How good would Ky be with either Hall or Mitchell?

I'm very hopeful we can somehow get Kohler. I think with any of those 3, we look to be in the top 10 preseason polls, by any reaosnable take.

Kohler looks to have that fit for our team. Has that feeling. The good chemistry vibe.

He would be a massive get.

my player preference is:
  1. kohler - perfect glue guy, will do dirty work, high character, low risk/disruption
  2. mitchell - physical miss-match, ISO guy, efficient scorer
  3. hall - proven scorer and rebounder, good FT shooter
currently we are probably going to be ranked 15-20. with mitchell we move 8-10, with kohler and hall we move 10-15

Kohler could make us even better, I think he fits the system and locker room better from what I’ve heard about Hall at least. Mitchell I would love to have too.
totally agree fit/need wise with kohler. not as splashy but good culture guy who will play 100% every night. it will be hall's 5th team in five years. proven talent, but how much is he really going to care and will he come in trying to "be the guy" and mess with the mojo in the locker room.

I think Kohler makes you top 8
I think Hall makes you top 10
I think Saunders makes you top 12

The reason — even though it’s probably Hall>Saunders>Kohler in terms of pure isolated player rating, Kohler solves more issues with this roster. Unfortunately, it seems he won’t be an option.

Hall, Mitchell, and Kohler were all top 90 guys in CBB last season by Evan Miya. Adding one of them would give us 4 top 150 players in CBB from the previous season in our starting lineup. Wilkins is really the big unknown analytically as he had such a high turnover rate and low 3 point shooting efficiency.

The level of separation amongst the top teams with mega budgets is impossible in the preseason imo. For me it’s easier to think of it in terms of tiers. Would be hard to say there is a tier we don’t belong in with one of those guys added to the mix.

Are we out on Kohler? I haven't been keeping up with it.

Dumb question but why would he be ineligible but Mitchell eligible? Kohler is a part of the California lawsuit like Donovan Dent. And people originally(haven’t followed it since) thought he’d transfer to Gonzaga.
The guys who put their name in the portal — even though they had no known eligibility at that time — have a clear path to being options. People who didn’t hit the portal back then, like Kohler, seem unlikely to be options.

The best fit two that I know did that are Hall and Tyson. Do we know of others?

This having to have entered the transfer portal stipulation when there was no reason for them to enter at the time they would’ve had to do it, which will significantly harm these athletes earning potential, screams a Heitner case lol

Weve had enough "culture" guys in the pope era, gets some elite players and lets compete for once

I don’t know of anyone else but I usually can’t follow as closely through the week. Most of what I know came from yesterday and Saturday.

Everyone not being a fan of Hall are ridiculous. He’s by far the best player out of any of the guys we are recruiting. 19PPG on 38% 3 point shooting, 85% FT, 7 rebounds and nearly 3 assists per game. He can handle the ball and initiate offense at the 4 or 3 position.
I think he needs the ball too much to be a fit with what we already have.

I also have empty stats concerns, he dominates the rock but it doesn't seem to translate to team success as much as the numbers would lead one to believe.

I could be wrong and hope I am if he arrives. I'll pull for him if he comes and hope he adds a lot but my instinct is our eyes may be getting too big for our belly on this one.

Thus isn't a video game. The pieces have to fit together and work.in concert.

none of these guys are elite. if they were elite.....they would be in the NBA.
That's not true at all. The NBA is a different game and the type of players that thrive in the NBA, aren't winning titles in college.
The guys that win titles in college, might see a cup of coffee in the NBA.
If having NBA talent meant you have the best chance to win college titles, Calipari would have 10 rings, K would have 10 and Scheyer would have 3.
I guess it would be different if legit NBA talent stayed in college for more than a year or two, but the NBA grabs all the kids that have NBA size, length and athleticism as soon as they show themselves.

With the way Noah has been performing this summer do we even need to add anyone else? Don't wanna upset the apple cart.

It won’t matter who we get. You could give Pope an NBA all star team and he will lose 10-15 games, no defense, no preparation and will just quit.

But it will be a beautiful experience. Pope coaches down. Not up.
