You are correct on that statement. He got tossed because Cloud lost her mind, and started a verbal altercation with a paid fan, instead of taking care of her business ON the court.
She acted with all the class and self-restraint of one of those women you see in the vid clips losing their sh* t at a fast food worker because they got the wrong sauce. Unbelievable.

When? So any player can decide they don’t like a fan or what they’re wearing and have them thrown out…I’ve never seen it or heard of it, but okay.

I wouldn't say it happens often but players can request stadium security remove fans who are being disrespectful. CC requested a fan get kicked out of a playoff game against Connecticut her Rookie year. Westbrook got a fan kicked out of a game in Utah. There were a couple incidents in the MLB last year.

Regardless of how you feel about what he's doing, she's the one that messed up. Pretty much rule #1 of any sporting event for athletes is to not engage the crowd, no matter how stupid the crowd is acting.

los angeles thumbs up GIF by NBA
True. She should have gone to the ref and snitched on him.

Kanter's a washed up former NBA player who was never more than a middling talent at best who just craves attention. He tried getting into WWE as well. Dude's a clown.
11 years in the NBA, worth over $40M. Sounds like a failure to me. Too bad he didn't do anything meaningful with his life.

I don't have an issue with him getting asked to leave but she should have been ejected immediately. This wouldn't be a story if she acted like 99% of professional athletes act by ignoring the crowd. Wants to be treated like other professional athletes but then acts like a child. Hilarious
💯 Do not engage.

Oh NO. Remember, the WNBA IS ALL about "inclusion", lolol. Sure they are ;)

Okay. Lets go there.People keep saying, why do people want to "fix a problem that doesn't exist" Correct? So, please tell me Why the IOC in charge of ALL international competition, the NCAA, and pretty much every other women's professional league has but in place "ONLY biological females will be allowed to participate". Why has basically every other governing body seen fit to address this as an issue worthy of a firm "this is the line" rule, but the WNBA as always lags behind in taking an actual (and frankly easy and concise) stance. Why?
They should follow the example of other leagues who have instituted testing for fairness and transparency. Agree.

What are the long term effects when we condone men showing up to their games to instigate?
The whole point of protesting and going to games (And I don't give a damn which side does it) is to get the WNBA off of it's dead ***, and make important changes and be more transparent.

It would appear to me Kanter has just been trying to seek attention ... for a lot of worthy causes!

I should be surprised that people are taking Kanter’s side in this, but I’m not.

Guy is an idiot and only went there looking for escalation and attention. Unfortunately that’s what he got.
Nobody has to like his methods, but he's proving a point we've all talked about anyways for years.

And once the game stops because someone in the crowd is having a verbal altercation with a player they should be removed.

People are showing up to see the players, not people showing up to argue with the players.

If he truly cares about women he would be trying to help grow their game, not pulling a publicity stunt to “fix” a problem that doesn’t exist.

The guy is a side show, a circus, a clown.
I wasn't gonna post the above, but you didn't drop the topic, so......

The problem with the WNBA isn't transgender athletes.

It's hypocrisy. And it's been a huge f***ing problem pretty much since the league's inception, and only got worse as the sport grew more and more niche and insular.

Guys like Enes Kanter, who is absolutely 100% playing the troll, wouldn't seek this kind of attention if the WNBA was run like a serious organization................

You know this.

Boston isn’t a problem. It is the coach’s use of her. She’s taking almost 3 3pt attempts per game this season. She should be taking at most 1 per game to keep the defense on her honest, but other than that should be running pick and roll and grabbing offensive rebounds. Her offensive rebounding numbers and FG% are down and her turnovers are up because of the way that White is trying to use her this season. All of those are career worst numbers for her.

Keep her down low and let Clark cook on offense. Clark will get hers but she will also get KM and Boston theirs.

I will agree though, her contract is overpaying for her by probably 10%. Especially if she can’t get and stay healthy because of an injury in her “offseason league”.
Yes, stick with pick and roll. Set high ball screens for Mitchell and Clark. Block out and rebound.

Reeve was paid to be there. She did nothing but coach. Kanter paid to show up after making attention seeking claims that he’s entering their draft and got in a verbal fight with a player.

apples and oranges.
The fact that Reeve is a paid employee and wears apparel supporting a highly controversial matter, only re-enforces how agenda driven the league is. At least Kanter paid money to be there and wore his own apparel. Adam Silver removed agendas from the NBA. The W needs to do the same.

Hell NO.......

Why do you keep making those statements? NO one said he's a great guy. Don't care what he did in the NBA either. Why not concentrate on the real issue. If the WNBA gets off its A--, and does the right thing, then Kanter and his ilk disappear. Pretty simple solution but the foot dragging continues...

Again, how many trans players are currently playing? And I believe you've said there has been 1 but that's also a little unclear. You're all about the whatism's going on. There are currently zero playing. The only people that seem bothered about basically a non issue ( zero players) are guys like you that aren't playing.

Because when Miles has 20 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds in a game, it’s considered one of the greatest games a PG ever had…when Clark does that, it’s considered commonplace and also a down night for her. Clark has made the extraordinary look ordinary and that’s going to hurt her in any MVP race.
Miles will secure ROTY. That is all.

He got tossed because either his t-shirt or his mere presence set the Cuckoo Cloud off.

Apparently they have had an online spat going since Kanter objected to Cloud calling the USA "trash."

After Kanter cheered for Sophie making a three-pointer, the next time down on that end Cloud took off towards Kanter yelling "She ain't going to sleep with you!" LOL! Can't make this stuff up.
As someone who has served in the armed forces, I applaud Kanter for standing for the National Anthem.

Yes, he’s allowed to wear a shirt and he’s allowed to say things to players…not sure why he should have been thrown out other than a player didn’t like him.
Not knowing what was said, He doesn't strike me as the type of person who would profane someone. Lately, W players have been pretty thin-skinned with fans.

That's just patently false.

Sophie made a comment about no biological males should be in girls' sports. She didn't mention the WNBA.

It is people in and around the W, including the traditional media, that pressed the issue and at least one player publicly stated she would welcome a trans player. Also, plenty of fans in Toronto, NYC, and Chicago were "bothered" by Sophie's comments which again didn't mention the W.

I've mentioned her several times already, but it was certainly not a "non-issue" to Reeve, or for that matter the Valkyries coach.

The fact is, that we don't know for certain if there are, or how many there are, until the league follows the path that other women's sports organizations have, and begin testing and verifying. Quite simple really. Just be transparent.

That doesn't make anything I said in my post untrue. He was a mediocre player at best. He tried getting into the WWE. He craves attention. And IMO he's a total clown. Even if I agree with Sophie's position on this, he's doing that argument zero favors through his ridiculous actions of trying to declare for the WNBA draft. Just attention seeking and stupid.

Tear down the messenger instead of the message much?

What does it matter what his playing ability in the League was? You and I would both have killed to have ever touched an NBA floor.

He has brought attention to the hapless plights of many peoples and received many awards and recognitions for it, which you seem to casually shrug off, and now for this issue he is suddenly and purely self motivated? Nonsense.

I would say there are many more people appreciating, and even celebrating, Kanter's involvement than not going by what I have seen so far.

I'd suggest hanging in the NBA for 11 years takes a little more than "mediocre". If not, that opens a whole nother discussion about professional sports.

As for the rest, sure. I can see your point of view. But he has done some meaningful things with his after-basketball life.

Regardless, this whole thing is an absurd circus and was long before he got involved.

I'd suggest there is such a thing as a "mediocre" NBA players, just like there are in every other professional sport.

But I do agree the whole thing is a circus.

Keeping her with White's strategy isn't a recipe for long term success, imo.

My point then becomes...SW or AB???
Ideally I’d keep AB and ditch SW. In the WNBA the coaches can screw up teams a lot more than they can help them be better. There’s only maybe 2 or 3 coaches that are worthwhile in the entire league. Nakase may be the best right now considering what she’s doing with the roster she has. Reeve and Hammon do great, when they have the best players in the league on their rosters. It’d be interesting to see what either one of them could do with GS’s roster. The “horses” on the floor are what really matters in the league.

But AB’s contract is so large that if you can find the right return for it, and free up some cap space, I’d be listening to offers if I was the GM. If Clark doesn’t sign an extension, Boston will be earning almost 3x as much next season. That’s a huge amount of salary, probably around 1/5 of the total cap next season. She hasn’t been worth that much this season and that salary is going to make it hard to get a viable backup for her.
