Watched this just this morning. Explains why Iran would hate us so much. Also addresses how after the Islamic Revolution things were put in place to prevent future rebellion and keep their system of government functioning, which is helpful toward understanding why killing their Ayatollah and many other top figures doesn't appear to have slowed them down much.

I saw more of an ego trip than confusion. He was the only govt leader who tried to get in the picture with the winner. The man running across was the FiFA president trying to get him out of frame. Spain ended up cropping/photoshopping him out anyway.

He was a great choice as VP, bringing expertise and experience President Obama lacked. I can cite the infrastructure bill that was passed. I can cite student debt relief. I can cite laws to improve veterans' affairs, control inflation, respect marriage equality, gun control, ACA subsidies, Rx prices, stronger international relationships... I can even point to a bipartisan immigration bill that private citizen Trump deliberately sabotaged so he could run on the xenophobia he has been stoking since his birther conspiracy.

What have you got? Jokes about autopens? Periodically incoherent speeches? A really bad debate performance? Making fun of his lifelong stutter? The reckless immigration our current President kept from getting better?

Lest we forget, prior to the disastrous debate, the general party line amongst Dems was that Rep were exaggerating Biden’s cognitive decline. Many even claimed there was no decline whatsoever. It was only after the debate that they acknowledged yes Houston we have a problem. Was it a sudden epiphany that Biden’s mental acuity was in decline or was it a pragmatic reckoning that Biden was no longer electable that led to the coup? No wonder he felt betrayed.
In his family and staff’s defense, we sometimes witness a loved one’s decline and it’s only after a catastrophe when we’re forced to act. For example, we know Grandpa shouldn’t be driving but it’s only after an accident when the family forces him to hand over the keys, etc. Of course the topic at hand involves the leader of the free world, not an elderly loved one driving to the grocery store so the analogy has its limitations.

Trump undoubtedly has a high energy level, but also appears addled at times. He’s simply too old to be President. I’ve long contended that if there’s a minimum age to run for Pres, then there should be a maximum age as well. 65? 70? Late 40s or 50s would be ideal. Old enough to accrue experience, young enough to be at his or her mental peak.

Your defense of him is nothing but horse manure. A total refusal to see the big picture. The guy was slimy. His wealth increased by gigantic amounts while in DC. A career lifer, and a card carrying member of "The Swamp." What I've got is the eye test. You should (but won't) try it. He was a shell of himself (again, there was never a good version) by the time his name got put in the ring to dethrone Trump, and over his term, it of course got worse. Dementia, or whatever Biden has, is a cruel, slow decay.

I never voted for Biden in a single primary. I wasn't excited about voting for him in 2020 and I wasn't looking forward to voting for him in 2024. I lean more toward believing that it was the catastrophic debate performance that woke the Democratic party up to how bad off he seemed and how that shook the trust of voters, rather than complete gaslighting. I also think it mitigates the seriousness of gaslighting when you're gaslighting yourself, as well.

Agree. Trump has more energy than many people half his age, but of course he isn't going to be as sharp as if he was in his 60's. The job as President takes its toll. Look at every President at the start, and either 4 or 8 years later. A big change. They look exhausted and aged by more than their time in office.

It's very sad that our last two Presidents are the age they are. It is too old. But it's a joke to compare Trump's mental fitness to Biden's. Joe was gone before he started.
