Can’t blame coaching when players are flat out getting beat because the fanbase isn’t motivated to provide the support to be successful. #41 is a huge liability and is only playing because other kids are either banged up or not ready. The DE’s can neither seal the edge or rush the passer. The safeties are acclimating and making mistakes along the way. Porter is the only Big Ten caliber DT. Our best corner hasn’t played since the beginning of the season. On offense, our quarterback is having trouble hitting the broadside of the barn. So this is a 💩show which will be fixed next year.
BWAHAHAHA slurp slurp slurp away Al!!!

Agree. We don’t offer what those 3 offer. How about the other 50 teams that are consistently better than us.
We don’t play with 50 other teams. We play 9 games with 17 other well capitalized Big Ten teams. Are we going to compete in the Big Ten or should we go somewhere else.

Maryland and Purdue are the only programs we can reasonably compete with. We might be able to compete with Michigan and Penn State only because they’re down. But with $425M in NIL, it’s inevitable that MSU will pass us by. Northwestern just spent over $1B in facilities. We just don’t fit in financially.

You lost me at $425mm. You obviously don’t read the details of the donation.

You continue to make the point. Penn state douches always fake they have no idea they’re tools. And pretend to not be condescending trolls. Stay on your board and we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
I have never once felt the need to go and post on another teams board. Yet you and many of your trollish douches from Penn State come here.

Such original ruminations, you must be proud. The only reason I posted here was because I think Al is right, with the proper resources HCGS can revive the Rutgers program and make it competitive . I wasn't trolling or making fun of him, as some of you board mongers have stated. Just because someone disagrees with your opinion you feel the need to criticize and attack instead of trying to respect their opinion.

Expectations have been managed down so far it is unbelievable. If he were ever to beat one of the real programs on the rest of the schedule he would probably insist on a contract extension.
Nailed It. It's really sad. The spin that comes from Schiano is truly unbelievable. Rutgers beats a 2025 Purdue team that doesn't win 1 in-conference game and all we hear for a week is how tough it is to beat a Big Ten Conference foe. The 2 years that he made Bowl games (2021 Gator Bowl appearance doesn't count) beating an OOC toilet paper soft schedule and losing Big Ten programs (other than the 2025 Minnesota team) is really his only path to somehow claim the program is making progress. This progress is a False Positive. If he keeps his job for the 2027 season I'm going to lose my mind. SHI will be a ghost town.

No, i didn’t, but here they are.

Of the total commitment, $290 million will be used in support of Spartan Athletics as part of FOR SPARTA: The Capital Initiative for MSU Athletics, which was announced on Tuesday. This gift will accelerate MSU’s ability to compete nationally and build a sustainable foundation for long-term success, while putting college athletics on notice that Michigan State has the resources to be an industry leader.

In addition to gifts to the university, the Williamses are investing $100 million in an entity to be formed by the affiliated organization Spartan Ventures. The investment reflects a determination to see Spartan Athletics lead in an era of unprecedented change across college athletics. Spartan Ventures will serve as the revenue, innovation and development arm of MSU Athletics — creating new revenue streams, expanding strategic partnerships, enhancing student-athlete opportunities and driving long-term financial strength. This investment enables MSU to modernize and scale its approach to athletics program funding, ensuring that Spartan student-athletes have the resources, opportunities and competitive advantages they need in a rapidly evolving environment.

See that’s how you and I are different. I don’t post unless I’ve done the due diligence ahead of time. It’s obvious you didn’t know the details . Because as per usual you didn’t get a single thing about the donation correct. It’s 401 total not 425. 100mm to “seed” NIL. A max of 5-10mm/year can be accessed for all sports to use.

He regressed the past couple of years. So what. After losing our NFL draft pick qb, and not replacing talent lost to the portal, we are worse than we have been in a long time. But He rebuilt this twice, he can do it again. If you think a newbie is going to show up and rebuild this thing in short order, you’re out of your mind. Our fastest route to success is to get this class in and augment with portal talent. We can get back to winning next year.

Greg is a has been now. Everything you cited is a significant screw up by him. You thinking that no other coach can come to Rutgers and win is beyond naive. On par with claiming you deliver women a "slice of heaven" and thinking it's something guys actually say.

It’s what I say, because I’m an original thinker who came up with it myself, thanks to my experiences, which you can’t relate to. You of course, have to regurgitate what others say, especially me. because you have no imagination whatsoever.

Yes he screwed up. But the comeback will be better than the setback. It would be absolutely asinine to throw away 18 years of institutional knowledge and know how, in rebuilding this program twice. He knows what to do. He will seize the opportunity to do it, and that starts with a much better portal haul.

Yes he lost an NFL caliber QB. Yes he lost talent to the portal. With that NFL QB, talent that left to go elsewhere and the best offense Rutgers has had in a decade, Schiano achieved 5 Wins. Couldn't even make it back to the Pinstripe Bowl. He should have been fired on the spot at the end of last season for wasting a really good QB.
Schiano topped out in 2023 and 2024. In 2023 he won against 6 teams with a combined 25-44 record and in 2024 he won against 7 teams with a combined 37-50 record. In summary, those 2 years he won games against losing teams and in some cases teams that were a shell of themselves. He beat no team that had any level of success except against David Braun in his first game as HC and the Minnesota win. That's it. We're closing in on 7 years and Schiano has zero evidence that he'll achieve anything more than one day getting back to the Pinstripe Bowl with a 6 wins season against a soft OOC schedule and 3 additional wins against Big Ten teams having really bad seasons.

Rutgers admin, students, donors, alums, fans deserve more than this crappy product on the field and the results of the last 7 years. If the expectation is to go win the Pinstripe Bowl, Schiano's your man.

The pathetic excuse that nobody else can coach Rutgers and win except for Schiano is a falsehood. To start off Schiano doesn't win and there's tons of evidence to support that statement. Keeping Schiano is the path of not trying to win, compete apathy and collecting a Big Ten paycheck without attempting to compete in the league. Not to mention a wasted 2027 season and more resources flushed down the toilet with less revenue coming in as most fans will check out. The correct path is to refresh, provide a renewed hope for the future and build some excitement with a new Head Coach.

Till date, this hasn’t been a place that could win consistently due to the lack of financial support.
We won from 2005 to 2009, and then suffered through a rebuild season in 2010. Then we won from 2011 to 2014, then suffered through losing seasons from 2015 till 2022. Then we had winning seasons from ‘23 to ‘24. Now we’ve had a second consecutive down season. It goes with the territory. Thankfully we have someone who knows what to do to get us to where we want to be.

Rutgers will never do better than the pinstripe bowl because the fanbase doesn’t care about winning as much as others in the Big Ten. Money talks. Other big ten programs are better capitalized.

USC just built a 300M Fieldhouse and has significant NIL support. Penn State spent a lot of money refurbishing their facilities followed by $700M in facilities improvements. Northwestern just invested over $1B in facilities.

Meanwhile, we have people like you who wonder why we can’t win. It’s simple. Recruits are going elsewhere for bigger bags and better experiencesz

We can go through every big ten team save for Maryland and Purdue, and they will have invested a lot more in football success than we have.

What the players care about first and foremost is their own wallets. Most recent data points to Rutgers NIL position as completely in line and within the same range as Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota, Illinois and Washington, all within $20M - $23M NIL spent on current football rosters. The difference is those other Head Coaches know how to spend money to build a roster, develop players and make good portal decisions. Not so much Schiano. Just because NW built a new stadium at high dollars for a capacity of 35,000 screaming fans of which they may have difficulty filling the stadium, doesn't make a player more likely to go there compared to the importance of compensation, opportunity to win and to continue to develop their skills in pursuit of either their dreams or passion. What matters is the revenue share/NIL money and the Head Coach/Coaching staff.

You know so much about football, that if you left the board, no one would notice, and no one would care.
It's rather sad watching someone around their mid-50s act so naive and clueless about so many things and you need these boards to make up for what you lack in real life.

You create fake threads about narcissistic girlfriends that aren't even close to realistic. You're the narcissist and most women steer clear of you and your so-called slice of heaven.

The difference between us is you desparately desire to be noticed; I could care less if people remember me when I'm no longer posting.

End of the day, I'm not the fool claiming only one coach can win at Rutgers. Plenty can and the school now has a BOG, president and AD all aligned to make that happen. Holding on to someone who continues to drag the program down only resonates with losers who are afraid of the future.

Additional support is needed to recruit, since we don’t have a competitive value proposition. It’s not like recruits fall out of a tree.

Talk about losers, the only reason you’re on this board is you hate Schiano, because his football team took resources that might have otherwise gone to lacrosse.

I don’t think you can name 1 player on the team. You literally are a walking “L”. Please get a Life.

I don’t care that your perception of northwesterns spend is inline with Rutgers spend. You’re not understanding that our value proposition is significantly inferior to theirs. Recruits aren’t stupid. Facilities are a proxy for commitment to success.

The billion that they’ve spent on facilities makes them a far more attractive proposition than Rutgers. The same goes for Illinois, Minnesota, and Washington. Rutgers has had very little capital spending since the outdoor fields were built and hale center was renovated. Furthermore, What about the other schools in the big ten? Don’t you think we should be competing with them?

Yes he screwed up. But the comeback will be better than the setback. It would be absolutely asinine to throw away 18 years of institutional knowledge and know how, in rebuilding this program twice. We should give Schiano a lifetime extension for at least twice the salary and a 10% increase every year based on his institutional knowledge alone!! He can coach till he's old and feeble and manage the game on the sidelines in his hover-round scribbling in his notepad sunshield. Keep him forever and when it comes the time that he sadly passes right there on the sidelines during a game. Bury him at halftime right there at mid- field so he'll always be with us.

Maybe do a little research before getting behind a keyboard. Data in multiple academic and industry studies such as research that was published by Athletic Director U indicate new or upgraded facilities have little to no measurable impact on team recruiting rankings. The primary driver is NIL and revenue sharing compensation, following by playing for winning programs and coaching relationships. How nice the locker room is or the size of weight room is a minimum factor for college players in today's world.

Quoting the University of Houston System Board of Regents Chairman and owner of the Houston Rockets "If you talk to college athletes today, they don't care about that building anymore. They care about how much am I getting paid."

With you it's one excuse after the other for a Head Coach that simply doesn't know how to win in the Big Ten Conference. The reason recruits want to go play for NW is because Coach Braun has shown success on the field and Schiano is not capable of that. NIL/Revenue Sharing Compensation between the 2 schools is close to equal as shown by the Athletic and Sideline.

However, please continue living in a time warp of college football yesteryear if in fact you actually believe anything you write.

Maybe do a little research before getting behind a keyboard. Data in multiple academic and industry studies such as research that was published by Athletic Director U indicate new or upgraded facilities have little to no measurable impact on team recruiting rankings. Haha, you just body slammed and knee capped him all in one post. Waiting on the you don’t understand response now because he knows Rutgers better than any published research.

Even the almighty Greg has stated as such. In one year he shifted from desperately needing a field house as a reason he can’t win to needing NIL.
