Oscar worthy 😎
Nice to see you back and in rare form. Have you not also read where I want the files released? Do you even understand what has been discussed though? I thought of the three of you, you are the most rational. One of your pals called the movie highly fictionalized, but has said nothing about the actual issue, and he’s a teacher of children. Let that sink in. Don’t be just a suck up to him. The other one? He has a hard on for Trump and Epstein. Totally in the tank.

How would you feel if you knew someone that got abducted? Would you still play party politics? Maybe you aren’t playing with a full deck though. If so, you fit in with the other two.

Right or wrong, .... wasn't the files sealed during the 21-25 period because of the Maxwell case???....and it was Trump so hell bent on using it as a campaign ploy to generate support, then all a sudden, yeah all thats nothing I was ranting about, its fake news, nobody harmed????
There’s some nuance to this. If you go back before the election, everyone but Trump was talking nonstop about releasing the files. Vance, Patel, Bongino, all of them. But if you watch the times Trump was asked directly about it, he was lukewarm to the idea at best. He was always noncommittal about it and would generally pivot to something else. It was the only thing he was like that on as well.

In retrospect, it makes perfect sense why he acted that way considering the stuff we’ve already seen from the first half of the files. He knew he was in there, and that it would be pretty damning. I also generally believe that the others had no idea he was in them until they had direct access to the files themselves. To be a fly on the wall the first time they read that stuff…

I honestly feel, you are just saying that part about wanting the files released, no you don't, cause the results would most likely be what you dont want to see/know imo.....Movie critics have called it highly fictionalized, he was repeating that iirc....you took the dive down human trafficking, we all agree its BAD....but like Duck said, you have this passion for human trafficking, great....but Epstein and possible ties, you seem to just shrug it off imo.....if I knew someone that got abducted, politics has no play in the crime that had been committed, I would want all the justice according to the law

Hmmmm...and he also knew it was red meat to the base and he used it to his benefit, while I believe knowing he all up in it....i find it HARD to believe, someone as rich and powerful as him has a friend that indulges in that and he knows absolutely he doesn't take advantage of that opportunity, when basically he has already said the grab by the p, I just do what I want, when you are a star, and etc..., now he has a friend that can basically make anything happen at anytime....???....i dont buy it

What movies based on actual events don’t get spiced up some? You’re refusing to see the forest for the trees in front of you though. I don’t care what critics said about it. I never base my watching a movie on what they think.

On the Epstein files? You couldn’t be more wrong. What you’re doing is projecting here. You play party politics, so you assume I do. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve been very clear. Release the Epstein files. Personally though, I think the three of you would be in for a shocker.
Your party has already established themselves as clinically insane, so acts with minors wouldn’t surprise me. I do think many guys you three have always admired are on that list. Is Trump? I don’t think so, but if he is, then he should pay.

Are you willing to do the same if guys from your team have done things with minors?

He's even trying the "what if it was someone you cared about?" plea to emotion. That's the only way conservatives ever develop empathy: for a loved one or themselves to go through something directly. It's like it's not enough for others to be humans deserving better; it has to be someone they know.

And like most weak thinkers, they can only conceive of others thinking on the same level, so they try that tactic with us.

Oh, but we're the emotional ones. lol

Now "it's conservatives only care when it's someone they know or go through something directly line." Coming from our resident all knowing. What a bunch of garbage.

Most people develop empathy from going through 'stuff.' How else can you learn to either relate, or feel for someone who's dealing with something? Can someone who overcame being an alcoholic relate better to someone who's struggling with alcohol or someone who's never drank a drop? Do you think the idea of human trafficking affects single people the same as a Parent? How about cancer? Which person feel more passionately about overcoming it, the woman who beat breast cancer, or the 40 year old guy whose wife is fine? Not saying the others don't care, but it just ain't the same.

You can say all you want, but conservatives generally ARE more compassionate people. We just don't brag about it like you do.

Yes, of course the simplest form of empathy is when you have gone through the exact same thing. Imagine if we had to have a personal connection to every person or group of people in order to have empathy for them. We'd never make any progress. We'd stop with stupid comments about childless cat ladies having no stake in our country. Do you want to heal divides or just circle the wagons?

How else can you learn to relate? You consciously work at it until it's a habit. You develop empathy through education and exposure to others without judging them. That's where small town conservatives are lacking. It's challenging and it forces you to grow.

You didn't mean to, but you agreed with me but did it by taking a jab. The values of a small town conservative should be modeled by more.

Here’s the hard truth: Liberals aren’t really that caring, they just make themselves appear so by making the other side smaller. Your side has mastered this tactic. Very clever. Kind of like those urban communities you guys have been controlling for decades. Yeah, I know. I took a jab too. But it's true.

As I was typing my post, your prodigal son lil dickey was posting another one of his gems. I wonder if he isn't related to our ol gal that left us, SDevada.

So, have you gotten around to looking through the Epstein files yet?

I imagine it’s not very high on your priority list, but I had hoped that, since you claim human trafficking is such a big issue for you, you would at least begin to look through the documents that detail a legitimate child sex trafficking ring. I know, though, that you only really care about this issue if you can use it to demonize brown, “illegal” immigrants.

Here’s a post I wrote on March 6. It details Trump’s interactions with a 13 year old girl. The FBI thought this allegation was credible enough to interview the witness four separate times. All of these documents come from the Justice Department’s database that I sent you the link to.

Thoughts?

Under immense pressure, and only after Pam Bondi received a subpoena, the DOJ has now released some of the documents detailing Donald Trump’s alleged crimes against children (aged 13 to 15) that they were illegally concealing from the American public.

It’s important to note that these documents detail the victims’ “first interaction” with the President. Also, the FBI does not conduct four interviews with a witness if their information is not deemed to be credible. More is sure to come. Of the 53 pages that we know were missing from this case thanks to previous reporting, 37 are still being illegally hidden. I wonder what’s in those files?

Education-level and exposure to others is greater in more densely populated areas. If you live in a rural area, it's lacking.
"To conserve" means to protect things from change. With the environment, we see that clearly with conservation areas. Politically, it means maintaining the status quo. Democrats were the conservatives trying to preserve/conserve slavery, for example, and Republicans were the liberals trying to abolish it. In a modern socio-political context, conservatives want less change, which means a tighter embrace of tradition and less embracing of new ideas. This is just basic etymological fact, not a dig.

No, conservatives want smaller government. As far as change? Change is inevitable, and some is good. The Democratic Party is a good example of change for the worse. You guys have gone so far left that Fetterman seems like a Republican.

Can you please show a piece of evidence from the last I don’t know two decades that shows a conservative policy or law that was passed that actually shrank the federal government or reduced the national debt?

When Donald leaves office in two years, if he and Republicans continue their unrestrained spending spree at current levels, he will be solely responsible for 37% of the entire national debt: $17 trillion.

That’s a staggering amount of spending and that doesn’t even account for any escalation that could happen in the war with Iran. Conservatives in this country are only conservative when a Democrat is president and they want to justify killing programs that actually help people.

Conservatives allegedly want smaller government. When it comes to others' civil rights, they want more government that reinforces the status quo. Or you could say they want less government in the sense that they don't want to be told that they can't dictate who can and can't get married, for example. As I don't feel like another pointless, boring argument, I'll characterize this as a nuanced complexity rather than hypocrisy, and acknowledge similar complexity on the Left.

Regardless, the word "conservative" means what it means. It is fact. That it is an uncomfortable fact doesn't make it a dig. When I first read Malcom X as a freshman in college, my first exposure to his criticism of white liberals stung. It didn't feel good to hear it. 36 years later, I now consider it essential reading/listening for white liberals as it challenges us to be better. Same thing with your accepting a harsh truth about small town conservatives.

Going back to President Reagan, the annual budget deficit has grown astronomically under every GOP President and been reduced under every Democratic President.

The answer you're looking for is that liberals/Democrats think govt is the answer. The truth is considerably more complicated. I've already given examples.

It may be more complicated to you, but not for the elected ones. You know that word 'Power' that I have used? Yeah, they crave the power that comes from being in office. Same as I want smaller government. Not gonna happen. Our (both sides) elected officials will most likely hurt their chances to stay in DC if they do what we really want them to.

@Ghost of Dattier @BOOGIEMAN1914

I can’t be the only one who’s noticed how quickly he’s moved off the Epstein file discussion. He has ZERO interest in investigating an actual child trafficking ring because of the ramifications it would have for his personal politics and professed belief system. Now, is this surprising? Not in the least. He’s shown time and time again that he will immediately disregard any information that contradicts his chosen narrative.

Anyway, I feel like I could make a strong argument that nothing good, policy wise, has come out of this Trump presidency, but the absolute shamelessness of it has at least sparked a new wave of protest music that is actually pretty good. Some of it even describes @Mac9192 and people like him to a T. The ignorance. The hatefulness of their belief system.

It’s a reminder of just how dangerous the right wing information bubble has become, where facts are filtered out, inconvenient truths are ignored, and loyalty to a political narrative takes priority over reality.

Love Jesse Welles! Got to see him in concert a couple years ago.

When the question is put to them directly, conservatives are fond of claiming they aren't in lockstep with the President. They bend over backward defending him almost all the time, though.

Ok? If I said “that car sure has a lot of power,” would I be correct too?
No. It has other definitions. I previously shared the one most relevant to the context in which you used it. Unless you are referring to a car in the movie Cars or in one of the Transformer movies or Stephen King's Christine, it would not fit to use a definition of the word power that implies conscious action.
