I’m sure he has value in AEW, but just because he has value doesn’t mean he has more value (especially long term value) than others that would be getting his potential reps.

So on paper I would not approve of this addition to AEW if it were to happen. I would keep an open mind about rather I like what he’s actually doing or not.

But instead of like an Ilja Dragunov where you’ll have to prove to me signing him was a bad idea, you’ll have to prove to me that signing Sheamus was a good idea.

WWE released a near 40-minute video of people paying tribute to PAC. Surprisingly WWE cut the nonsense for once and actually let the Lucha Bros say PAC.

- Does WWE even have a backup plan? Isn't it supposed to be a CAT 2 on Saturday around New Orleans? I don't think you just avoid the south all together in Sept and Oct but it's still a risk. It's like expecting a traveling show to avoid the NE from Nov to Feb. That's probably not going to happen. I'm enjoying the "Money in the Bank in Vegas" memes though.

- Cody will never step foot in AEW again, even for a retired appearance. I think he holds a grudge for how fans treated him and at the first sign of trouble, he bolted and returned "home." Plus WWE will lock him up for life like they likely have with Cena. They'll try to do with same with Punk, Reigns, Rollins, and Orton too.

- Algorithms be algorithming (?) but for the last couple months YouTube has been suggesting random WWF Superstars episodes from '95-'97. It's a blast going through some of those. The cheesy backstage vignettes, Austin getting no reaction and hitting the Stunner without the kick first, random Sunny appearances, the Godwinns, etc.

He cornered himself into a lose-lose with the shortsighted anti-NJPW stuff before.

Thats why sometimes simple works as a heel. Just get the cheap heat rather than trying to be cute. Otherwise you risk the suspension of disbelief later or end up with egg on the face.

Reminds me of Punk with the “go suck a blood money covered“ deal — only MJFs was kayfabe.

Cody has no one but himself to blame for how he got treated by fans.

Needed to turn heel because everyone was sick of his white meat babyface BS, but he’s a mark for himself so his ego and arrogance led him to refusing to do it.

He became increasingly desperate to turn things around as a babyface but everyone saw through the facade of his inauthentic and fake try-hard junk and it just made things worse for himself.

All he had to do was turn hell. It could have been an electric heel run with as much as the crowds naturally hated him.

He’s kind of the perfect example of why sometimes the AEW creative system just doesn’t work for some people. He’s a guy that needed to be very heavily produced/scripted to save him from himself. He’s a very talented individual, but as he’s admitted himself on the record, something like 90% of his ideas are bad. And boy did we see some just downright dreadful l stuff for him in AEW. omeone like that really just shouldn’t have much if any say in their creative.

This doesn’t sound good. Says Alvarez was told it’s “very serious.” That’s not typically phrasing used even for injuries with a long recovery timeframe.

First time AEW has won the demo on the annual October Tuesday battle since like 2022 or 2023. Obviously once you add in whatever AEW got on HBO Max they'd have more viewers.

For whatever reason, AEW fans struggle with remembering when a show moves nights or time slots. Even though Collision has far less than an ideal broadcast time, Saturdays at 8, seems like the only time it does better outside of that is when they go for one hour after Dynamite or get a big lead in from live sports.

People like this are why we all end up getting bombarded with calls and texts reminding you of your medical appointments. Sometimes you just go to hold people's hand like a child when it comes to stuff like this.

Also being taped always hurts no matter what company it is.

TNA is probably about the best Max can do as a singles at this point. Unless he catches fire like he did with the Acclaimed, I can't see WWE ever wanting him. He could do it though, he got that stupid Best Wrestler Alive gimmick and even stupider chant over with the AEW crowd. I never thought that would work and I'll gladly admit I was wrong with that.

I think it could be a good spot for him and hopefully he does well. I think he would have been stupid to re-sign with AEW if that had even been an option. Since the Acclaimed reuniting was apparently something that was never going to happen, I'm not sure there was much of a future for him in AEW.

His biggest problem is between his ears though. Got suspended at least once for his raps. Has caught the ire of the fans and front office for stuff he has said on Twitter. At one point Bowens had to intervene on Max's behalf to prevent him from getting fired. Tony loves to have a person just sit at home getting paid for the remainder of their contract for whatever reason, so you really got to screw up to get fired by him.

You follow too many randoms lol. NXT has a solid track record so Grey should be fine. @KeemRules should've warned Borden instead of pretending a few vignettes with a 25 year old is the beginning of her downfall.

Dave has been crashing out and responding to everyone on X since the ratings reveal but that's his own undoing. I'm actually surprised by NXT's lately. The roster screams Collision numbers and they tried passing Rook off as a star which is insane. They're copying SD by having several involved in the world title scene so maybe that's helping but it's a show no one needs to watch right now.

How fans talk about not missing much if you skip a Raw or SD, the same can be applied to Dynamite and Collision. WWE moves at a snail's pace and in AEW it doesn't matter if you miss a random match between Mox or Ospreay vs Komander or whoever. Most of these shows don't feel important. But AEW is battling NXT numbers wise and that's puzzling. That developmental roster in that same warehouse against AEW's roster with several former WWE stars and it usually does similar numbers. That's wild. Again though, it's why I laugh when Meltzer says Dynamite is close to or is beating Raw and SD. That's crazy talk.

Educate yourself and get a clue.

You're comparing a TV show that's only available in 53.1 million households (both AEW shows) that's also got a bunch of people watching on HBO Max to a TV show that's available to around 125 million households (NXT). And that 53.1 million number is only going to continue to shrink as people continue to get rid of cable/satellite/streaming cable.

There's a reason why the charts are broken up into separate tables for broadcast and cable. There's a reason why when Smackdown or Dynamite ranks # whatever on the night it's always stated as "#1 on the night on cable." Broadcast TV has a significant advantage in general due to larger audience size. Every home in America with a TV can get it for free, assuming they don't live so far off the beaten path that they can't even pick it up with an antenna.

NXT should be beating AEW with that kind of numbers advantage. That's why virtually everything on broadcast TV beats virtually everything on cable in terms of total viewers (notable cable exceptions for total viewers being live sports and Fox News). The numbers advantage is overwhelming. It would be like a basketball team with five players on the court going up against one with only 2 players on the court. If the 5-man team can't beat the 2-man team then that's pretty embarrassing.

And yet despite that numbers advantage they still lose to Dynamite basically every week in both total viewers and the demo - and CW is a network that heavily caters to the demo-aged audience! - even when not including HBO Max numbers.

So Dynamite does significantly better than NXT in relation to percentage of available homes watching. NXT's USA ratings were far more impressive, and normally bigger at that, than what they are doing on CW. Which is frankly pathetic. Dynamite almost always ranks in the top 5-10. It's now back to it being somewhat common for it compete for the top 1-2 spots, or at least the top 1-2 spots outside of live sports, based on the demo, which is what the rankings are based on.

Even though NXT is a high performer for CW, it on average ranks in the bottom 15-20 original weekly shows on broadcast TV, regularly only beating out other CW content. Most weeks it ranks worse than every original broadcast (as in not a repeat) from Fox, ABC, NBC, and CBS. The worst performing show on from those four networks for the 2025-26 season did an average of 638K. The second worst did 825K. 107 of 124 broadcast network shows averaged over a million for the season. I don't think NXT has even once gotten close to a million viewers on CW.

Dynamite would be beating the breaks off of NXT if we had real HBO Max numbers while it consistently ranks somewhere around #5 or higher on its night. Collision doesn't stand much of a chance for ranking high on Saturdays for numerous reasons, some of which are very much self-inflicted while the worst problems are entirely out of their control (Saturday nights are just bad for a weekly program).

Probably the two best wrestlers, or at least the best man and woman, they've signed to the ID program in it's short tenure and they didn't even re-sign both of them. What is even the point in the program?

If I'm Tony Khan I'm 100% signing Marcus Mathers for ROH. Maybe Laynie Luck too. But she's 34. Might not be worth it to use her in ROH at this point with the way that product is booked.
