Have to imagine MC’s top two receivers are going to have big games. Loyola has the offense to stay in it though. The Loyola RB is fantastic

Shout out to the Loyola fans. They were in prime playoff form that second half. Can’t deny the noise level disrupted IC that entire third quarter when they had the ball near the Loyola fans’ side of the field. Was a great atmosphere

against a team loaded with a legit nfl talent and at least a future power 4 rb/ath. A “school” that is really a football/wrestling academy in disguise with “only 300 kids”
Trying to remember if championship caliber teams (at any level) ever have stumbles in a season. Can anyone look that up for me?

LA has been hilariously underestimated the entire season. Phenomenal *team* who just happens to be phenomenally coached. There’s your difference in case anyone was wondering. And no that doesn’t mean they go undefeated and should be coronated with the state championship.

I kind of liked the horns the Loyola fans were blowing.
Was only half serious. I wasn’t overly impressed with the IC team I saw play a few weeks ago. They are definitely good, but not elite. Obviously a contender in 3A. Bowen is a freak and looks like a man amongst boys. Their qb, although undersized, is scrappy and slippery. Really liked him. Otherwise, nothing special. Maybe they didn’t bring their A game to Burbank? They had to have been pumped for this Loyola game, or Loyola came out flat, or a combination of both.
Difficult to say. Their competition is far better now than it was then.
The horns are obnoxious. I'd have to leave the stadium and find a quiet bar.

Rewatched this morning. A few quick observations:
- IC QB really gets rid of the ball fast and throws an accurate ball. Very impressive.
- Both teams have high-end receivers. IC’s receivers had LA’s D-backs running in circles. LA’s receivers won all the jump balls, especially in the end zone. Both groups were great. (Yes, I'm aware LA doesn't have the 4-star kids that IC, MC others have. They are still a great HS football receiving corps.)
- Maldonado is elusive, fast, and has a big motor.
- The penalty on Bowen hit that could have halted all of LA’s 2nd half momentum was a good call. He launched at a defenseless receiver and didn’t wrap his arms.
- LA’s edge at kicker might have just been the difference. Not just field goals but also average starting position. (Yes, I know IC onside kicked a couple times, but they were doing funky things on kickoffs the entire game.)
- Lee showed some escapability I hadn’t seen yet this season
- Regardless of the 8A v 3A delta, Ramblers should feel good about 24-0 comeback the 2nd half against such a high-end offense.

Yeah, but too much. 1, 7, 9, 19 and 11 never came off the field. QB and 12 only guys not going both ways. The bigs did some subbing but saw action on both sides of the ball. They gave it all the had
I don’t he played for the Elmhurst Bears. The 2 years Bowen coached the team never made it to the championship game. Those kids have really developed at ICCP. The best player from that team wrestles for IC and doesn’t play football.

3A isn’t LA.
It is Byron that is conditioned to wear you out.
LA showed they didn’t slow them down one bit to be in Normal for the 3A title……..
If IC can stay healthy they’ll run through 3a. With all those kids starting both ways you worry about someone getting hurt.
But once you get into the 3A playoffs the injury risk of two way players is the same for most teams. Just saw that IC threw for 367 yards against the #1 team in the state. Seriously!
