Have you looked at their team???Based on what?
they are absolutely stacked
brother Rice is going to upset a lot of teams this year

Like who? They'll be favored in every game except MC.Have you looked at their team???

Elite training. Non contact passing drillsBut for how long? That kid is legit. And he is only a freshman on paper. Older than most sophs and has been recieveing elite training his entire life.
i am far from someone who love LWE but….I don’t want to say it…
the reality with East is that their schedules are incredibly padded… it is like that almost every single year.
They face teams that have lost before the bus even pulls up to the school.
the minute that they get a little push back, they don’t know how to dig in and recover
As I mentioned earlier in this thread - first games both teams will be rusty. LWE has a lot of depth and I believe 2 D1 players among their Seniors. They'll be playing at home and it'll be a tough game. I think Rice pulls it out 28-17i am far from someone who love LWE but….
East plays a tougher schedule then 97% of the state but no one wants to give them credit because they are a public school not to mention most of the time schedules are agreed upon a couple years out
you control 2 games….most teams refuse to play east since they know its a loss…
they have played maine south, kankakee, batavia, stevenson, crete monee…. Not sure who else they need to schedule lol
And swsc is probably the best public school conference but thats a whole seperate conversation people dont want to have

Word on the street is some LWE people connected to the program tried to get a stud from up north but the family told them to cut it out or they would report them to the IHSA.Did LWE find a Qb in the portal?
Absolute untruthWord on the street is some LWE people connected to the program tried to get a stud from up north but the family told them to cut it out or they would report them to the IHSA.
I recommended improving the non con games due to the decline (and departure) in Brook and HF. At one point in time that was enough to prep for whatever youd see in the playoffs. Its just not the case anymore and I dont think LWC, LWW, Bradley, and Sandburg reach that level. Lockport has shown they can, but we just never know when.Irony of scheduling for the two pre con games. Complaints about LWE playing “soft” for these two season openers over the years. Didn’t BR also play Crete-Monee for the non cons? Or did this not count as Rice wasn’t relevant then?
LP hasn't shown they can prep LWE, they have gotten rolled basically every year in the past 6-7 minus one close game.I recommended improving the non con games due to the decline (and departure) in Brook and HF. But they have won multiple 8A championships. In fact more than anyone not named Loyola or Maine South and as many as LWE. We just dont know when it'll, like 2021.LP hasn't shown they can prep LWE, they have gotten rolled basically every year in the past 6-7 minus one close game.
And I want LP to compete year in year out with them, trust me. But they have not show that at all.
Sure, but they aren’t prepping LWE right now. The scores tell the story. But they have won multiple 8A championships. In fact more than anyone not named Loyola or Maine South and as many as LWE. We just dont know when it'll, like 2021.
They might, but who knows. Thats why I want LWE to do something with that 2nd non-con game.Sure, but they aren’t prepping LWE right now. The scores tell the story.
They “might” this year but recent history shows they haven’t, it’s fact. They might, but who knows. Thats why I want LWE to do something with that 2nd non-con game.
The carry-over effect of tough non-cons in Weeks 1 & 2 may be further diminished for those teams idled for an extra week due to qualifying for the bye in the playoffs. These squads potentially face 2+ months between their biggest tests.I recommended improving the non con games due to the decline (and departure) in Brook and HF. For you historians LWE has never lost to Brother Rice. Coach Zvonar is starting his final season at the helm. The offense for the Griffins will be just fine with a new coordinator taking over for Coach P who has retired.
I wrote what I was thinking. So you are thinking the Griffins of LWE will make the playoffs and continuing the string of being playoff worthy every year of their existence is possible? Coach Zvonar has built with a strong supporting staff a nice little program.
Only need like 3 wins to make playoffs now so id certainly hope soSo you are thinking the Griffins of LWE will make the playoffs and continuing the string of being playoff worthy every year of their existence is possible? Coach Zvonar has built with a strong supporting staff a nice little program.
I agree with all you said as well SIU. The program will remain even after the retirement year of Coach Z. I am amused with the doomsday prophets ( not you ) who extrapolate the losses last year to an evolution. The O was designed around Jonas and in his absence it was difficult to bounce back. Unfortunately a healthy Jonas was not in the cards for 2/3 of last year. This years O calls will be wildly different compared to the last two seasons in Frankfort. Coach Pallissard retired after last season as well. Time will tell.I wrote what I was thinking.
The right coach matters whoever follows coach Z has some BIG shoes to fill, programs dont just stay intact if the right coaches arent thereI agree with all you said as well SIU. I believe his successor has already been named and he was a former Coach who took over TF North and now is back and will take the reigns next year. Personally I thought it would be a more extensive search with some big names being interested in taking the reigns of a program like this but if know who you want, go get him and they apparently did.The right coach matters whoever follows coach Z has some BIG shoes to fill, programs dont just stay intact if the right coaches arent there

Two southwest and south suburban examples come to mind from recent years and you can fill-in-the-Xs: LEXXXX & HX. No disrespect intended to either program and the high bars still trying to be reached at both places. The right coach matters whoever follows coach Z has some BIG shoes to fill, programs dont just stay intact if the right coaches arent there
All you had to do was see him play live, it was different. Can you really call a QB that played on 2 teams ranked within the states top 5 each year and never even made it to the state championship game… the states best QB ever???
Incredibly padded schedule - check
Benefitted from recruiting - check
statistically he may hold some records, but to power rank him as the states all time best QB… come on
what Brasic did at Riverside Brookfield was much more impressive… but also didn’t win a state title
Against a soft schedule he was amazingAll you had to do was see him play live, it was different.
No wonder they closed your schoolAgainst a soft schedule he was amazing
the minute he felt some push back, he folded
It was the largest mass recruitment in IHSA historyNo wonder they closed your school
