Compulsory post, because it's still stuck in my craw:
With ~5 minutes left, Kaminsky goes to the line. All of the UW players are tugging their shorts. They're obviously worn out. Kaminsky short-arms the free-throw. I turn to atlantahappycat and say, they're exhausted, they're toast, we win.
Usually it only took 25-30 minutes for us to wear teams down. UW hung in there, but they finally hit the wall at 35 minutes. But instead of hitting the accelerator and finishing it at that point (in fact, only one more made FG might have been the dagger), we hold up and let them catch their breath.
I Guaran-F'ing-Tee if Tyler Ulis is in that ballgame, we do not get 3 straight shot-clock violations.
Last year was the reverse of 2012 for me. 40-0 just seemed too good to be true. I thought Arizona would be the ones to take us out, as they matched up well with us. Even though I wasn't convinced we'd win it, that loss has lingered because if not with that team, then when?
Like Geese said, I never could lock in on this year's team after last year's letdown. I enjoyed watching Ulis, Murray and Willis, but it's like this was somewhat of a lost season for me.
And I totally get why it's being rehashed now, 1 year later. We all - or at least I - needed to get through this season to finally turn the page on last season.
Now, bring in BMF and the rest of the Monstars, and let's get to work on 9.
