Do you truly believe Venezuela had the option to say no?
It was kind of like the vaccine passports. You didn't have to take the shot. But you might lose your job, not be able to shop for groceries, and in general shunned from society.

Whatever you want to call it, I don't think it's taking.

The US struck a deal which is mutually beneficial to both countries.

So, we just invade a country and take over their natural resources?
These fruitcakes are now endorsing full imperial plunder, in "partnership" with the same essentially mafia organization that has been controlling that country for decades.

Absolutely no way there will be any blow back for this idiocy in the future! Always works out!

I can imagine what the Venezuelans who thought removing Maduro would bring positive change for their country are thinking.

Yay murder for profit. And in 50 years folks will be asking: why do the Venezuelans hate us?

Rinse cycle and repeat. Are your days better now?
This administration is a disgrace.

I feel bad for MAGA, they don't know what winning looks like anymore.
Yea life in Venezuela is so good they will regret this.

It doesn't sound like there is much of a plan. Typical Trump. The big oil companies aren't jumping in. The deal, such as it is, can be voided by future leader on either side. The guy on point for this plan is under investigation in multiple countries.

same logic that allowed Americans to genocide the natives here. Its for their own good, steal there kids from them and cut there hair and don't let them speak there own language.

No wonder MAGA don't want to teach American history accurately. Feelings like accountability and empathy get in the way of profit.

someone sane please explain this to me. So we strike a deal with Venezuela, as i read it our oil companies or the government will invest upwords of $100 billion dollars to restart the V oil business.

1. A good chunk of this money will be in hiring Venezuelan workers at good paying jobs.
2. Then the US either gets access or can pay at cost for 55% of the oil field production. The other 45% goes to Venezuela.
3. Our oil companies were in V and had done this all in the past before H. Chavez.
4 Chavez and Maduro had decimated the V oil business. The 45% they get will be far more than they were doing.

This truly is a win/win for the US and Ven. You can argue specifics but suggesting this is similar to how the Native Americans were treated is bizarre and takes either TDS or just plain anti Americanism to a whole new level.

You invaded another country and killed their leaders and walk away saying: this is a good deal for everyone. SMH. If its such a good deal and the economic opportunities are so vast im sure we should be shipping all our unemployed to Venezuela to labor camps.
