iran having nukes generally doesn't make my list of "things I care about"

neither does north korea having nukes

ideally i don't think anyone should have nukes. but i totally understand why countries would work to develop them.
All presidents since the 1980s have cared about it, even if you are not bright enough to understand the risk from the apolcalyptic beliefs of the Iran theocracy.

You know how I can tell we're losing the war? Because we're obviously desperate to end it but can't figure out a way to do it that will be acceptable to the powers that be.

This isn't that hard. I would argue that it's obvious we've already lost the war, because we aren't going to be able to dictate terms/concessions to the Iranians, in fact it's almost certainly going to be the other way around.

And if you think we're "winning", why do you think we're "winning" this war?

that's great...it's cool that you agree with all of them so much

maybe this is just me...but i haven't been on board with a lot of the foreign policy decisions of the presidents over that time period.

and more generally "a bunch of presidents have agreed" doesn't really make something more (or less) important to me personally

Trump has lost interest in this war.

And Republicans are coming to realize who's going to pay in November.

Those enablers won't be able to explain away rising inflation, elevated energy costs, and Healthcare expenses through the roof.

Eff em all.
Trump lost interest in the war weeks into it. He was quoted back in March that he was bored during briefings. What I don't understand is why Republicans don't care?

something was lost in translation

Israel through lobbying and funding has outsized influence over our politics. We send them money just for existing. We sell them weapons. Netanyahu has pushed to have increased US-Israel military integration. Israel is also the biggest havoc stirrer in the region as they have attacked several nations in the last few years.

Then why are you even here posting about this if you don't care about Iran having nukes because it won't affect you personally?

Google search:

Where is Khamanei(sp) today?

Where is
Muhammad al-Ghamari (the Houthi military chief of staff) and Ahmed al-Rahawi today?

Number of military assets the US has destroyed of Iran since the beginning....

Number of deaths.....

Hope this helps.

Iran is teaching the world to operate without it.

In the last few years after the massive Oct. 7 rapes and murders funded by Iran and carried out by Hamas?

And therefore it is fine with you if Iran has nukes?

Agreed. To be clear, but by “if that’s your position,” I meant “if that’s your (Trump’s) position.”

He started a war knowing he wouldn’t do what’s necessary and has no plan B.
Trump's a Jackass and a Bully. End of story.
He didn't know anything about what he was getting into or would not listen to anyone that might have told him what he would be getting into.

This is a very anti-Ukraine'ish stance ... Israel is surrounded by countries who wish for nothing more than the end of Israel's existence. If one of the many countries/factions was successful in actually genociding the Israelis from this world, you would NEVER see such raucous celebrations on this planet than you'd see from the various Muslim countries/factions who pray for Israel's death and destruction daily. Israel lives, not just with the threat of violence and total extermination at their doorstep on a daily basis .. but with violence toward that end on a near-constant basis. And, then, when they fight back, they're criticized for doing so. Similarly, Ukraine was attacked and invaded ... and some people suggest they just lay down and let Russia have their way ... you know, so there's no more violence and so we can stop spending money and being influenced by their wants and needs.

I think there's a huge difference between questioning the extent to which Israel is going recently, and also ensuring we keep our wants and needs paramount to those of a foreign country ... any foreign country ... and turning on Israel to make them out as the enemy, as we embrace an ideology that has also wanted us dead for generations, and has acted upon that desire numerous times, and continues to do so, while it also still promotes some barbaric philosophies (particularly geared toward women, who we're supposed to want to protect).

It needs to be added that we started the war, and the metric for winning/losing is if we're able to dictate terms/concessions to the Iranians. We're obviously not currently able to do that, so we're losing the war.
if the metric is being able to dictate terms and conditions, Iran isn't capable of that. so they must be losing also.

We're the aggressor ... so, if you accept pjhawk's analysis as true, the metric would be the aggressor being able to dictate terms and conditions ... if they are, the aggressor is winning/has won ... if they aren't, the attacked is "winning," or ... at least ... has not yet lost.

And here is the thing the markets are big up still today. They still react on his timings because the billionaire Epstein class is in on the scam and manipulating the markets for him / them both for monetary gain and political reasons of protecting him. A day of reckoning is coming on the stick market. Corporate profits are down. Inflation up. Consumer confidence down. Job creation down.

We're winning the war everyone! Whiskey has decreed it. We've blown up a bunch of stuff and killed a bunch of their leaders.

Oh yeah, we also won the Vietnam War via this criteria. Wiped out a significant number of the VC leadership during the course of the war. Also, blew up a bunch of stuff. See also the Afghan war.

and the outcome of the Vietnam war had little to do with the military. The politicians decided what was to happen...similar to today
