So far, Fever players KM, Sophie, and Timpson have signed to play in Project B.

Sophie is a good role player (4th best 3pt shooter in the league this year) and her personality is great. The Fever should absolutely keep her. Any drama from Sophie's podcasting is a tiny speck in CC's world.Get the podcaster off the team. Caitlin has to deal with enough drama as it is
It does seem like ever since Sophie started getting really into these podcasts after games, its been more about her social media presence that her contributions on the court. With Hulls inability to provide much at all on offense we really need Sophie to provide that punch off the benchGet the podcaster off the team. Caitlin has to deal with enough drama as it is
Really going to be a short off season. Who's paying for this nonsense? "salaries like women's basketball has never seen", and " an equity stake'" for another sideshow league? So someone's going to pay Mitchell over a million dollars to play ball another three months for games on YouTube? Pure stupid....So far, Fever players KM, Sophie, and Timpson have signed to play in Project B.
None of this is going to matter unless and until the WNBA ponies up and brings in actual full-time professional referees who aren't largely comprised of angry, petty, jealous women of color who are just itching to T CC up and foul her out of games. As long as we have these sh*tty, part-time contractor refs the game is going to continue to suffer and increasingly become unwatchable.
The new commissioner will mirror the majority of the leagueI agree and maybe my post came across as holding up Engelbert in a high manner which was not my intent. The success of the last few years of the league had nothing to do with her. My point is that hiring a commissioner today is very different than when she was hired. They have to hire someone that can keep this success going from a business standpoint. The league is on the precipice of actually being self-sustaining if it can get its head out of its own *** and actually run like a legitimate league instead of a farcical league that plays favorites with players and has no interest in unbiased refereeing or application of rules. That means not hiring a former player just because they were a good player. That means hiring someone with business acumen.
I say all of this and then remember that Team USA hired Sue Bird to run the show for them rather than an actual executive with team management experience. Her first major move was to hire a coach for Team USA that is what most of us would call, ok but not great. So maybe women's basketball is just a joke once the players get out of college
Disagree they will do what is best for the league...The new commissioner will mirror the majority of the league
CC will give up Fever $ to keep KM CC is wallowing in endorsement $ and millions alone from NikeI think that it is best for Clark to keep her options open.

Sophie shot 38% from 3pt in August. She shot 33% from 3pt in September, but the entire team fell off in September. CC shot 29% from 3pt in September, and she took a ton more shots than Sophie. She fell off hard in August and September.
Fever played 18 games.
Sophie scored 5 points or fewer in 12 of them
Clark does A LOT more then shoot three point shots. Sophie? The point is one also scores in the ;paint and draws fouls and is the leagues best facillitator of offense, and the other is purely a role player. If your not filling that role, than???Sophie shot 38% from 3pt in August. She shot 33% from 3pt in September, but the entire team fell off in September. CC shot 29% from 3pt in September, and she took a ton more shots than Sophie.

We can play that game with anyone. Let's take away a few of CC's best games and look at her shooting stats. CC shot 6-22 from 3pt in the two losses vs the Aces. KM is a ridiculously good shooter, but she shot 4-17 from 3pt in the two losses vs the Aces and 14-44 over the last six games. She had two good games in August where she shot 7/8 from 3 combined. In the other 10 games the Fever played in August Sophie shot 5/23 from 3 combined. She fell off.
Because of the connection, some of the players will really resent Clark more now.Still going to be one of the sisterhood
I would prefer they keep KM but with the AB, SC, and MB contracts I don’t think they can afford her and still field a team with the required minimum number of players.Gotta let KM go.
Fever are so far away. Gotta reimagine this roster.
Need versatility, length, physicality, at the 2-3-4.
The problem with keeping KM is that the team still has the same deficiencies that killed them in the playoffs. Backcourt defense is very limited and you can’t afford to improve the front court depth. And I say that as a person that recognizes she has a lot of offensive game and seems like a good person. Not trying to bash her by saying that.I would prefer they keep KM but with the AB, SC, and MB contracts I don’t think they can afford her and still field a team with the required minimum number of players.
If was a team owner each player would need a full medical exam and clearance prior to each season. Get hurt in another league, sit out unpaid .So far, Fever players KM, Sophie, and Timpson have signed to play in Project B.
Not sure what they can do about that when they have cast their lot with AB. There are only so many dominant posts, and you can’t really afford two of them. The problem with keeping KM is that the team still has the same deficiencies that killed them in the playoffs. But what you end up with then is a situation once you get to the playoffs where if Boston has an injury and can’t play, you’re screwed. Or if both KM and CC don’t have hot games, you’re screwed. Or if the other team is shooting lights out, you’re screwed.
The WNBA is starting to change to a guard-oriented league, but isn’t there yet and will still take several years as more of the elite guards come in and the elite bigs age out. As of right now it still boils down to having the best player down low. LV has Wilson, NY has Stewart. That’s your last 4 title winners. Under investing in the paint has and will continue to kill the Fever come playoff time.
Oh yeah, the Boston contract is stupidly overpaid and going to significantly hamper the Fever for the next several years. Almost every free agent center was overpaid this offseason and she got the biggest one of those contracts. You'd think the player with the largest contract in league history would have at least made one 1st team All-WNBA or 1st team All-Defensive selection. She had a single 2nd team for each of those when she signed the extension and that's it.Not sure what they can do about that when they have cast their lot with AB. Boston needs to not play in any of the ridiculous leagues and get herself 100% healthy, which I don't think she ever was this season. Her and CC are a start but after that they need an entire new team, especially if Mitchell goes. They need a 2 way physical guard like a Rhyne Howard, the signing of Billings was a total albatross, and I'm not sure what that entails if they drop her. Timpson showed great improvement but showed she wasn't really ready against Vegas. You could conceivably keep Hull but you can't have your big guard/small forward go scoreless 25% of the time. I'm not sure what you do with Cunningham. I'm not sure CC needs her being her protector at this point. I think she's going to be a distraction moving forward and she's on the downside of her career in my opinion. Her defense was terrible down the stretch. And then there's the part of do any of the black women actually want to play with CC, because it sure doesn't seem like it. They are going to need 3 new starters next year. They should be getting full medical exams now, preseason. The Fever might need some sort of multi-player deal. Move CC,Mitchell,Billings ,Sophie and Hull if possible. A major longshot.

This makes the most sense.Boston needs to not play in any of the ridiculous leagues and get herself 100% healthy, which I don't think she ever was this season.
With the current CBA, a protected contract like Billings and Hull have is fully protected and also must remain whole. What that means is they either keep the players and pay them, cut the players and pay them, or find a trade partner that is willing to fully pay them. It does not allow cash considerations in trades like MLB does. I don't know anyone that will be willing to pay Billings $800k for a year. Indiana would have to sweeten the pot with some draft picks or a rookie contract player like Raven or Timpson to get a team to consider taking her off Indy's hands.Boston needs to not play in any of the ridiculous leagues and get herself 100% healthy, which I don't think she ever was this season. It so obvious this is not a serious league, at least in how its run, and they just make up the rules, OR ignore them all together if they don't like the outcome.I still find it kinda wild that DeWanna Bonner, who was on a crappy team, was able to just ask to be dropped and picked up by a top team at the end of the season and everyone just said, "Okay". IMO, that made the WNBA look silly.
While I might agree, in a perfect world, it takes two sides to sign a contract, and the PA is going to fight that all the way....The Fever might need some sort of multi-player deal. Move CC,Mitchell,Billings ,Sophie and Hull if possible. A major longshot.
