Iran is winning this war.

It's incredible that the greatest military power on earth(or used to be) can't defeat a country with no clear leadership.

US military being led by a bunch of beta males with low T.
What makes you imagine Iran is winning?

Iran says out loud what we already know. He is full of bs when he talks on vague negotiations. He is made up it all has the whole time, both the bad and then the “art of the deal” they have agreed to part. A consummate pathological liar selling the same lie for his own ego to hear..

And he is selling out Ukraine for his personal agenda created by an arrogant vanity decision against professional advice just because he had a bunch.

It's pure insanity that our President gets busted every week for lying about this war. He gets busted for lying about peace deals, talks of peace deals, deaths of troops, killing of civilians. He lies about it all. And then he times the stock market to make millions off these lies. And nobody does anything. Wtf, America?

Im at the point that even though Hegseth is incompetent and shouldn’t have the job, I don’t blame him, his leadership, him for removing the leadership that he did, etc. This thing is rotten to the core, and it’s that way because we’ve given it a blank check to apparently do nothing with.

Now that it’s tried nothing and is all out of ideas, it’s moving on to burning money on AI while it retreats because it’s getting its **** stuffed in by Iran’s drones that are cruising at 60mph on lawnmower engines.

Trump is cratering mentally.
On the plus side, he won another golf tournament yesterday. Crushing it.

A lot of people who voted for Cheeto because he was a business man had no clue what was behind the curtain, multiple fraudulent bankruptcies, the Russian and US mafia connections in NY real estate and Casino licensing, Roy Cohn, Epstein, money laundering, ...........

Trump has lost interest in this war.

And Republicans are coming to realize who's going to pay in November.

Those enablers won't be able to explain away rising inflation, elevated energy costs, and Healthcare expenses through the roof.

Eff em all.
How can healthcare expenses be through the roof since we have the Affordable Care Act?

everyone knows how stupid all of this is

we know. they know. they know that we know. we know that they know.

and still it just keeps going...no one supports this, but we have a leader incapable of strategic considerations and he's surrounded himself (explicitly, on purpose) with absolutely NO ONE who will oppose or push back against him on ANYTHING

so, this will drag on and on and on and on

It needs to be added that we started the war, and the metric for winning/losing is if we're able to dictate terms/concessions to the Iranians. We're obviously not currently able to do that, so we're losing the war.
The war is not over yet so you are in no position to say intelligently that we are losing.

Plus, that is your metric but not necessarily the metric.

It is pretty amazing how many times Iran's nuclear stockpiles and military was so completely destroyed that they were begging for a deal

You know how I can tell we're losing the war? Because we're obviously desperate to end it but can't figure out a way to do it that will be acceptable to the powers that be.

This isn't that hard. I would argue that it's obvious we've already lost the war, because we aren't going to be able to dictate terms/concessions to the Iranians, in fact it's almost certainly going to be the other way around.

And if you think we're "winning", why do you think we're "winning" this war?

here's a quote, that is discussed in the war colleges...at least the one I attended.
The famous statement "War is merely the continuation of politics by other means" was coined by the Prussian military theorist Carl von Clausewitz. He articulated this concept in his seminal treatise "On War" (Vom Kriege), arguing that war is never an isolated event, but rather an instrument of state policy meant to achieve political objectives.

So here's something for your consideration, and I won't totally agree with your statement that Iran is winning the war.

There is not a military objective that has not been accomplished. Remember, the military doesn't operate on it's own. it doesn't decide to go to war or which countries to go to war with. That's a political decision...starting the war and ending it are not decisions left up to the military, they are political.

So if you want to put blame on anybody for your belief, place it where it belongs..the political leadership. Trump seems to be hell bent on negotiating a deal instead of winning the war. If you tell a general or in this case an admiral, do what you need to do to open the strait of Hormuz, it will get opened. You might not like how, but it will get opened.

I think we win if we degrade their nuke capabilities so that they are completely destroyed or else set back enough that we can keep them from advancing with periodic lawn mowings.

In the meantime, full speed ahead on the Trump admin's golden dome project.

I think Trump will do that eventually if negotiations continue to fail, as seems likely.

Long term ramifications for someone else to deal with. How many regime changes orchestrated by the US have worked out? The 1953 overthrow of Iran's democratically elected regime and installation of a brutal dictator to control Iranian oil?

There is no higher bar than this for the long-term safety of our nation.

Every prez since the 1980s has said, with good reason, that the apocalyptic Islamofacist Iran regime cannot be allowed to have nukes. Don't you want that?

"'periodic lawn mowings"

just a euphamsim for perpetual, unending military action

so - the war will be won when we have to continue bombing a country indefinitely...sounds great!
You prefer Iran to have nukes?

Israel is a bigger threat to us than the US. I wasn't actually concerned with Iran until we attacked them unprovoked at Israel's behest.

This is a not a valid argument. We destroyed their ability to get nukes last year. We set back their program by many years. So there was no immediate nuclear threat and if there was then that threat could have been dealt with for a cost that is less than $1B/ day we are currently spending.

Therefore throwing “but the nukes” around like you do is just pure hysteria. Also, that was only one of many listed reasons for why we started the war.

In the end I believe you are smart enough to damn well know Trump stepped in it without thinking through the OBVIOUS consequences of his actions. If you don’t know that then simply put: you aren’t very smart.

So why do you carry water for an orange fool who starts a war with such obviously bad outcomes for the United States?
