidays, per my gyms significantly reduced schedule and random closures. Just an FYI.

Forgot to add -- I routinely sleep like a baby. Exercise works wonders. Try it sometime.

.

Something about Bevin actually getting things done despite the mess Beshear and Co. created have you upset?

Don't know who to blame, but one thing is certain -- Bevin is a solid dude. The type of guy you'd love to sit down and share a brewski with.

-[laughing] @ the Reds. I told you idiots, well not all of you b/c some knew we were going to be historically awful, but the ones that were like OMG we may not be that bad. Yes, we're awful. Just glad it happened last night, all hope was zapped, we're light years behind Chicago. Let's actually clean house for real this time. 16-0 no hit. BWHAHA

-Another awesome typical April weekend forecasted on the way with 4 months of spectacular weather to follow. :cool2: Puppies scent WCC and BBdk.

-So I have a damn licensing test next week. Last test I took was for state licensing 10 years ago. Little bit dusty on my study/prep.

I'm no politic but it seems like getting the unfunded pension funded has been Bevin's #1 priority. For all his faults I would think that would be the last thing you could criticize him for.

*Bevin takes more selfies than a high school girl. Always with that same **** eating grin too.

*Went to the Bats game last night. Company got a suite on $ beer night. Good times. What isn't a good time is the hangover I have right now. I guess it's age because I only had 6 beers in a 5 hour time span.

*Anyone considering driving downtown tonight...don't. Bridges shut down and traffic is a friggin nightmare. It took me almost 2 hours to get from my house to the park.

*Father/Daughter dance tonight at school. Pretty excited about it, actually.

<-- Definitely NOT criticizing him. Not for that anyways. That wasn't my point. Just think the entire pension system is a disaster. Public, private, whatever. Can't imagine spending the rest of my life praying some idiot politician doesn't destroy my life's savings. Or have to rely on him to preserve it. 401k, ftw.

The Reds won't be "historically awful." They lost 98 games LAST YEAR.

To SAEs point -- had a co worker announce to the world via social media that she burst into tears during a work meeting after hearing about Prince. Naturally, I burst into tears when I read her post.

I know it's still early, but anyone got a successful **** story yet today?

Hot Shots Part Deux is on tv. Work from home day ftw. #soblessed

-Well they just got no hit while allowing 16 runs. So... we'll see, bub. Homer is on the way though and our pitching sucks but these guys can hit errrrrr.

-Agree on Bernie. Need Beavis back and AGS to drop in occasionally. Swimmer has been MIA for a bit as well.

- About 5 years ago I had to swear off draft beer and go bottles / cans exclusively when I was noticing a similar outcome Bernie.

Half a dozen drafts would somehow become the equivalent of an 18 pack on my system.

- Looking forward to seeing the Reds get pounded into oblivion for a second straight year.

- Not torn up on the Prince death in the least. I do find myself not appreciating someone's music as much like the Symbol's who had their heyday decades ago and has been around since, but in the shadows. Out of sight out of mind, then they croak and you're like, "oh ****, forgot that band had such good music".

- Turbo busy at work. There's always a lull February - 4/18 while advisors hammer out taxes, then it's a sprint until June before anyone worth a damn vacations for seemingly the summer. I'll take it and hopefully join the ranks of those in here on #teamcrushingit

- Staining the privacy fence part deux this weekend. Got a commercial grade paint sprayer. Throw in a cooler full of True Pilsners and some tunes; ideal weekend to knock it out.

- Anyone started making plans for the Bama roadie yet? Figure Clark will let us all crash at his pad....

- Prince was so amazingly talented. Arguably the most talented overall musician of my lifetime. So well rounded. I wish I had gone to the concert when he was in town last year. Oh well.

- Coached and played in well over 500 youth baseball games over the years. And most of the games are pretty forgettable. But the other night I saw something special in our Majors division (10-12 YO league). 1-0 pitching gem, complete game for both pitchers. 2 12 YOs (and very close friends) just going at it. Both throwing in the 60s. Kid on the other team approached 70 a few times. He ended up pitching a no hitter and struck out 12, but he walked 3 and hit one batter (unfortunately 05), which ultimately was the difference in the game. We scored on a passed ball. Our pitcher threw a 5 hit gem. He doesn't strike out as many batters, but he has incredible control, and rarely walks anyone. Our SS snagged/snowconed a sure 2 run double liner in the 5th inning to save the game. Very very cool experience. One of those games that the kids and coaches will be talking about forever.

- Bernie, did you ever play in the Portland Baseball League? We are doing a fundraiser/equipment drive for them, and just wondered if you knew anyone down there still. Vern?

It bums me out when artists who I really enjoy die, especially when they're still producing like Bowie and Prince were. Hell, I just saw Prince when he came to the Palace last year and he was phenomenal. I don't see anything wrong with sharing videos and celebrating that artist on social media.

That being said, I think people who seem to compete over how sad they are and have some angle about how they're destroyed by this random famous person dying, are just trying to make it about themselves, they probably do that with everything, and they're generally awful.

"You don't understand, I was bullied in high school, and every day after school I would go to my room and listen to p**** control and decide to wait one more day before killing myself, and eventually things got better..."

People generally want to feel a part of something, I guess. Social media makes that easier. It is weird that people cry in public (or pretend they do) over someone they never met, though.

My babysitter was batshit crazy about Prince. Won't ever forget that. When Purple Rain came out, it's the only thing she (and her friends) talked about. They wore that cassette tape out at our house. For a lot of girls who are now 45-55, he was pretty much Elvis.

Never played baseball in Portland outside of pickup games at Duncan park. My grandfather always picked me up from school and took me to Prairie Village for practice and games.

Friday Shorts:

- Do we have MMA Guy in GYERO at all? That dude is the worst. If I'm at a bar and they have one of those fights on with the sound, get me the F out of there. Bad vibe.

- Sour beer is terrible.

- Why do these kids keep committing to UKFB?

- Three chicks on Around The Horn yesterday. Good for progress, I guess [eyeroll]

- UNC is going to get smacked. Don't buy into the millions they're pouring into PR efforts. Those banners may not come down, but they're going to be sitting out a tournament at least.

- Manhattan vs. Old Fashioned-> which do you prefer?

- Kimmy Schmidt is still terrific one episode into the 2nd season.

- Rocking the red chinos today. Fresh.

- Thunder over Louisville and fireworks extravaganzas in general can get pumped. With that said, enjoy your Derby season, Louisvillians.

- IMO:

1. yoga pants
2. short gym shorts
3. Daisy Dukes
4. jeans (low-waisted)
5. sun dress
