And what role should the Republican governor of Ohio play in this scenario? What a low-brow reflexive response to blame Pete for not saying something to satisfy you.... though we know that no matter what he said, you'd still share your angry white male grievance.oh good acid rain....im sure mayor pete will get right on it, hes been busy dealing with racist roads

You should learn how to tag somebody and explain your reasoning for why I'm worse than you. What makes you superior to me?dpic73 continues to be a leftist POS.

Link?Yeah...you obvious didn't listen to mayor Pete's press conference that not only didn't discuss this, it was about white construction worker taking jobs from people of color. Great job Pete.
Honest question... Do you just make this stuff up? The CNN and Fox stories are from today... MSNBC is from several days ago, so fair enough there I gues.little weird theres reports of dead fish and cattle over 100 miles from the site, the visuals are terrifying, yet theres not even local news covering it in the area. actually took a look at cnn msnbc and fox just now...not a word about it on their front pages. all covering the war on balloons. well msnbc had something about trump because i think his name is just locked in their headline text box - hes all they have. white house dgaf about the incident or the people there thats for sure. really hope fraggle rock is asked about it, shes always good for a laugh. the global warming loons are seemingly unconcerned by the air, land, and water being polluted. buttplug is out enjoying his 4 year paid vacation somewhere.
this admin is like a child that spills something all over but is afraid of getting in trouble...so they just dont mention it until someone notices and then starts throwing out every excuse under the sun for why it wasnt their fault and why they never said anything. you couldnt make it up, theyre unintentionally hilarious to see in action. tis unfortunate theyre also a wrecking ball to the country tho

Leave it up to you to link everything to Trump. LOL!
Oh hell yeah, if you're going to turn this thread into a white MAGA grievance-fest against the Secretary of Transportation, who did not derail the train, or light the chemicals on fire, we will rightly pass the blame around.Leave it up to you to link everything to Trump. LOL!
You will see that I did not say a word about Buttagay at all. I am upset over this for the true environmental disaster that it is and am very dismayed that the news is not reporting on it which I guess points the finger at deep state control of all msm.Oh hell yeah, if you're going to turn this thread into a white MAGA grievance-fest against the Secretary of Transportation, who did not derail the train, or light the chemicals on fire, we will rightly pass the blame around.
Like clockwork, Republicans **** **** up by deregulating a crapload of regulations that keep our air, soil and water safe and then when the **** hits the fan, it's the Democrats fault - somehow. Then when we want to put the regulations back in place, your side screams like bitches and remove them again when they get back into power - to placate their corporate overlords of course.
Meanwhile, the new MAGA Senator for Ohio, JD Vance, spent the last ten days going on FoxNews to own the libs and doesn't mention the accident until today, because attacking the other side over fantastical lies is much more important than the citizens of his state. This board knows this scheme well.
FYI, they determined that draining the chemicals from the train cars into pits and lighting them on fire was the best option to prevent a catastrophic explosion. You're mad at Pete for what? What is he supposed to do about the decision made by people who are more intimately involved? I see that all the board MAGAs understand the issue intimately, so maybe you should share your expertise with Pete directly?
Your original post has a tweet that seeks to blame Pete for something that is not his responsibility and then the others piled on, so yes you did bring him into it. But in the past, whenever we had a transportation related incident, I don't remember you coming on here and screaming "Where is Coco Chow?"You will see that I did not say a word about Buttagay at all. Nope. That just happened to be the tweet that reported the issue and I did not put it here with the idea to blast butt a gay...LOL!! He has plenty of lube I am sure and can handle the intrusion!Your original post has a tweet that seeks to blame Pete for something that is not his responsibility and then the others piled on, so yes you did bring him into it. The news is reporting on it because I've seen stories about it everywhere I look so maybe it's YOUR sources?? Interesting also that you're now an environmentalist LOL. How convenient of you to convert when you think you can blame a disaster on a democrat.
Train derailments happen all the time, it's just rarely reported on. If they wrote an article about every train derailment that occurred we'd be seeing multiple articles per day in the news - just in the US.
Buttagay now being bent over by others in his own community.....not literally. I didn't say any of that? I said train derailments happen all the time, since Growls posted an article listing 2 more recent ones (one of which was where a driver tried to beat a train across a railstop) and made a comment about how it all may be happening on purpose. Please show me where there have been larger scale chemical spills that require us to burn off dangerous toxins without any real understanding of what it might do the atmosphere and the environment around the area where many hundreds of thousands of people live, if not more. This is a ridiculous situation that has been handled ridiculously. And doing so it is expose people to potentially dangerous fumes without any real understanding of what the possible consequences could be. I say this keeping in mind that in addition to the federal government the governor of Ohio is helping manage this problem and he is a Republican. This is a non-partisan matter related to the overwhelming and competence of our government officials these days.
Dismissing it is just another train derailment is ridiculous. I'm sure you know that but it doesn't suit your agenda so you'll gloss over that fact I suppose. It's very possible due to your callousness over this issue that you're ESG rating could be dropped and therefore you will be no longer able to work in the United States.

I'm not an environmental engineer and I'm not privy to the Ohio EPA and US EPA rules and regulations regarding how to handle vinyl chloride contamination. I do know that NS made a judgement call after consulting the Ohio EPA as well as their legal team for how to best prevent contamination. Will this end up being the correct call? I don't know, because apparently there isn't much data on long term effects when vinyl chloride is burned and inhaled/exposed to people.
edit: I do know that they set the material on fire because they thought this would be the best way to prevent the Ohio River from being contaminated. Source: my good friend from Clemson is on the team managing the clean up
Train derailments happen ALL the time - something like 1800 occur every year in the US. This specific derailment is a huge issue because 1. the material being transported was hazardous, but wasn't labeled or manifested as hazardous by NS, and 2. it occurred in an area alongside a major US waterway which could completely decimate the local ecosystem.Ok. Even this matter is politicized. Not saying by you though in this case. I read someone last night postulating these kind of derailments didn't happen when Trump was president. It's just so ridiculous because the president doesn't have anything to do with derailments on the railroads. Of course in this thread someone else tried to blame deregulation for these derailments which I also think is ridiculous. Is the old saying go to s*** happens.
I do look to our leadership for the response to these problems though. What people were saying about the response within our leadership structure was not comforting and made the whole thing seem very ridiculous. Hopefully it all ends up being ok. There's enough suffering right now and we don't need to add more.

I have less issue with who's in office, and more issue with the big lobbying arm of major corporations owning all the politicians in office. This article https://www.levernews.com/rail-companies-blocked-safety-rules-before-ohio-derailment/ does a good job explaining how they've been able to skirt around improving safety measures in order to keep costs down.
