Not protesting masks, the mandates.

You asked this in another post, but I’ll address it here. What advice did we trust? At the beginning most conservatives I know wore masks, avoided large indoor gatherings, suspended visits to elderly relatives, etc. Over time, it became clear that this trust wasn’t earned and Fauci had his own interests at heart, namely financial enrichment and covering his own ***.

What clued you in to his not deserving your trust?

Dr Fauci went with the best available information at the time. Conservatives act like it's a mortal sin to have gone with a "better safe than sorry" approach for a once-in-a-lifetime epidemic. What you claim he was "wrong" about was nothing compared to President Trump (#45) and his gaslighting.

President Trump has undermined public trust of numerous institutions. Dr Fauci is nothing more than your fall guy. He was right about much more than he was wrong.

Everyone gives lip service to transparency at times. I see Dr Fauci's pleading the 5th as a refusal to participate in a bogus, grandstanding witch hunt. And between terms, our current President took the 5th more than 400 times in a single deposition, so spare me your pearl-clutching.

Most Americans will see Fauci’s invocation of the 5th as the coward’s way out, esp since he’s already been pardoned. What’s bogus about demanding accountability when his policies exacerbated the suffering of so many? His diary confirms that he went from the lab leak theory is a politically motivated hoax to “Well, it could have happened that way. I don’t have the first damn clue”. He asked us to take his word for it that the virus likely came from a wet market that just happened to be in close proximity to the Wuhan lab, which just happened to be conducting gain of function research. lol
