Is ROH rolled into the AEW numbers?
Appears to be.

https://www.thesmackdownhotel.com/roster/aew/

I say grain of salt because the site may be janky at best. Billy Gunn is included for WWE in 2025 which isn't true and they count Jesse Ventura as on the roster for last year. He did have a deal for an occasional SNME appearance but saying he's on the roster is a stretch. They also appeared to count wrestlers from TNA who made some appearances in NXT. That shouldn't equal you being a part of the WWE roster. Interesting to go through the names over the years though regardless.

How many people on this show got belts? Some of these belts I’ve never heard of “the CMLL world light heavyweight champion” “the CMLL Latin American champion”

CMLL has like 36 belts and doesn’t care about a single one of them. US fans who don’t know CMLL or lucha libre care more about them than CMLL does lol.

And no I am not exaggerating when I say 36, but I admit I could be off by 2-3.

Yep that’s exactly the site I figured he was using. I bet I could go on there now and easily find a minimum of 10 names who are retired (not fake retired), were never wrestlers, were never wrestlers in AEW, or aren’t even under contract before I even get halfway thru the list

It is neat for to look back at past rosters even if historically inaccurate.

For example:
  1. Alex Marvez
  2. Alicia Atout
  3. Arkady Aura
  4. Bobby Cruise
  5. Brodie Lee Jr
  6. Christopher Daniels (retired over a year ago)
  7. Don Callis
  8. Excalibur
  9. Ian Riccaboni
  10. Jerry Lynn
And I skipped listing quite a few people who only appear in AEW to do an occasional job because I’ve never once seen confirmation what their contract status is.

I don’t know if they are under AEW deals or if there is even such a thing as an ROH deal. I’m sure at least some of them are actually signed to some sort of deal because of how frequently they are used in ROH but I can’t say for certainty

Well like purazzo was signed to AEW and debuted there but now in roh so idk if there’s roh only per se but it’s prob less money if your primary on roh like lee moriarty

Yeah I don't know. I know Lee and Deonna are on full-time AEW deals because they are on the AEW website. It's people like Dalton Castle, Adam Priest, etc. who I don't know about because they aren't on the AEW website, so they aren't on full-time deals. But they work ROH so frequently that they surely have to be on some sort of deal.

And then I know at some point they had developmental type contracts. I don't know if they still do or not but they did at one point because Moriarity and Skye Blue were signed to them. It was something like a smaller base salary than a regular AEW deal but then they got paid per appearance on top of that. Basically it is sort of like an NXT deal, but in NXT instead of pay per appearance they just get paid extra if they have to go on the road. Or at least they did at one point, things may have changed in that regard under TKO.

I know the pay was pretty decent because Moriarity at one point said he turned down a full time-TNA deal to take that type of AEW deal because it paid a lot more.

They only do a couple matches other than the rumble so guessing they’d add some Midcard matches?
I'd assume they would do two, maybe three, matches in addition to each Rumble. I could see them making the Rumbles lasting longer and only doing two other matches. After all, using less people on the card means more justification for slashing people's pay or cutting them.

BREAKING: Rhea Ripley officially undergoes knee surgery and announces she’s out of WWE indefinitely

Ripley recently took to social media to make the announcement after being out of action since Clash In Italy

This comes after Chelsea Green won the Women’s Ladder match at SummerSlam to officially be crowned the new “Interim” WWE Women’s Champion .

I'm just assuming that Meltzer tweet is fake. I know he's said a lot of absurd things in recent years but I refuse to believe he's using the death of a wrestler to dunk on WWE and praise AEW.

If it's real, then that's honestly shameful and cult-like behavior. It's perfectly fine to love AEW and he certainly does but when that love causes you to twist news of a wrestler's death into "how can I tie this into praising AEW while backhanding WWE?" then there's something wrong in that guy's mind.

Having said what I said about Meltzer, I checked out some of Dynamite last night and enjoyed it. That arena is awesome and there's no doubt WWE is following along because AEW has seen success there.

The amount of censorship of WWE on Netflix is just insanity. Thank God they didn’t buy WBD too. AEW replays/pretaped shows would be unwatchable with the amount of stuff they’d have to censor on there.

This has been the case for a very long time. I don’t personally like his style as has been stated before but that doesn’t mean I think he’s untalented, it’s just not what I like is all.

Even if he was merely an average wrestler, he’d still be better in the ring than Dom, Danhausen, and Trick, to name three off the top of my head.

They also changed one of Becky’s lines.
Isn’t Netflix supposed to be edgy? They have no problems showing documentaries with prisoners?

Did anyone ever hear why they didn’t bring him in as a wrestler? Like you both said, he’s got the look, he’s good on the mic, and he’s fine in the ring. Seems like you’d want to get some mileage out of him actually being a wrestler.

I remember Triple H saying they won't have to deal with censorship anymore. Now anything that would elevate a product from a G to a PG movie rating is getting censured out on replays.

Aldis was fine with not wrestling and I don't think WWE at the time was particularly interested in bringing in a 36-year-old to NXT who was largely unknown outside of indie marks. Maybe if he could have passed as Samoan an exception could have been made...

So the NXT PLE that's running the same day as All In is going to start 2 hours after All In starts, meaning the whole entire show is going to take place during All In. I feel bad for them NXT wrestlers being thrown under the bus like that. Viewership for it is going to be horrendous. And you know WWE isn't going to risk sending any notable name from main roster to help boost things because when the numbers come back bad is going to be a bad look for whoever it is they send.

Remember when people thought WWE were going to go back to TV-MA because they were moving to Netflix?

They censor the holy ish chants. They censor a-hole chants.

Censoring blood like it’s full frontal nudity is ridiculous considering all the blood and guts any user can watch on that very platform.

WWE is the Kmart version of a 90s rap CD. AEW is the rap CD with the sticker on the cover.

That Moxley vs. Hangman match from All In last year would just be one big blurred screen for the duration of the match lol
